How do I change my preferences on facebook ad?.
Just like TV and radio shows, social networks contain advertising. While you can’t remove ads from your Facebook feed, you do have some control over the types of ads you see.

You can select the ad topics you are interested in and deselect those you are not interested in. You can also allow ads from some advertisers and hide others. Until the company transitions to an ad-free model, why not at least control the types of ads that appear as your posts, likes, or following on Facebook.
Access Your Facebook Ad Preferences
Whether you’re using the Facebook website or the mobile app, you can access and change your advertising preferences.
Access your Facebook ad settings on the web
Visit Facebook.com, sign in and click on the arrow in the top right corner.Choose “Settings & Privacy” > “Settings”.
Select “Ads” from the navigation bar on the left.
Accessing Facebook ad settings in the mobile app
Open the Facebook app and select the “Menu” tab.Expand “Settings & Privacy” at the bottom and select “Settings”.Scroll to “Permissions” and select “Ad Preferences”.
Once you’re on the Ads Preferences page, use the sections below to customize the ads you see to suit your interests.
Change Your Facebook Ad Preferences
The Ad Preferences page contains three sections: Advertisers, Ad Topics, and Ad Settings. Here’s how they work.
Changing advertiser settings
Select Advertisers to see who you’ve seen recently. To hide one of the advertisers in the list, select Hide Ads to the right of their name. The Hide Ads button will then change to a Cancel button if you change your mind.
Select “Details” at the bottom of the list and do the same for other advertisers you want to hide.
After you hide an advertiser, you’ll see it under “Advertisers you’ve hidden” at the bottom of this page. You can visit this section and select “Cancel” to start seeing this advertiser’s ads again.
Another way to hide advertisers is to go to the Advertisers section whose ads you clicked on this page. Click the “Hide Ads” button here to hide these advertisers.
Change ad theme preferences
Select Ad Topics to view data-driven topics. These are categories of ads that apply to you based on your Facebook activity. It can be food, beauty, music, technology and more.
If you want to see less ads on a specific topic, select it from the list. Then select Less.
Once you take this action, you’ll see fewer ads for that topic, and advertisers won’t be able to target you based on that interest.
You can select View More at the bottom of the list to see all data-driven topics, but there may be many categories to sort by. Alternatively, you can use the Search all topics box at the top to find a specific ad category.
After you mark ad topics with “Less”, you will see them listed at the bottom of the page. So, if you change your mind, just select one of them and select “No Preferences” to put it back in the list of data-driven topics.
Changing ad settings
Select “Ad Settings” to manage the data used to show ads to you. This section includes five areas that you can customize:
Your activity data from partners: This includes personalized ads based on your activity. To no longer show interest-based ads, set the toggle to “Disabled”.
Categories used to contact you: This includes information from your profile that advertisers use to target ads. Use radio buttons to enable or disable items in the list. Also, select the “More Categories” option at the bottom to check for more categories.
Audience-based advertising: These are advertisers who use your actions or data for relevant ads.
Select an advertiser and you’ll see their details, including a link to their Facebook page. If they used the list to contact you, you would see it too. Select this option to prevent them from showing you list-based ads and exclude you from list-based ads.
Ads served outside of Facebook: This includes ads you see on non-Facebook sites or apps that use Facebook’s advertising services. You can change the radio button to Disabled.
Social Interactions: This includes showing ads based on what your Facebook friends see. As you can see from the example:
“…if you like a Page that has an ad, we can let your friends know you liked the Page when they see the ad.”
Select “Friends” or “Only Me” at the bottom of the Social Interactions area.
Adjust Ad Preferences in Your Feed
It may take some time to set up ad preferences in Facebook settings. While it’s worth your time, you can also quickly make changes when you see ads and advertisers in your Facebook News Feed.
To hide an ad or advertiser on the web or mobile app, click on the three dots in the top right corner to open the drop-down menu.
Select “Hide ads” to stop seeing ads again, or “Why am I seeing this ad?”. and then Hide to no longer show the advertiser’s ads.
Advice. If you select “Manage ad settings changes” below the “Hide” button, you will be taken directly to the “Advertisers” section in your ad settings.
Just because you can’t remove ads from your Facebook experience doesn’t mean you should see the ones you don’t like. Take a few minutes to set up your Facebook ad preferences.
