I love this line of kitchen toys. This mixer is adorable. I love the quality and texture of the plastic. My 4 and 2-year-old love playing with it and “mixing” their other play foods. I also like that it is quiet. The only problem is the handle that turns the mixer comes off surprisingly easily, revealing a metal piece. It’s not super sharp but also not super safe My 2-year-old figured out how to take off the handle and now won’t leave it alone. I will probably have to super glue it. Maybe mine is defective but if not, it’s a big oversight on the part of the manufacturer. .
This blender set is cute and my daughter loves it, but I was a little disappointed. The description says “Blender makes sounds and features two cups for sharing.” It only came with one cup, which broke (the bottom separated from the cup) a week after we got it and the “sounds” are just a clicking knob. I glued the cup back together, and my daughter still loves it just the same, I just wish the description matched the product better. .
My granddaughter was delighted to get this mixer as she loves to mimic us in the kitchen. Unfortunately, although the idea is cute, the quality is not acceptable for a child’s toy. As you can see from the photos, the mixer head attaches to the base with nothing more than hard plastic buttons which break easily. As a result, there is no way to re-attach the head portion making the toy unusable. I will steer away from any future purchases of Learning Resource toys, both because of the poor durability and because when I looked into returning, I was going to be charged for shipping! .
We have had the new Sprouts mix it for about 2 hours now and my daughter will not put it down. She is always watching me big and we have always wanted to buy her her own little mixer. I am so glad that we bought this one. she is 2 years old and figured it out so easily there’s a little turn knob at the top to turn the mixing paddle there it comes with a mixing bowl and egg that cracks in to butter and also a little measuring cup. It’s so great for little minds and little hands. I want to get another for one of my cousins children. I definitely recommend this for anyone who has their own little baker. .

So close to earning five stars. This set is just as good as the one grandma has or the one at school. Unfortunately the star of the show, the stethoscope, makes an electronic sound that alternates between a heart beat and a shrill cough. The sound is apparently really displeasing to little ears because both my 2 and 4 year old hate it. They also say that it hurts their ears to try to wear it. If we were able to go back and pick a different set, I think I would have looked around more and gone with something else. This set isn’t bad, but I also don’t think it’s right for my kids. The box is also a lot bigger than necessary which makes this take up more space than needed. Also the hard plastic bandages only fit stuffed animals. I think we prefer the fabric and Velcro bandages offered in other sets. .
This set is a bit disappointing to me. I love so many other Learning Resources toys, but this one just doesn’t measure up to their normal high quality. The box is much bigger than necessary for what comes in it, so it takes up more space than it should. The tubing in the stethoscope and blood pressure cuff came permanently bent/creased. The blood pressure cuff broke after limited use. There’s not much that is interactive in the set. And my 3-year-old doesn’t really get how to use many of the items because they are not things he sees in use when he goes to the doctor for check ups, they are more like ER or surgical things (scissors, scalpel, tweezers, etc). Would be nice if it came with fewer but better quality items.I wish they still made the old Fisher Price doctors kit that came in the black bag from when I was a kid – I remember playing with that all the time growing up but I just can’t find anything that’s the same quality.Overall I’m pretty disappointed in this Learning Resources toy. .
Ordered this as a birthday gift for my granddaughters. This kit is ok, not great. Though based on other kits I looked at, nothing really seems to be manufactured that well. (We still have and use a Fischer-Price doctor kit from 1989, wish they still made one of that quality.)This kit has multiple items but what you really need in a doctor’s kit is a stethoscope, bandages, blood pressure cuff, syringe, thermometer, ear scope and a really sturdy doctor bag. All the other items are fun but I would take better quality over quantity. With regard to this kit, the first item out, the phone did not work. Next item, the blood pressure cuff fit a toddler’s arm but the bulb was useless. The thin bulb does not even compress .again, my 1989 FP kit still has a working blood pressure cuff with a movable dial. The stethoscope does make a sound but as others have mentioned it is a weird noise that does not sound at all like a heartbeat. Bandages are flexible but did not fit my wrist and were tight on the 3-year-old’s arm. The bandages in my FP kit fit my wrist and my granddaughter’s without falling off. This kit has three ok bandages and I would have been happy with two good ones. that actually fit. Again quality over quantity. The biggest hit in the box, the glasses. Sized well and they really stay on little moving heads! The case itself is large and is useful in carting all sorts of items along with the medical pieces. It can be difficult for a young one to open and close the locks. For the money, I would only give this kit an OK. Lots of pieces but I don’t see it holding up for the long run. .
Purchased this to use to get my dogs used to going to the vet. I start by showing my dog the tool and rewarding the dog with treat, and gradually work up to touching the dog with tool – treat reward, then actually pretending to ‘use’ the tool on them for treats. It has been a great way to get them to accept handing and all types of vet care they may one day receive, and not be stressed by the use of strange tools on them.I think kids would have fun with it as well, a nice variety in the pack. .

I bought this set for my 2 year old grandson. He is now 7 and has a 4 year old sister. They get this set out almost every week when they visit. They love the fish and the worms. They make a boat of a blanket and fish off the edge. If they don’t feel like fishing they will just incorperate the critters into whatever make believe they are doing. Money well spent. .
This is a birthday present for my 3 year old son. My 4 year old daughter and I got it today and tried it out. She loved the vest, and net. The worms for the hooks are a fantastic touch. My one concern is the difficulty in getting the hook into the fishes mouth. Although one could argue that is a fairly realistic feature. When the fish are sat on their back fins mouths pointed up it is not too difficult, although when they are laying flat it is a bit harder. The force of the magnets connecting knocks the worm off about half the time, which was cracking us up as the fish “took our bait” just like in real life. I think I read some people used it in the tub so I can’t wait to try it in our splash pool. Would highly recommend this. .
My 3 year old son LOVES THIS SET!!! he REALLY loves it .the vest comes with nice pockets to carry all the fishing gear around while actively playing, and the tackle box is great for storing it all together so it doesn’t get lost amongst the other toys in the toy box. Such a great alternative to the trucks and cars that seem to dominate the boys toys “section”I am sad though because the tip of the fishing pole some how seperates, this happens while he’s swinging it in circles or it hits the floor (something I am sure most kids will tend to do?), and the magnet comes flinging out. I kept putting it back in and as long as I face it the right way it attracts the fishies again and all is well!! However we have finally lost the magnet for good which means I will be having to buy another one because this is his absolute favorite toy, he will fish all day when he can!!maybe wrap some tape around the “hook”? curious if anyone else had this happen .
I was a little surprised at the quality of this product. All came neatly tucked in the tackle box. The vest is a nice thicker cotton, so cute compared to the cheaper plastic ones weve seen. The fishing pole is durable, and he has pulled and pulled on the string. The magnets for the fish are working great. This was a gift for my 2 year old grandson and he didnt want to take the vest off at his parents house all weekend! He is now taking the tackle box with him everywhere and is big enough to pack new things in dailiy. .

