TikTok prides itself on a variety of customization options and features when it comes to video editing. One way to add personality to your TikTok videos is to add images and use photo templates in your new video clip.

There are many ways to add images to TikTok. Depending on your goals, you can create a photo slideshow, add animation to your video, use an image as a green screen background, or put an image in your video.

All this can be done using the TikTok app on your smartphone (both iOS and Android). You can use the PC app to upload your content to TikTok. However, it is not yet possible to add images from your PC.

How to Add Pictures to a Slideshow on TikTok

One of the easiest ways to add images when creating TikTok videos is to turn them into a slideshow. Your photos will play one by one and you can add various effects, transitions, stickers and music to them with TikTok video editor. Here’s how to make a slideshow on TikTok.

Open TikTok on your smartphone.Tap the plus sign (+) at the bottom of the screen to create a new video.

Select Download in the lower right corner of the screen.

Open the Photos (or Image) tab, then select all the images you want to add to your slideshow from your camera roll. The maximum number of photos (as well as video clips) that can be added is 35.

When you’re done, click the “Next” button. You can then change any other settings, including adding music or voice-overs to the slideshow. When you’re done, click “Next” in the lower right corner.

On the publish screen, enter a title for the slideshow. Don’t forget to include relative hashtags if you want your slideshow to be trending.

When you’re ready, select Publish. In addition, you can save it to Drafts and download later.

Your slideshow will now appear on your TikTok profile page.

How to Use TikTok Photo Templates

Ever since high school, I’ve associated slideshows with simple PowerPoint presentations that go on forever. If you’re anything like me, you’ll want to spruce up your TikTok slideshows by adding animations to them. You can use TikTok photo templates for this. Keep in mind that the number of photos you can use in a slideshow varies from one template to another.

To add photo effects to your slideshow, follow these steps.

When you open the TikTok app, select the plus icon to create a new slideshow. In the lower right corner of the screen, select Templates.

Scroll through the templates until you find one that suits your needs. Each template will have its own music, transition effects, and a unique number of images that you can add to your slideshow. Once you select a template, click Select Photos.

Select the photos you want to add and click OK.

You will then see a preview of your slideshow. Adjust the options you want, such as Sounds, Effects, or Voiceover, and click Next.

Add a title for your slideshow and select Publish.

How to Use Your Picture as a Green Screen

Don’t have a cool background to post your next TikTok? You can use any photo of yourself as a green screen and teleport to any place. Here’s how to use an image as a virtual background for your TikTok video.

Open TikTok and open the video editor to create a new video. In the bottom left corner of the screen, select Effects.

Scroll through the effect until you find the green screen icon. Also, select the Green Screen tab and you will find the green screen icon there. There will be several identical icons. You want an image over a green background with an arrow pointing down.

You can choose one of your recent photos to use as your green screen, or you can click the plus icon on the left to view all of your photos of your choice. From there, you can use the on-screen controls to place the video in the desired location on the screen. When you’re done recording your video, select the checkmark icon.

Once again, you can add effects, music, or voiceovers on the next page. Then select Next to move on. Write a caption for your video and select Publish when you’re ready.

Under the Green Screen tab in Effects, TikTok offers other green screen options that you should explore in your spare time. For example, you can split the screen and play a video on one half and display an image on the other half. Or you can try using the effect so that the image is displayed on top of your open palm while recording video.
