The accuracy is going to be off if you are measuring LED this is for Sunlight and HID ie. MH and or HPS. It does read LED just not accurately; and it is better than guessing.NOTE: If reading LED with this -2000 LUX from your reading.HID LUX RECOMMENDED:•Seedlings 5000-7000 LUX•Vegetation 15000-45000 LUX•Flower 45000-75000 LUX .
I wish I knew to buy this before I ordered several therapy lamps that later proved to be unsatifactory. When I finally got this meter, I could accurately measure the lux in front of my face (measured at the bridge of my nose), and found most therapy lamps over-stated their light production. I wound up creating my own therapy light by assembling products purchased from Amazon, and now have the best light imaginable, and far superior to what the market offers. I love this meter for providing the information I needed and I highly recommend the meter. .
Accurate sturdy good value to price for use in front of our clients when measuring given light for plants. We are a boutique business with corporate clientswe design install and maintain live plants as we start with light meter readings and use these exclusively for our business a very important tool as footcandles of light is key to plant proper placement for plant to live and thrive .
I bought this for photography and it’s really easy to use and change units. But because of the onboarding temperature readout as well as lighting I can see this being useful for people growing vegetables in their own little grow ops.I know most modern digital cameras have light sensors and even apertures that adjust to the light conditions for ideal photos, but if you want to know the amount of light on your subject for your own mental reference and you dont want to break the bank I’d suggest this. .

This meter is excellent! It works perfectly and is superb. I purchased in 2017. After reading reviews from 2012 the supplier has upgraded based on feedback. Kudos!!!(Sensor cover and case clasps are two examples of fixes.)There is a lot of back and forth chatter in reviews and questions about whether this works for LEDs. They are missing the misunderstanding introduced by shorthand in the original question asked by some random closet grower. The answer to that: No, this is not a good tool to compare plant available light output between a new blue/red LED and an old HPS or MH full spectrum. At that task it will certainly fail. As it and any $5000 meter of this kind should. This is the wrong instrument. There is nothing special about LED light versus other types of light. It is all about the spectral response of the sensor head. The manual gives that response. I will try to add as a photo later.Overall a great sensor. Not only did it help me determine approximate light output if my home lettuce grow (yes, lettuce, not the other green) as one step to mitigate tip burn, but it also helped me identify some major problems with lighting setups at work. .
I can say from self experiment that guessing what heights your grow light’s should be during vital growth stages, or even using the charts/diagrams given with grow light’s (LED’s) is still guessing. Charts help some, yes but by far you should invest a little money, do it the correct way, and using this item, you will be shocked at the difference it makes at harvest.Michael L. asked”Can this measure very faint light in the dark – we need to measure the bioluminescence of a mushroom for a science experiment in the dark.”Just did a few test in compete darkness with a single LED flash light, then just a simple half dead key chain light, I also have a single Christmas light I use to the small currents in little projects, even using a lighter and I can only say that YES this meter is extremely sensitive to light if any kind. From the sounds of wet you doing, it well be perfect. Hope this helps.I also want to give a new update since I’ve had plenty of time to use this. For anyone using mylar grow tents for indoor grows with LED grow light’s ( not sure about HPS or T5 or or lights, only referring to LED grow light’s, ALL flap door MUST BE CLOSED when measuring your light due to the mylar that reflects the LED spectrum towards the center. Very sensitive and the best meter I’ve used so far. .
I use this to measure light level in various growing areas at various times. It is a simple device and I use lumens as the unit of measurement. It responds well and gives reasonably consistent light levels. I have not attempted to determine accuracy since in general the light levels I measure do not have to be that accurate. This is a simple device using a semiconductor sensor for determining light levels. It can be set at various scales depending on the light levels. I usually use X100 scale for direct outside sun levels and usually have measures of 700 to 1100 for direct sun light. It will drop to 20-50 in heavy shade as expected. It would be nice to have a device which could record continuously and perhaps have a wireless connection which can be recorded. However that would significantly increase the cost. For the price this is exceptionally good. .
I find this inexpensive meter extremely useful for assessing lighting conditions at venues where I am taking photographs and videos. That said this is not a photographic exposure or flash meter and unfortunately if you are purchasing it as an inexpensive substitute to use for that purpose you will be disappointed. This meter gives you a simple to understand Lux reading corresponding to the brightness in the room. Our eyes are amazing self adjusting optical miracles they compensate for conditions so much that we often have a difficult time judging just how light or dark conditions really are.Modern cameras and video cameras have sophisticated reflective light meters built into them and if used in an auto or semi-auto mode they will adjust the images we take for overall brightness. They will also predict whether the exposure will be under or over-exposed in manual as compared to a photo that is an even 18% gray. Very few people use traditional exposure meters these days. The problem for most is that if they try to take pictures or video in dimly lit areas without a flash or other external light source the camera (or you) can try to compensate with very slow shudder speeds, very high iso settings, along with the widest aperture your lens has available. It is decision making time as to how you are going to get your best results. Because of improved camera sensor technology this is less important these days than it once was, but this is still a recipe for pictures and videos that have poor image quality.I use the readings that I get from this light meter to help decide how to set up my equipment and/or adjust the lighting for the most satisfactory video of photo taking environment. One could accomplish the same thing by taking sample pictures and videos (which you most the time one has to do also), but I find the meter to be a time saver for initial decision making. I have a much more sophisticated and much more expensive photographic exposure meter. It is more complicated to set up and is overkill for this purpose most of the time, but this is the type of light meter that most photographers are looking for. This meter does only one thing it measures the brightness of visible light and gives back a number representing either lux or foot candles. There are free android calculators and also charts that one can quickly convert these numbers into exposure settings, but this is not what this meter was designed to do. For novelty I have checked whether the readings are useful for this purpose and have had mixed results as compared to our actual photographic exposure meter. Since this is not what the meter was designed for you have to make adjustments to the results you get and the reflective meter built into the camera is more accurate. A modern photographic exposure meter has many more options in the way that light can be measured and gives it much more flexibility. The one I have has inputs and attachments for spot metering and flash metering. Of course it also automatically calculates recommended exposure settings. In my opinion this is a great meter and for me it has been a big time saver for assessing and adjusting the lighting conditions at an event where one I have set up video or photographic equipment. But this is NOT a photographic exposure meter. While both are built up from similar sensors they are not the same tool. This cannot accomplish many of the tasks one purchases an exposure meter for such as setting up flash equipment. If you are trying to fine tune the results you get from your camera this is not going to help much if at all. I hope that is a helpful explanation and also explains why people have felt misled and others have said it is not suitable for photography. .