My mom bought this set for my daughter’s third birthday, which is today, and I didn’t see it until she opened her gift. The idea is so neat, but the execution is lacking. If I had looked at it myself, I would have sent it back, but it is past the return window now. I’m actually pretty angry that my little girl has to deal with such crappy quality, or with having her new cheished gift taken away from her.1) Upon opening the box, I saw that all of the toys and the plastic bag they were in appeared to be smeared with a pink goop of some sort. I discovered that the clover/flower shaped cookie is topped with some strange, sticky, oily, frosting-like paint that leaks everywhere and moves around when you touch it. My fingerprint is clearly visible in it. I see in the product photos that it is supposed to be purple, but ours is fuschia. None of the other cookies have this type of paint, but this is completely unacceptable, and I’m now worried about the safety of the paint on all the pieces. The only option I have is to try to scrub all of the fuschia off so that my daughter can at least have a complete set of cookies. I got most of the paint off of the rolling pin by scrubbing it for a good five minutes, but I couldn’t get it all off. Most of the other pieces are still smeared with bits of it. Once it’s on your fingers or anything else, it’s very hard to get off.2) The egg is stiff, does not fit well in the shell, the shell doesn’t close when the egg is in it, and the egg doesn’t come out easily once crammed in. The paint on the egg yolk is already peeling off.3) The bread is very cheap plastic, and I don’t expect it to last very long.4) The pie pieces are far too big to fit on any toy-sized plates. The plastic is better quality, but the top and bottom of each slice don’t fit together well, so my daughter is annoyed trying to play with them since they just fall apart. No pie plate is included to hold the pie together, and it’s not any standard-sized pie; the small pot pie tins are too small, and the medium store-sized holiday pie tins are too large.I would appreciate a Learning Resources customer service rep contacting me to try to make this right. .
My 3 year old received this as a birthday gift. Both my kiddos are into helping Mommy in the kitchen right now. This was an instant hit for birthday girl and big brother. He asked for a baking set for his birthday too. The especially loved the egg that came with it. Just wondering if I can buy additional eggs too? .
I have purchased multiple learning resources little sprouts sets with no regrets! The quality if the materials is top notch. My son tries to squeeze the foods and they do not crease or fold. They are a soft plastic but very sturdy. I especially love the realistic appearance and textures too. The cookie dough is soft but solid and the different colored sgapes are great for teaching. They easily come out of the dough without the red knob (which doesn’t stick anyways). The pie wedges are great and the fruit color matches the wedge color. The red/strawberry slice can be difficult to close if both slices are in it. The bread slices are very cute but i did notice they are much softer plastic and do get squeezed inward. Luckily they pop back to shape, i wont complain as this is the first of many products that did this. The idea of the cracked egg is really cute, but I have kept the egg separate as it is impossible for my son to close it. The bowl, measuring spoons, cup, roller, ect are all excellent quality too. This set includes:Â bowl, mixing spoon, measuring spoons on ring, roller, cookie dough with 4 shapes, 3 pie wedges, 1 apple slice, 1 peach slice, 2 strawberry slices, knife, cookie sheet, 3 slices of bread, 1 cracked egg, 1 egg. I would say, they should have included cookie cutters to enhance the play. .
Love this! I am not a fan of plastic kitchen food. My kids have dishes and imaginations. But I saw the cookie dough and cut outs on an episode of Good Luck Charlie and I fell in love. Took me a few years to track down that this was where it came from, since most stores carry a different set. My kids always want to help roll out dough and make cookies, so this was perfect. I was sure I’d just keep that part and donate the rest. However I ended up loving the whole thing. Being able to sort colors with the pie slices, practice cutting with a knife on the bread and berry, it was better than just plastic food because my kids were learning with it! Highly suggest this product. It’s held up well, even though a few pieces have been lost track of through play! .

5 – Learning Resources Pretend & Play School Set, 149 Pieces, Ages 3+ [Standard Packaging]

This is a well made product and great for children who like to play school. It includes some useful materials (maps, alphabet, clock/numbers 1-12) and fun stuff (stickers, report cards, etc.). It provides a good way for you to interact with your child and for the child to learn at the same time.Note: The box says that there are 149 pieces. That is grossly misleading as that count includes ever single page in the books that are included (hall passes, report card, etc.). .
We’ll be giving this to my daughter for one of her Christmas presents so I can’t quite yet comment on her how it’s liked by her so that update will come later. As far as the item itself, it looks like it will entertain her for awhile. See has been enjoying playing school with what she has at home but this backdrop is a great way to set up a classroom type environment in a portable case. There’s several different things she can do and we can definitely add to it with other items from the dollar store like flash cards or name tags. There are alot of stickers which comprise much of the noted number of pieces to this set. We could definitely do without so many of them and would rather have had that substituted for a few more useful things. But for the $11 we got this for as a used-like new item (basically the package was damaged but the actual item was still in it’s factory sealed wrapping inside so I’d say we got a great deal), this will be alot of fun for her. I’m sure her students will be us or her stuffed animals so she’ll need happy. .
Our girls first started using this when the oldest was 6 and youngest 3 it is now a couple of years later and they still adore it! I knew they would quickly burn through the consumables and, although there is a refill packet available, I didn’t want us to have to constantly purchase refills. I decided to take 20 minutes and laminate the paper components and just have them use dry erase crayons for them. It is perfect! The girls play school with each other for hours on end and when their friends come over they immediately gravitate toward the set, too. With little worksheets laminated, the kids get to practice their writing over and over and the reverse has been used as a mini dry erase board for other types of lessons. The stickers are easy to stick and re-stick on the laminated surfaces, too, so the kids can use them as part of their “grading” process. They love every part of this kit and it is so much fun to listen to them while they play with it! .
My little grandson loves to play school and he is the substitute teacher. We have played without anything besides his darling sense of humor. This is great for him. Now we play and even get stickers and reports. This would make a great gift for a little one whether using imagination for students or just to learn from the set. It is made to be able to carry everything in its own case. What an asset to be able to take it as he can have his portable school anywhere at any time. We are looking forward to many times of playing school with this great learning set. Thank you.I received this at a discounted price in return for my honest opinion. .

