The pouch on the top lid part isn’t mesh like I’d thought. It’s a mesh pattern with this weird clear plastic resin coating over the top. It has a definite odor still and I’ve had the case for a few days now. I got rid of most of the smell by leaving it open by an open window for about 2 days. Other than that, there’s zero complaints with it.I have a TI-84 CE red color and it looks GREAT with this case. Matching red and black color scheme between the case and calculator is really spiffy. When putting the calculator into the storage slot, it slides in smoothly and without resistance. I’m not worried about stretching the safety strap at all. Once the calculator is in, it fits like a glove. I’m VERY pleased. This is as close to wrapping it in bubble wrap as you can get without ACTUAL bubble wrap. .
Purchased the case, figured the 100% money back guarantee made it low risk. The case is nice, but didn’t fit my son’s TI84 Plus CE as snuggly as we hoped. Upon starting the return process, we discovered that although this is a prime purchase, there is a shipping charge incurred to return, bringing the money back guarantee down from the purchase price of $8.99 to only a $3 refund. Disappointed to say the least – no where on the page did I see mention of return shipping fees. .
Overall, it’s a nice case, however, the dimensions are incorrect! They claim that it is 2 inches deep. The outside measurements are a little more than 1 7/8. Who cares about the OUTSIDE dimensions, since it’s what you are putting inside that matters. The instrument I have is 1 1/2 thick and you need to force the case down in order to zip it closed, leaving no room for it to b shockproof. And SHOCKPROOF is a false statement, unless they are referring to the EMPTY case itself. Shock Resistant is the correct term.I’m sure I’ll find a use for it as I have many electronic devices and instruments, just not what I intended it for. .
Very sturdy as durable. My son dropped it more than once and it still works and did not break. It was very expensive for calculator, but we saved a little by purchasing through amazon. It was worth the money considering how much he used it through all of his high school math classes and now his college courses. Definitely worth the investment. .
