Difference Between YouTube’s Public, Private and Unlisted Videos.
When you upload a video to YouTube, you get three video privacy options – public, private, and private. While most YouTube videos are publicly available, in some cases private or private videos make more sense.
So let’s see what is the difference between public, private and private videos.
General Video
The name speaks for itself. When you publish a video, everyone can see it, find it through YouTube search and share it with their friends on social media.
Private videos
Private videos also do not appear in YouTube search, video recommendations, or in the tab section of the video that uploaded the video. Subscribers also don’t receive notifications for private videos.
Only the downloader and Google accounts specified by it can view the private video. If you share your personal video with friends, and they share it with their friends, then only your friends will be able to see this video.
The only way to see a private video is to ask the author.
Unlisted video
Private videos fall between public and private. When you make a video private, it won’t show up in search results, your video tab, or suggestions. Your subscriber will also not receive any notifications if the new video you uploaded was not on the list.
However, anyone with a video link can watch the private video. If you share your private video with your friends, and they choose to share it with their buddies, then all members can see this video.

What is the benefit of unlisted video?
Consider this situation –
You have a YouTube channel and blog. And sometimes you only make a video for your blog audience. You don’t want your YouTube subscribers to see this. In such a case, the videos not listed make sense as you can easily embed them on your website.
Once your YouTube channel starts to grow, you can exclude old videos that are of no value or attracting search traffic from your list. Better than keeping them private.