6 – Learning Resources Serve It Up! Play Restaurant, Pretend Restaurant Set, 35 Pieces, Ages 3+

I have 2 kids, a boy who is 2 and a girl who is 5. Both of them love to play with pretend food. We have many pretend food sets for their play kitchen, some of which are better than others. The quality of the food in this set is great. It is sturdy, slightly squishy rubber that stays on the dishes and can take the abuse of the accidental real bites that inevitably accompany a toddler pretending to eat. It is also easy to wash (which is important given that it winds up in mouths from time to time). The food has a good weight to it and stays on the plate while being carried from one place to another (the rubbery texture helps with that as well). The colors of the food are vibrant and realistic. The plates and tray are sturdy and well made. The play money is also sturdy and realistic. Each of the coins is the color size and appearance of the coin it is meant to proxy and they are made of solid thick plastic. The dollars are printed on both sides of high quality paper. It is some of the best play money I have seen. There are, however, a few things that keep this from being a 5 star set. The scale of some of the food is off. While the steak, egg, peppers, asparagus, drink, and yogurt are all similarly sized, the pancake and bread are tiny and the strawberry and blueberries are huge. The strawberry is the same size as the pancake. The menu placemats and order pad are on decent quality shiny cardstock, but it would have been nice if they were laminated. I don’t think they will last nearly as long as the food. Also, there is no pen included with the set. I bought a dry erase marker separately and it works well for taking orders, but when it is advertised as having a write on wipe off surface it would be nice if a pen was included. The menu has a whole lot of foods listed that aren’t included in the set. This frustrated my children, so we made our own menus that only include foods we have. They want to be able to fill their pretend orders. Lastly, the tray only fits one plate at a time. It would be nice if both plates could fit, either by making the plates smaller, the tray bigger, or changing the shape of the tray to an oval or a rectangle so that both plates of food could be delivered to the table at the same time. Overall it’s a nice set that my kids will enjoy for years to come. .
I bought this set for my preschool class and it was a hit! They loved the placemats that look just like the ones at real restaurants. I love that they’re heavy duty and dry erase so my students can write on them over and over again. The guest check is also dry erase. The food quality, as always, is excellent. Learning Resources food has always been my top choice for our dramatic play centers. The food is pliable, which makes it more realistic for kids. I wish the set included all the menu items, but I will be in the lookout for matching menu items. Overall this teacher and class give this set five stars! .
My kids love pretend play and this toy is no exception. They loved all the different items from the menu to the play food. The only disappointment is when they ordered an item off the menu that was not included in the kit. Ex. Spaghetti. Menu should match food provided! .
I bought this for my daughter’s fourth birthday because she is always pretending to be a cook/waitress with her play kitchen. I thought this was an awesome idea but was highly disappointed that the kit didn’t include all of the pretend food items listed on the menu. She was a little bummed about that aspect but overall a fun kit.I would recommend purchasing additional play food if gifting this item. .

Junk! I’ve had this for 24 hours already we are returning this. The vacuum actually opens up but won’t go back together. Figured hubs could glue it together for me so I was going to keep it. But then the plastic brush broke first day of use by one of my 2 year olds. So disappointed because my girl actually was loving this set. Just made too cheap I guess .
Usually a big fan of Sprouts products but this one misses the mark. The brush isn’t a brush but is rubbery, same with the sponge. Doesn’t feel like real cleaning products and child isn’t very interested. .
My 18 month old loves all 6 pieces. In fact he is currently running around with two of them, one for each hand. This is one toy he’ll spend hours playing with , whether it’s holding them, balancing them on tables, or banging them together. .
Great quality. Would buy again .

I ordered these for my 4 year old for his birthday along with a tent and lantern and it was a huge hit at the party. I had initially thought these were going to be a hard plastic, but they are actually a “squishy” plastic. Everything fits into the cute little duffel bag. The lantern in this set glows in the dark, but it’s not the brightest which is why I’m glad that I bought a separate battery operated lantern for him to play with. The marshmallow fits on the stick as well so it and the hot dog are interchangeable. The set did come with a chocolate piece for the s’mores, but it’s lost in a sea of my son’s new toys at the moment (why it’s not in the photos). It’s such an adorable set and my nephew loved it so much that I believe we will be getting him the same set for his birthday. .
This is an awesome toy for a camper who wants to inspire a love of camping in their children. It comes with two logs, a flame, a marshmallow roaster, a hot dog, a marshmallow, two graham crackers, a piece of chocolate, a lantern, and a green duffel. My almost 3yo twins love sitting around their campfire roasting hot dogs and making marshmallow burgers (s’mores, apparently) and crawling into their pop up tent with the lantern. The lantern has a glow-in-the-dark component but does not actually have a light. The pieces can be challenging to all fit into the included duffel. I’ve found that if you put the logs in crossed instead of side by side, they leave enough room for the lantern, and the rest of the stuff will fit on top. It’s counterintuitive but all the stuff DOES fit. .
Got this for my son who is about a year old. So far he likes to put the logs together and carry the lantern around. He even puts it on the table next to his camp chair. He also likes to put the pieces in the duffel bag, which is very handy and great for storing the set altogether!Updated: At just over 3, my son still loves this toy and plays with it regularly. He has bitten the food while teething or just pretending to eat and it still looks new. The bag is in great shape still and the velcro stitching has held up also, which isn’t always common with little kid toys.Still loving the quality of learning resources products! .
My four year old son loves this. Well made, chunky pieces. Yes it’s small, but its not supposed to be life sized. And i don’t know if it’s just a configuration issue for some, but we have no problem getting all the pieces in without a struggle and having the bag seal up perfectly. My son adores this, uses it all the time. It has withstood him, and my two nieces under three. I’ve seen them toss pieces, and bang them into everything. This was a great buy. .

Ok, the reality here is my daughter thats 6 has been talking about wanting to be a vet, so I figured this would be a good Christmas gift. She loves it, so it was a good buy. She likes when I pretend like I’m a dog owner and bring in the little plastic puppy and tell her what kind of problems he’s having.”umm yes, my dog accidentally ate 4 hamburgers and his tummy hurts””Well, ok. Your dog weighs 1 million, trillion pounds. He needs to wear this neck cone and take this medicine for a week”One week later “Hello, my puppy is chasing his tail around all the time and has almost eaten it off””He needs to wear this bandage for a week, and i’ve given him 10 flu shots” .
My “future vet” daughter loves this little toy! Comes with lots of little extras to add to the fun. The back board is made from strong material in strong cloth. Plastic dog is made from thick hard plastic and is great quality. “Treats” are made from very thick cardboard that you have to punch out the first time you use it. All doctor toys are good quality and won’t fall apart easily. “X-Ray” is cute and works by placing card behind a black and white stripped screen allowing the image to show through. The clear plastic pockets are hard to get some of the signs into, and my daughter (6) tore one of then, but it is still usable. Everything except dog packs into a pouch that attaches to the back of the folded up board for easy storage. .
Will update after opened on Christmas- items, interest, quality. Our 3.5yo daughter loves being playing vet. Last year she received the M&D vet toy set. Not all the pieces have survived our 2yo Lab puppy, but she still makes due with her kit. We’re upgrading her set to include this mini clinic setup and the LR Dr coat. She will LOVE- I’m sure of it. .
I bought this playset as a gift for my six-year-old niece. I was impressed with the number of accessories that came with it (stethoscope, pretend shot, pretend medicines, animal collars, two plastic bandages, a cast, charts, cardboard treats). One really neat thing that got a COOL!! from my niece was the X-ray cards. When you put the cards behind the black X-ray, they show bones. The dog that came with the set is cute, but I am sure any child will put all of their stuffed animals through the vet’s office it looks like the kind of toy that will get played with again and again. I also like how the whole playset packs up into a flat carry-all. .

