Fix – Hey Siri Not Working on iPhone (2020).
Siri recently stopped working on my iPhone 11 and after a little research I was able to fix it. However, my method was completely disorganized and rather tentative. That’s why I have listed the steps you can take to fix Siri not working on your iPhone without wasting time on something that hasn’t broken. Let’s start.
1. Fix “Siri is not available”
If you see a screen that says “Siri is not available,†the first thing you should check is your internet connection. Unlike Google Assistant on Android, Siri doesn’t work offline. Internet access is required even for simple tasks such as setting an alarm.
Your iPhone may have been disconnected from Wi-Fi if you are using cellular data, it may have run out. You can also check this if airplane mode is off.
Swipe down from the top right corner to open Control Center, and check if Airplane mode is on or cellular data and Wi-Fi are off.

2. iPhone is not responding to Hey Siri
All iPhones released after iPhone 6 can listen to the “Hey Siri†keyword and work without pressing any buttons. If your iPhone isn’t responding to hello Siri, check to see if it’s turned on in settings.
Open the Settings app and tap Siri & Search. Make sure Hey Siri is turned on. You can also turn on Allow Siri when Locked to keep Siri working even when locked.

3. iPhone does not answer Hey Siri sometimes
I’ve noticed that my iPhone isn’t responding to hello Siri when it’s screen-down. If you want your iPhone to say “Hey Siri,†even if it’s upside down, you can turn it on in the accessibility settings.
Go to Settings Accessibility Siri Turn the switch next to Always listen, Hey Siri.
4. Check the low power mode
On some older iPhones, Siri stops working if you put the iPhone into low power mode. While newer iPhones don’t disable Siri when in hibernation mode, if you have an older iPhone, try this. Disable Low Power Mode to see Siri start working again.
Go to Settings Battery Low Power Mode OFF.
5. Check the language for Siri
Siri supports many different languages and dialects, so if you are not a native speaker or have a different accent, Siri can have a hard time understanding your queries. For example, if you speak with a British accent, change the Siri language to that accent.
Go to Settings Siri & Search Language.
6. Restart your iPhone
If all else fails so far, it doesn’t hurt to restart your iPhone. Sometimes a temporary glitch can affect the software, which is usually fixed by turning it off and on again.
Press and hold the Volume Down and Side buttons to turn off your iPhone. Turn it on by pressing and holding the side button.
7. Check the microphone
When the problem isn’t in the software, it’s most likely a hardware problem. Check if the microphone is working properly on your iPhone. Open the Voice Notes app and record a short sound clip. If he plays correctly, the problem is different. However, if the sound sounds strange or muffled, something might be covering the microphone opening. Try blowing into the microphone grill on the left side of the iPhone to see if there is a difference.
8. Reset Siri
If Siri still doesn’t work, there are a few more things you can try before taking it to the store. Try resetting all settings on your iPhone and hope that fixes the problem. I understand that this is a nuclear option, but it might work.
Go to Settings General Reset Reset All Settings.
Closing words
These were a few ways you can try if Siri isn’t working on your iPhone. If all else fails, then the last resort is to take your iPhone to the Apple Store and they will most likely fix it for you. If I missed a method that Siri can fix, let me know in the comments below.
