How to Add Photos to Show up on Google Assistant Ambient Mode.
The Google Assistant ambient mode displays a lot of useful information (such as weather, upcoming alarms, reminders, events, and so on) without having to unlock your phone. But with one caveat, this only works when your phone is locked and charging. It would be great to use it as an always-on display all the time, but this is not an option at the moment. But what you can do right now is add your photos as a slideshow, and here’s how to do it.

Add photos to appear in the mode surrounding Google Assistant
Instead of just showing a blank screen off, it would be great to show any information or a few photos while the phone is charging. If you feel the same way, here’s how you can tweak it.
First, open your Google Assistant settings. You can do this by opening the Google app More Settings and then selecting Google Assistant.
Now open the Assistant tab and scroll down. Under Devices with Assistant, select any phone or tablet on which you want to display photos while charging.
Scroll down again, in the open personalization you can check the option called Photo frame on Ambient display. Tap the toggle next to it to turn it on, and tap Select Google Photos Albums.
Here you can view all of your albums along with the “Recent Moments”, “Favorites” and “Family and Friends” options. By clicking on the plus sign next to an album, you will see photos from that album. You can also select multiple albums if you like.
To select Family & Friends, click Family & Friends at the top and select all the people you want, this will show all the photos of the people you have selected in environment mode.
An auto-generated album will then be created with all the photos of the people you selected, and even future photos of those people will be automatically added to this Family & Friends album. You can scroll down, select an album, and tap Done to set family and friends as external mode.
That’s it, photos from all the albums you selected will now appear as a slideshow when your phone is charging. You can still use the Ambient Mode features by simply tapping the screen.