My kids have a Step2 Lifestyle Dream Kitchen which came with a few pots, pans, and utensils, not to mention the various random spatulas, knifes, ladles and other such items we have amassed from the numerous food play sets I’ve purchased for them (Learning Resources New Sprouts, Melissa & Doug and Plan Toys) However, while they do have a Green Toys tea set, they didn’t have a tea kettle that you put on a stove to “boil” and when I saw one in this set, and also saw that it was made by Learning Resources which we love, I couldn’t pass it up for the $12.19 it was listed at when I ordered it!I also thought my son (4.5) in particular would appreciate the potato masher because we don’t have one of those and he likes mine, and what’s another pot and pan and a few more utensils? Kids love those!Well, I’m so glad I got it because my kids love ALL of the pieces in the set. I love that the pot and pan are larger than the ones that came with our Step2 Kitchen, because they can fit more in the pot while “making a soup” for instance, yet it is pretty much to scale with our Step2 kitchen and still fits well enough on the burner, and they also just like to play with it on the floor. The lids fit perfectly and are interchangeable between the pot and pan — I saw a few reviews where people said the lids didn’t fit, and highly suggest contacting Amazon Customer Service for a replacement if that’s the case with your set, because they should! Amazon is REALLY great about returns/replacements, even if the deadline for doing so has passed they will usually give an “exception” so it’s always worth a try!We have a couple of Learning Resources New Sprouts play food baskets (breakfast and dinner) and also the Learning Resources Farmers Market Color Sorting Set, and the pot and pan can fit the scale of these foods perfectly! It may seem like a given since they’re the same brand, but I’ve learned that it’s not always the case! See the pictures I included for reference. As predicted, my son really liked the potato masher, and it also came with an ice cream scoop and a slotted spoon which we didn’t have, a spatula and a knife, all of which my kids really like and are actually using in their play kitchen. Finally, the tea kettle was a hit and also fits perfectly on the Step2 kitchen stove and my kids have loved pretending to make tea and serve it to me! Such a great set for a great price, and I’m really glad I got it for all of the included items. The neutral color scheme is awesome too, so many kitchen and home themed imaginary play items for kids are geared towards girls with their color schemes, but it’s an important developmental part of learning and play for all children regardless of whether they are a boy or a girl, so I love when I find neutral colored items like this! This would make a great starter set for any kid from about a year on up who likes to play with pots/pans/utensils and to have something to put their play food in, or as an addition to expand the items in a play kitchen like we did! Both my 4.5 year old son and 19 month old daughter love and play with this set equally! Great, reasonably priced set with a good variety of interesting items for all ages and I highly recommended it. 🙂 .
It’s an adorable set. This is the second company I purchased a pots and pans set to go with my son’s shopping cart/food set he got for Christmas. The first set was from an outside impoter. I purchased this set because my son has quite a few toys from them that he got as gifts- some I questioned their quality, but there were some that led me to trust the company. The pots/pans and tea kettle are adorable. My son immediately started pretending to poor liquid from the kettle into the pots to have us drink. The problems are:#1: This product says it’s for 3 and up and it’s a pretend playset. My son, behind my back, pours his milk in the pot and drank from it. It’s not like this is an Earth shattering thing, but there is no indication anywhere that this is safe plastic.#2: The colorful convective pieces, especially the utensils seem like the will break soon, especially with an active 3 year old.UPDATE: 2 days after my review, the potato masher broke. Also, I received a message from the company stating the children’s safety is always important. While those words are great to read, that was the end of that particular statement. My advice, if you’ve read this far, is to purchase pretend cookware Green Toys. They are a lot more expensive, BUT you really get what you pay for. My son has a lot of GT products and I love the brand. Now I have gone twice with a cheaper route for this particular style of toys and I’m so sorry I did. .
Just received this set, and a small piece inside the kettle was very loose and immediately came off. These inner kettle pieces are also kind of sharp for little fingers. Kids will definitely want to stick their fingers in the kettle spout and could potentially get cut. This is probably best for bigger kids who aren’t very curious about opening/closing things. I also put the utensils aside for when my kid is older, the construction didn’t seem very sturdy. .
This is your basic kitchen pots and pans playset. It fits the stove and play food of our play kitchen nicely. The reason why it’s for 3 years old and up is because these items arent made of a solid one piece construction. For example, the kettle has a moving part on the spout, and the large boiling pot has handles that are snapped in at the factory. This set is fine for older children that have outgrown putting everything in their mouth. If you have a little one, please find a set that is made In a way that it is all one piece. .

In many ways a very good product. You get the soup pot with lid a yellow ladel, two purple bowls, two green spoons and assortment of nicely cut up vegetables and three noodles. The downside is the ladle is too small to pick up even one piece of the vegetables at a time. This makes the concept of ladling out soup very complicated and confusing. You have to use your hands to put a single vegetable in the ladel. Also there is some magic lost in that you don’t actually have to prep or cut the veggies to add to the soup. My just turned three your old LOVED IT for about 7 minutes. It has been quickly disgarded sense unless I initiate the play and sit and walk her through the story. She is generally a very independent player but the limited functionality of the ladel limits this toy. Perhaps I’ll look for a bigger ladel to use with it. The toy itself is made of high quality plastic. The veggies are what you would expect of learning resources. Bright colors and attention to detail in design of the veggies add to the product in ways that make up for the deficiencies with the ladel. .
We have a TON of play food from the New Sprouts line of learning resources. At least 20 sets worth (I bought duplicates of the produce sets so we could have lots of each fruit/vegetable). My daughter kept pretending to make soup with the whole vegetables. This is such an upgrade from that sort of play because the ingredients are chopped! If your kid wants to pretend cook with actual ingredients, this set cannot be beat. Most play food is either whole produce (like a potato or head of lettuce) or it’s a finished product (like a bowl of cereal or slice of cake). This set has the chopped vegetables. It’s fantastic – and I plan on ordering a few more identical sets of this just to have more chopped ingredient options. We especially LOVE the noodles. They are fantastic. I wish there was a New Sprouts bag of just the noodles. Because you only get 2 noodles in this whole set. Would be awesome to have 8 or 10 individual noodle pieces for more versatility in what pretend play can occur. But, as I said, I will be buying another set or two .Total side note – but if you’re big into pretend food in this sort of plastic line — check out the Green Toys stove top https://www.amazon.com/Green-Toys-Stove-Top-Teal/dp/B00IL7IGI2. It’s just a plastic stove top that you can toss in the same bin with all your awesome New Sprouts play food – so you don’t need a whole big toy kitchen to cook. .
I researched a ton of play food brands before I decided on Learning Resources New Sprouts. It seems like wooden play food is en vogue currently, but I was looking for something more like my Fisher Price food sets from the ’80s.The New Sprouts line is fantastic. As many other reviewers have noted, the type of plastic they use is wonderful. It’s soft and flexible but durable and withstands a lot of overly enthusiastic pretend chewing :). The details on the food are adorable and the scale of the foods and kitchenware are perfect for little ones. I also like that the colors are bright without being too obnoxious and are gender-neutral.I got this set because I wanted the pot to add to our collection. The bottom is almost rubbery, which is nice because it doesn’t gouge up our play surfaces. We have four of these food sets now and I have no regrets. .
We recently got gifted a play kitchen for my little one and we have slowly purchased pretend food for her to play with. My little one knows that her grandmother loves soup, and practically has it with every meal, so I decided to get this soup set. There are so many different food sets and many of them are the same typical foods and we wanted something different as well. And we found this little gem! It is cute! The makers of this product showed such attention to detail that it just makes the pretend experience so much better! The little carrots and celery are ribbed just like the real thing and the tomatoes have the seeds imprinted on them as well! The pieces are a good size and I was a little hesitant on purchasing it without really knowing the actual size and worrying about these being a choking hazard. I’m glad I went ahead and purchased it! They are all around an inch and a half or larger and don’t worry me (although my little is supervised when playing; you never know!!)My little one loves playing pretend with this toy and always makes sure to serve a bowl for her grandmother each time she stops by for a visit! All the Learning Resources pretend foods are high quality and will withstand hard and rough playing times with children young and old. If you are looking for great quality and durable material that will last a long time, get this product. It is sure to withstand time and still be in great condition as your child grows older! .