3 – ProCase Pencil Bag Pen Case, Large Capacity Students Stationery Pouch Pencil Holder Desk Organizer with Double Zipper, Portable Pencil Pouch for School Office Supplies Black

I have always been a lover of ALL things school supplies. I live by my agenda and carry a ton of pens, markers, highlighters, and my flash drive to keep a copy of my grad school assignments. This ProCase is perfect for me. I totally recommend if you’re looking for a spacious bag that can fit all of your supplies! I was able to fit at least 40 (pens, highlighters, markers) in the pencil bag plus my flash drive in the mesh part. Very happy w my purchase! 🙂 .
Very nice pencil case. Holds lots of pencils and has a compartment with netting in the top. That compartment does not have velcro or anything to close it, just a flap of material that sits over its opening which works just fine.I like that the length of it is longer than an pencil, so I can put erasers and my pencil sharpener in there also.Actual dimensions are about 9.25 inches long x 4 inches wide x 2 inches high. The sides are soft, so you can jam pack this if you wanted. It has a nice zipper that zips in from both sides. Nice material that I imagine is waterproof if you were to spill on it. .
Just traveled to Spain with this pencil case. It carried all of my pencils, pens, markers, apple pen, erasers, etc with plenty of room to spare. There is also a separate compartment if needed. It is sturdy yet flexible enough to really pack a lot of stuff. Highly recommended. .
My 16 year old son needed a supply pouch for school. He loves this one. It’s not at all cutesy. It’s just basic and has plenty of room and a sturdy zipper. It’s made well enough that I expect he’ll be using it in college. (He’s a junior this year.) It has enough room for his scientific calculator, his wallet/billfold with his ID, his ear buds, and a variety of pens and pencils. He’s actually told me a few times, I love this pouch! and he usually doesn’t care at all about this kind of thing. Get it. .

4 – Homecube Big Capacity Pencil Case Pen Holder Pouch Marker Desk Organizer Bag with Zipper Large Storage College Middle School & Office Supplies Stationery – Black

I am really happy with the Homecube pencil case. I am a teacher and I color-code my gradebook and lesson planner, so I like to have my assortment of colors on me at work, at home, and on the go. (I do a lot of grading at coffee shops ;] ) I am very dedicated to Pilot G2 pens so inferior pens that might be lying around just will not do. I also recently got a Rocketbook notebook that requires Pilot’s Frixion pens, so now I need to make sure to have that particular pen on me as well. This pencil case is perfect because it has quite a lot of space for all of my various colors, as you can see in the photos (I have 20 pens in there). I also like the border in between because I can separate the Frixion pens. (This isn’t necessary, but it’s nice to have. It’s also Velcro so you can remove it or re-position it to have one side larger than the other if you need.) I also really like that it has pockets for additional items. I have an iPad for work and the cord is always just bouncing around my bag which probably isn’t good, so I can store that in here now too along with my work flash drive that probably needed more protection. I read some complaints about not being able to use the Velcro pocket and the flap for pencil holders simultaneously. In the photos, I have bulky correction tape in the pocket along with a pencil and stylus in the holders. It is definitely snug, but I was able to get the zippers closed (see photo). This may be trickier if all the pencil holders are being used, but I’m fine forgoing some of those to be able to utilize the pocket. The price is a little high considering the availability of cheap pencil cases out there; however, this thing feels very solid and durable so it will also probably hold up considerably longer than traditional cheap pencil cases. The zippers are strong and don’t catch at all. The case is well-lined so my pens will actually get protected (the number of pens that have just come apart in my tote bag during transportation is quite sad). If you are looking for a sturdy case to transport and protect your pen obsession, this is definitely a great choice! .
Purchased specifically to house all my supplies for my venture into bullet journaling. I keep my gel pens, pencils, erasers, washi tape, ruler and drawing pens all in there. I can fit more, but for some reason (probably the organization freak in me) I’ve decided to keep my brush pens in their plastic cases. Pretty sturdy, I’ve travelled with the case and it held up in a suitcase packed to the brim. If there was a larger version I’d get as well! .
I ordered 2 of these cases for my high schoolers, one in black and one in grey. They hold quite a bit, and are holding up really well. For reference, the lined paper is a 4×6 pad of post it notes. .
I absolutely love this pencil case. It’s big, sectioned off and really cute. As a crafter I plan on our all my crafting tools in it. I’m so excited. I highly recommend! .
