How to Add Custom Watch Faces on Amazfit Bip.
Amazfit Bip is one of the most popular budget smartwatches around the world. Considering the price, the performance is amazing. You can get built-in GPS, barometer, compass, which in my opinion makes it ideal for adventure lovers and fitness lovers. And as a Xiaomi product, it has huge support for third-party tools and custom firmwares.
Not only can you set your own shortcuts for the button, but you can also set your own watch face. Now these watch faces can be from the app or downloaded from the Internet. There are several quick ways to do this, and here’s how to add custom watch faces on the Amazfit Bip.
How to add custom watch faces on Amazfit Bip
1. Third-party application
The easiest way to set up a custom watch face is through a third party app. There are many custom watch faces in the app that you can choose from. The app does all the manual work of uploading watch faces to the Mi-Fit app. Several custom watch face apps – Amazfit Bip & Cor WatchFaces and My WatchFace [Free] for Amazfit Bip.
Once you’ve downloaded the custom watch face from a third-party app, you can go directly to the Mi-Fit app. If you have a watch face downloaded from the internet, you can install it using these apps. To do this, open the My Watch Faces [Free] app for Amazfit Bip and click on the three dots in the upper left corner. When the menu shifts, tap Set My Watch Faces.
Now. here you have to select the custom watch faces basket file you downloaded from the internet. Click on the “Select .bin” button and select the downloaded file. Most of these files do not contain PNG or JPEG images to showcase the watch face. So, if you don’t have it, download the white png and set it as your watch face by clicking the “Select .gif or .png” button. After that click on “Add watch face to local”.
After adding the watch face, the app will prompt you to go to the Mi-Fit app. In the Mi-Fit app go to the “Profile” tab and press Amazfit Bip.

On the Amazfit Bip settings page, tap “Watch face settings”.
On the watch face settings page, swipe right or tap Local Watch Faces in the upper right corner. Here you should see the watch face you have installed. Through these apps, I have multiple watch faces installed.
If you cannot find the installed watch face, close the app and open it again. Now tap on the watch face and tap “Sync watch face”. Mi-Fit will now nudge the watch face towards the strap and you will have to hold the watch closer to the phone.
Amazfit Bip can only contain 1 custom watch face at a time, so your previous custom watch faces will be canceled when syncing a new one. So make sure you have a backup on your phone.
2. Hex Editor
Another example would be a custom watch face downloaded from the internet. Third party apps can help you install the watch face, but sometimes problems arise if the file is not packaged correctly. To fix this, we need to edit the hexadecimal code of the .bin file.
To edit the hexadecimal code, we need a hexadecimal editor. HexEdit is a nice minimal hex editor for Windows. After installation, open the software and click “File” on the toolbar. On the extended menu, click Open.

After you click “Open”, the “Select File” pop-up window will appear. Navigate to the downloaded bin file and double click it to open it in Hex Editor.
Now, when the bin file opens, you will have a hexadecimal code in front of you. There will be a ton of scary hex numbers, but don’t worry, we just need to change some of them. On the second line, you will have hex codes like “FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF”. We need to change this to “0F 00 EE 00 00 00 39 60”. This makes the binary in the same format as the other pre-installed watch faces on the Amazfit Bip. Save the file by pressing Ctrl + S.

After changing the bin file, we need to manually move the file to the Mi-Fit app. To do this, connect your smartphone with Mi-Fit to your computer. Go to the folder ” Android data com.xiaomi.hm.health files watch_skin_local”. Here you need to create a new folder and place the modified bin file in it.
Once you’ve placed the file in the right place, go to the Mi-Fit app and you will find the watch face under Local watch faces. The watch face will be blank without a preview as we did not provide a PNG image. It should look like this.
Click on the watch face and sync it with your smart bracelet.
Some of my favorite smartwatch dials are the Pebble and Time Spelling dials. The Amazfit display is not very good, so make sure you choose a minimalistic watch face with few colors.