I have purchased more than one set of Learning Resource play food and have not been disappointed yet. The food is made of a very durable plastic, and has some weight to it. This is not the cheap-quality stuff that will get non-removable dimples when you squeeze it, or when it gets accidentally stepped on. This is high-quality, dense plastic that will last forever. Some of it is so realistic-looking, I’ve had to pick it up off the floor and inspect it to make sure it isn’t the real thing. I will definitely be a repeat buyer of Learning Resource play food in the future. .
I got this for my 3 year old grandson for Christmas and he just loves it. The food is very realistic looking, but small enough for little hands. The potato chips are so realistic you think they are real. It feels like the food is made of a rubbery type plastic that keeps it from sliding off the plate. The sandwich pieces don’t need the Velcro to stay together they just kind of stick to each other. I just gave it to my grandson last night with the rest of his Christmas and there were a lot of toys and other gifts but the only ones he played with was this one and the Pretend and Play Pizza Shop also made by Learning Resources. He got other food sets to go with a play kitchen at his house and the Learning Resources, especially New Sprouts, are far superior to any other plastic or wood set. These are a little costlier but well worth it. Going to get the New Sprouts Garden Salad set next. .
Though I balked at the price it is good quality. The pieces stack nicely and it’s a great addition to kiddo’s toy kitchen. We’ve kept it simple, never purchased those huge plastic food sets. When baby was very little started with the felt Ikea veggie basket. Then moved on to the sorting and counting fruit and veggie jars which was great because also educational. This is the latest addition and kiddo is happy with it. .
I have fallen in love with learning resources pretend food because of the quality and how much joy it brings my son. He loves making pretend sandwiches and when I saw this kit I just had to buy it for him. My only complaint is the initial smell of the food. It has a very strong almost toxic smell to it. I don’t recall that with our last learning resources pretend food, which bothers me enough to knock off a star. Overall, my son is absolutely obsessed and refuses to put it down! .

We purchased this for our 15 month old son. He currently has a large kitchen set in our kitchen to keep him somewhat occupied when I’m cooking. We figured adding food items to the cupboards or refrigerator in his set will keep him entertained for longer periods of time. Right now my son enjoys inspecting each piece and putting them away back in the basket. He also really seems to enjoy walking around the house with the basket on his head when he’s had too much sugar The individual pieces themselves appear to be high quality, the plastic seems sturdy and each piece has lots of details. There are small pieces that have painted details, the paint itself does not appear to be cheap and I don’t think it will just crack and chip off. The items did have a plastic smell when I first took everything out of the box but by the next day I couldn’t smell it anymore.I subtracted one star because Learning Resources is very vague in regard to what exactly their products are made of. The packaging itself only states its “non-toxic” which really could mean anything because many plastics that are eligible to be labeled as “non toxic” have unknown long term exposure consequences. Learning Resources states these are made of PVC and polyethylene. .
I was looking for a play food set that included meat for my son’s 2nd birthday. I have a 5 year old and we have accumulated a variety of playfood from different brands and made of different materials. We have have everything from Lakeshore Learnings veggie basket to Melissa and Doug sandwich making set to Melissa and Doug playtime produce fruit to Learning Resources healthy breakfast/lunch basket. There is very little options to choose from when you are looking for chicken, fish, or steak. I loved that the set included a t-bone steak, so I got it. When we got the set, our first reaction was tiny, very tiny. We are accustomed to everything being real life size. Things are about 1/3 the size of our other food. For example the milk looks like a shot glass when put next to the glass of milk from the other learning resources sets. If you are looking for that rubbery shiny classic learning resources food, this set is different. The pineapple, corn, broccoli, and lettuce are more textured (as to stimulate sense of touch) and very easy to squeeze. I would say a great starter set, but if you are looking to supplement your existing set this may not be the set for you. .
This is one toy that is EXACTLY as pictured! No tweaked lighting, photoshop, or any other tricks. What you see is what you get. (It happens more than you’d think)The basket is so handy! The food fits very well. It’s rubber, but not like a dog toy. Thicker than that, and higher quality. Even the handle grips on the basket are rubber, which they didn’t have to do, but did. And I think that also speaks for the quality of the set. The bowl really looks and feels like the plastic bowls in my kitchen, only smaller! As always, I love that it is mostly whole foods and not just junk like a lot of sets!I was happy to catch this for like $18 or so, marked down from the regular price of $25 that the breakfast Learning Resources New Sprouts Breakfast Basket  and lunch Learning Resources New Sprouts Lunch Basket  were still going for! I also grabbed the Munch It set Learning Resources New Sprouts Munch it My Very Own Play Food , but I had some issues with that set, which I mentioned in that review. (A pic of THIS set is included in the tail end of the video on said review, if you’d like to see it.)I’d buy it again! And I will keep watching the Breakfast and Lunch sets for price dips! .
Great little plastic food set. I wanted to buy wooden, as plastic is not a favorite. I changed my mind when I pictured my granddaughter possibly throwing her play food. Plastic won’t hurt if you get knocked in the head with it I would buy it again. Shipped quickly and packaged well. You don’t need 100+ pieces of plastic food to satisfy a small child. A few well-constructed pieces are perfect for hours of fun. .

These are the best and most entertaining toy fruits and vegetable for toddlers ever!!!! I love them sooooo much. My son is 2 1/2 and we got him these for christmas. He played with these every single day for a month straight. They were the very first toy he got out every morning and he has endless amounts of fun with them. The plastic they are made from is very sturdy, Theyve been dropped kicked and thrown with no cracking what so ever, they are big enough not to concern me about choking, they slice easily, the velcro is good quality and your child will love them. He likes cutting them and naming them and sorting them and he still 3 months later plays with them everyday at some point. These were a great price for a very good quality little toy. Highly recommend this brand too. I looked at a ton of them and got these and another brand (kitchen fun) that are also really nice with a few more veggies and both together make a nice collection of slicable fruits and veggies that my son loves to play with. .
These fruits and veggies come in a clear carry case, with a plastic knife and cutting board so your child can prentend to slice. As a teaching tool it is certainly a good thing, helping kids to learn different healthy foods, matching, and fine motor skills. That’s where the awesomeness stops. The fruits and veggies are flimsy plastic and barely stay together with the Velcro in between slices. The strawberry in fact did not have Velcro at all.For the price, this toy is ok. However, there are other (better) items for similar prices. .
These are great! My toddler loves holding bananas and tomatoes All day. We had to throw out so many as they would get bad from him holding them. Got this praying it would do the trick and it did! He loves it. He got so excited when he saw the banana in the bag! These fruits and veggies are very well made and love that they are a soft plastic and not hard. Adorable! .
These veggies remind me of a soft rubbery ball, harder than a stress ball, softer than a 4-square ball. These are the BEST food toys I have owned in my LIFE. I have owned many sets of food toys over my 9 years of being a mom. Most have not survived, but these. these are different. I will update if any get ruined! .

My daughters cousin had these over at her house for a play date and we fell in love with them! My daughter seemed much more interested in her cousins food then in her own KidKraft food. The KidKraft is cheap plastic. It slip and slides all around her table and her plates. These Learning Resources ones are rubberized so they stay in place and when she makes sandwiches, the bread and cheese actually stay together. They’re soft rubberized plastic and feel so REALISTIC! The bread is nice and soft, not hard. The soup and cereal look so real! The milk and juice are nice as well. They have a hefty weight to them making them feel even more real! These are hands down the best pretend foods on the market! Totally worth the price! .
This set is amazing. My son is only 7 months and he loves it already. So do I. We have so much fun playing together. He loves filling the baskets and dumping them out again. The quality is great. Each piece is a durable, flexible, rubbery, plastic (although some pieces are denser/heavier than others which is a bit odd). Once I saw how great this set was I ordered two more LR sets.I included pics of what we received with each basket. You can see in one pic how great these pieces are for little hands! My son picks them up to play by himself! .
I bought this for my 5 year old daughter for Christmas. She likes it, but her 4 year old brother and almost 2 year old brother like it a lot more I think.I LOVE the quality. I had been going back and forth of buying toys from this company for a few years, wondering if it was worth the slightly higher price. Definitely is. I haven’t had to throw any pieces away, and with 5 kids in the house, I can’t watch every single one at every second of the day, so usually toys get broken, chewed on, or stepped on. I’m sure these food pieces have been no exception in receiving the same treatment, but they definitely have exceeded my expectations! .
We have the cupcakes by Learning Resources and it was the only food she would “cook†with in her kitchen. I had purchased some plastic food prior that was just sitting there. Decided it might be a texture thing for my daughter and bought these. They are more rubber like. The detail make it look real. She is now “cooking†and identifying all her new foods. (Purchased for her 2nd b-day) .

WOW! This play food is not like anything I’ve seen before. It’s almost like something you would find at a children’s museum, it doesn’t feel like a toy. Nothing like those cheap sets they sell all over the place. The cookies are dense and look like AN ACTUAL COOKIE. The measuring cup and mixing bowl have silicone non slip bottoms just like mom’s! I bought my daughter a large play food set last Christmas from the toy store and I think we have about 3-4 items left. That other set was hollow and made of very cheap thin plastic and cracked or got damaged easily. I also didn’t like that the other play food has holes in the top to let air in/out so if it got taken into the tub it would fill with water (and eventually get moldy and need to be tossed) This play food is like non other. WOW! I am simply so impressed. As long as it doesn’t get lost there is no reason this toy couldn’t last for YEARS! The tray that the cookies comes on is heavy (for plastic) and there is no way it will crack. The bowls feel like actual kitchen bowls and the utensils are equally as quality. I will be ordering more from this brand. .
I needed to replace the play food that originally came with our kids’ play kitchen. I thought this set looked cute, so I bought it. I never anticipated just how much my kids would love it! My three preschoolers have spent days playing with it, and my two year old just can’t get over the cupcakes in the pan. He’s been carrying them everywhere, even in the car. The cookies and cupcakes are a nice thick rubbery plastic and are much sturdier than most other play foods. The cookies actually can be picked up off the tray with the included spatula since they have some weight to them. The dishware and utensils seem very durable as well. The bowls even have a rubber non-skid bottom like real mixing bowls. I’m very impressed. This stuff is hands down the best quality play food I’ve encountered. .
My boys love play food, cooking. My two year-old particularly likes “baking.” Got this, it’s a huge hit. We “measure” ingredients together, mix, roll, scoop, bake, and they LOVE serving mama and daddy cookies or cupcakes, especially with “coffee” (anything they decide can be a mug).Quality is excellent. Sturdy, excellent material, great feel, great weight. Not the least bit flimsy.* Important — love Learning Resources, but previously bought cupcakes with shapes to fit together, and there was a terrible chemical smell. When washed in water with white vinegar and dish soap, they turned greenish. THAT IS NOT THE CASE HERE. NO SMELL, NO TROUBLE. If you had that experience, get these. No, they don’t have the shape thing, but they are great.Highly recommended, money well spent. .
My grandkids ages 4 and 8 love this play set. The baking pan doesn’t fit into the step 2 kitchen oven but they enjoy it just the same. The product is well made and cute with the exception of the cup cakes which have terrible colors and are a bit of a turn off. Both kids spend hours playing , it surprised me to see my 8 yr granddaughter start playing with a kitchen again all it took was a few new sets of play food that actually look like food to revitalize her interest again. We have really started loving the sprouts line of learning resources. Well worth the money with well made , designed and durable toys. I have actually order a few more sets to try .

18 – Learning Resources Farmer’s Market Color Sorting Set, Homeschool, Play Food, Fruits and Vegetables Toy, 30 Piece Set, Ages 3+
Top Reviews
Learning Resources has done a nice job of combining a learning opportunity (colors, sorting, fruit/veggie identification) with a wonderful set of play food that will work great in your child’s play kitchen. The set contains 5 plastic “farmer’s market” bushel baskets with 25 pieces of play food (5 of each color). I mainly selected this item because I was looking to add additional fruits and veggies to our play food stash. The teaching opportunities with this set are just an added bonus for me.There’s a nice variety of play food which includes some you don’t typically see in other play food sets (eggplant, cucumber, pumpkin, 3 different colors of pepper, yellow apple, peach, plum). Like all Learning Resources play food, the quality is amazing. As an early childhood teacher and a mama, I’ve seen my fair share of plastic play food and I did a lot of comparison shopping before I purchased the play food for our play kitchen. Unlike others, this food is well sized, very detailed and made of soft plastic (it has a little give if you press it). Take a look at my photos and you can see some side by side comparisons of “other” play food (left) vs. the Learning Resources food (right). You’ll see from the picture that the Learning Resources food is much more realistic looking. To get a sense of size, I’ve also included a picture of the tomato and orange pepper on our play kitchen’s counter (the Ikea duktig). Another nice touch is that the sorting baskets have a color label on the outside and inside of the basket. It’s a thoughtful detail and helps children who may be looking down into the basket when they’re sorting. While I’m using this in my home, given that the food is so realistic looking and durable and there are lots of learning opportunities with the set, it would make a great addition to a childcare/school setting as well.** I purchased this product at full price for use in our home. If you found this review helpful, please click the “YES” button. Thank you! ** .
Not bpa, phthalate, or lead free.Nice toys wish they were made safer. Returned mine after the company responded when I asked if they were free of the chemicals mentioned above that they are not. .
This review is for the Learning Resources Farmers Market Color Sorting Set.I bought this color sorting set for my 3 year old son. He currently is enrolled in the Early Childhood Special Education program. I’m constantly looking for activities that will grab his interest as well as assist him in the various areas he struggles in. This does that.Included in this purchase is a set of 5 plastic baskets which are labeled with a different color on each one. It also comes with 25 pieces of fruit and vegetables- a total of 5 fruits and vegetables for each color. The baskets are a hard plastic and have withstood many a fling across the room. They have never cracked and look as new and vibrant as the day I bought them. The same can be said for the fruit. They are firm and have the feeling of a rubber and plastic combination. My son has chewed on them and tried to squish them and they’re in perfect condition. They are not slippery and have a nice thickness to them (without being too big)which makes it easy to grasp. They all have a vibrant color to them and have maintained their vibrancy even after heavy usage. These are extremely durable and are very versatile. We use this for both imaginative and structured play. They are used in our toy kitchen and on pretend shopping trips. We use them for color identification, sorting, fruit and vegetable identification and counting. My son will sit in front of the baskets and sort, and sometimes he’ll stand a small distance away and toss the fruit into the baskets. We’ll place the food pieces around the living room and have him run to grab them according to food name or color.I’m very pleased with the quality of the baskets and fruit. I have no doubt that it will last for many years. As soon as my son no longer uses it, I will be donating it to our early childhood program so other kids can benefit from it. .
This was the first toy I had ever boughten by learning resources and it will not be my last. The quality of this toy is amazing! The fruit is made of a solid plastic but it still gives which gives it a realistic look. The bins are made of hard plastic and held up to a lot of play. I have twin two year old girls and they are loving this toy. They love to dump out all the fruit and then put it back in the baskets. In the past we have purchased a certain wooden toy brand for play food (and boy do we have a lot of it) and after this toy I will now be buying Learning Resources for play food. I’ve found that the wood toys chip and really don’t hold up to a lot of use. They are still usable but you can tell they have been used a lot. With the Learning Resources toy they still look like new after more than four months of daily use.I would highly recommend this toy and brand over the wooden food that is dominating the market. I have even told all my mom friends to look into this brand and those that have purchased it have not been disappointed. .

This is the BEST set of play food that we have found! Excellent quality and a perfect size for small hands. Very realistic looking food (fruit, meat, desserts, vegetables, etc). I have shown the play food next to a can, to show the approximate size. I highly recommend this product. Please mark if you find my review helpful. Thank you so much! .
Wishing I could give it more stars! I read other reviewers speak of the quality and wondered, “what’s so great about toy food?†Seriously, I’ll never buy another brand! This is much more sturdy than other play food. Firm and resilient enough that I don’t have to worry about my toddler crushing or breaking it, and soft enough that I don’t worry about him scratching his baby sister with it! We talk about what the food items are called, their colors, count them, and practice sharing. I can wait to buy the other sets! I’m so glad I stumbled across such an awesome find .
This food is legit! Nicest quality play food I’ve come across! Love that it came with a grocery basket and a faux wicker/farm basket. Kids loved it and my 3 year old knew exactly what everything was except the Ice cream sandwich because we are negligent parents and he’s lived 3 years never having had an ice cream sandwich. .
Amazing quality like everyone else says. The rubber toys have weight to them and are not cheap plastic. The sandwich bread is even spongey! So fun! Truly worth the money. Bought this because she fell in love with the food set at the gym kids club and this is the same one. Photo shows the sandwich even I had fun making LOL .

EXCELLENT quality! Plenty of food groups and foods my kids are actually familiar with!! I only have 4 stars because I wasn’t fond of the price! I feel like $30 should have been reasonable. .
I researched many play food set reviews. I wasn’t totally sold on any brand and set because of some of the negative reviews. They all said the food was made of cheap plastic, and cracked when stepped on. I came across learning resources brand and was impressed by the reviews. I was not thrilled about the price though. Luckily that day I went to Costco and found a learning resource new sprouts set for $20. I went home and pulled it out the box. I was immediately excited about it. The quality is amazing. The pieces are quality plastic and wont crack if stepped on. I then put it out with my toddlers play kitchen. I love this brand so much that I decided to buy this additional set. I am so glad I did.Things I love about this set and new sprouts line:-perfect for small toddler hands and even preschoolers hands.-recognizable foods-scale to play kitchens. The food fits into the play kitchens pots and pans. It also fits on the dishes.-great variety from all food groups.I would totally recommend this set and other new sprouts sets. I have the breakfast, lunch and dinner set from Costco. I also have the munch it set. I plan on getting other sets too. .
I was very excited to use this toy with my son, but I was extremely disappointed with it as soon as I opened it. There was a very strong chemical smell, and the food pieces felt like they had a powdery film on them. I searched for information about what materials these are made from, but could not find anything stating the type of material. and nothing at all addressing the safety of the product. Nothing said that they were non toxic, or bpa free, etc. I went on their website and again could not find anything about the safety of their products. I really wanted to like this, but I cannot have my son play with this. .
So I’m not even joking when I say that this food set is the best set I’ve ever seen in my life . It’s true when they say you get what you pay for . My son is two and daughter 9 they spent 2 hrs playing with it after it came and I’m not convinced that I’ll have this set for ever my grandkids will probably be playing with it .each piece has realistic detail , weight and durability I’m so glad I “splurged†on this set .Plus it came in a Rubbermaid so I can easily clean up and put it all away ! .

This is by far the WORST piece of Learning Resources playfood I have EVER purchased. This is NOT the same quality has the breakfast, lunch, dinner baskets, or the bushels of fruit and vegetables. The food is a very cheap feeling hollow plastic. It feels nothing like the other food. It’s held together by very little Velcro. The cutting board is the same size as the fruit and vegetables! Do not purchase this toy, save your money and buy the Melissa and Doug or Cubbie Lee Toys slicing wooden playfood instead! I absolutely regret purchasing this for my child. Save your money! .
Purchased these pretend fruit for my 3yo son who is really interested in cutting his food. I have the entire Learning Resources play food set and was expecting the look and quality to be the same. To my surprise, these are very different. These are made from a very lightweight hollow plastic. Some of the Velcro rounds weren’t even aligned correctly but they were easy to adjust. They are good for little ones who are interested in cutting up their food cut. I’m just a little disappointed as these were not like the other LR play food – My son on the other hand, seems to enjoy them. .
I’ve been a big fan of Learning Resources toys for many years but was disappointed by this set. It’s made with cheap plastic and the Velcro on some came off as I was opening them up for the first time. For some more $$ Kidoozie and Small World Living Toys has much better sets that are much more sturdy and durable. I wouldn’t recommend this product. .
It is a joy to have a 3 year old once again and be able to buy fun toys that they can enjoy. Rather than $60 video games for the older kids, she loves playing make believe. Having also received a gift of plastic pots and pans and tea set, mom and she sit and play kitchen and both giggle a lot. I have fun just watching the two of them together, and actually have been invited to join them. However, I am not allowed to do any of the cooking! I just get to eat the imaginary meals created. This is nice, sturdy plastic food, and the ability to slice items apart and then match them up to put them back in one piece has the benefit of training her young, inquisitive mind. .

22 – Learning Resources Doctor Play Set, Doctor Kit for Kids, Pretend Play, Imagination Play, 3 Pieces, Ages 3+

This is a great Doctor coat. The snaps are large and easy to open and close, the fabric is soft. The photo shows our very tall 2 1/2 year old wearing it. We had to roll up the sleeves which was no problem and it actually looks very cute like that. I think it will fit most all 3 – 5 year old kids and it washes well too. Luckily the price is right so we can start saving for medical school! .
First the pros:The doctor’s coat is very nice and seems to be well made. The cross graphic doesn’t seem like it will peel off, and the name tag is a nice bonus. The stethoscope is also well made and easy for my child to use.The con, which is what downgraded this item from a 4-star to a 3-star.The coat is HUGE. It is supposed to fit ages 3 through 6, so I figured it would be pretty baggy on my almost 3-year-old. Instead, it’s like an incredibly baggy dress. The sleeves are twice as long as her arms. The coat is so big that it fit (a tight fight, but still fit) my 9-year-old son who wears a size 10. That’s a far cry from fitting ages 3 to 6.I’m going to keep it and hem it up for my youngest since it is a nice quality coat for pretend play, but would recommend only purchasing it for older kids or at least be aware that you may need to hem it to fit younger ones. .
The thing I like best about this play set is the stethoscope. It actually works! It is made of a rubbery material and doesn’t hurt to put into your ears like many other doctor play set stethoscopes do. The Jacket is a nice material and although it fits a little large on my 4 year old that just means there are many more years of pretending to be had. .
Bought this to supplement the disappointing doctor kit I bought for my grandson. He loves the doctor coat and being a small 3-year-old, it will fit him for years to come. The stethoscope works perfectly. Probably the only complaint would come from the family dog who now has to have his heart listened to multiple times each day. .

These are great little sets. Attached are 3 photos with all the foods. I know this has been an issue for many, wondering exactly what comes with it. My only disappointment was that I thought the dinner basket would be the one that had the steak in it as well. Anyway, my daughter loved them because we eat healthy and her grandmother “only bought bad food” (ice cream and cookies) lol. She was ecstatic when she saw them under her kitchen as a surprise. They’re made out of a soft plastic. Not the glossy kind. It has a sort of matte texture to it. .
We bought this for our 18 month old for Christmas to go along with his new play kitchen. He loves the variation of food that comes along with it, and the pieces are extremely well-made, detailed (ie realistic), and sturdy (I spent 10+ years working as an early childhood teacher and this is by far the best quality I’ve ever seen). HOWEVER, I do not agree with the age recommendation for this product. At least, for all of it. The majority of the food is perfect for little hands (and too big to fit in little mouths), but I was able to fill a snack-size ziploc bag with pieces that – by any safety guidelines – are easily considered a choking hazard. (The best rule of thumb is: If it can fit inside a toilet paper/paper towel tube, it is NOT SAFE). If you have a child who has grown out of the mouthing phase, great. But even then, toddlers are still SO unpredictable and in my opinion, better safe than sorry (ex: My little guy has pretend eaten a lot of the bigger pieces as he plays, and has shoved it so forcefully into his mouth, out of sheer enthusiasm, that if it’d been one of the smaller pieces I’m convinced they wouldn’t gone right down his throat.)Again, this is a REALLY great set (and perfectly acceptable in it’s entirety for older kids). If you’re considering purchasing it for a child less than preschool age, I’d still say do it. It’s the best quality you’re going to find, hands down. But be sure to thoroughly weed out the smaller bits (the ones that can easily slide all the way, totally unencumbered, down the length of a paper towel tube). To save you the trouble, those pieces are:CARROT SLICESRASPBERRIESBLUEBERRIESPOTATO CHIPS (I don’t believe those were included in this particular set but were in another learning resources food bundle we bought as well)And, to be extra cautious, I removed the following (they take a bit more effort to push through but could potentially become wedged in the upper airway):CUCUMBER SLICESWHOLE CARROTCHOCOLATE PRETZELSWHOLE STRAWBERRYOverall, would recommend! Just be better safe than sorry! .
This is extremely cute and good quality. We bought it for our 2 year old daughter and I can’t wait to give it to her. The pieces are a heavy plasticy/rubbery feel and the baskets are great. I wish a plate or two were provided with a couple utensils, but we can just use the other play sets we have. I added the contents of this basket in the picture as there have been many questions on what this particular set includes. .
Bought this over a year ago for my (then 2 year old) nephew to go along with his IKEA kitchen set. He still plays with the food on a daily basis, and they have held up great through pretend eating (which turns into biting) and the dog running off with something every now and again. I was looking for a kid’s food set that contained foods close to his healthy diet (vs. junk/fast food), which is hard to find. Some of the foods are hard plastic, which others (like the berries) are soft plastic a squish upon my nephew trying to eat them. The baskets can nest, which makes for easy clean up. Below I listed what each basket contains:11 Pieces of Health Breakfast: basket, banana, berry cluster, cantaloupe, grapefruit, apple, 2 eggs, mini bagel, yogurt, bowl of oatmeal with blueberries.15 Pieces of Health Lunch: basket, bowl, turkey slice, lettuce leaf, tomato slice, 2 pretzels, 2 slices of wheat bread, yogurt, strawberry, red apple, blue berry cluster, red berry cluster and carrot.14 Pieces of Healthy Dinner: basket, grilled chicken, grilled salmon, sweet potato, asparagus bundle, bowl, 3 pieces of lettuce, tomato slice, cucumber slice, 3 carrot crinkles. .

Another really great product!! This is perfect for teaching money skills and it makes it fun! The money looks so real so Lennon really feels like she’s playing with “adult” money! Haha! It has a money matching puzzle, a money game, and price tags. Lennon already loves playing “store” with her cash register, which is also Learning Resources brand, so this just makes it even more of a learning opportunity for her! I highly recommend not only this company but this product! This will be really great for our homeschooling, but it’s great for everyone! .
So excited to start using this. Great starter set to introduce money. The money is actually acceptable size, to real money. The activities are fun and entertaining. .
I have had this for some time now and my daughter and I have been using it to help aide her in life skills. With all of us being home and teaching our kiddos it’s one of the things she really needs to learn.Over all I find it easy for her to tell me the difference between the nickle and the quater, she was able to identify the two. To me that is a challenge even with real money.I like that it comes with items and price games too. .
This is a great set to teach money with! I love how big the paper money is and how realistic the coins look. The piggy bank is fun to use as well as the spinner and cards. We have the Learning Resources cash register and we love that for pretend play as well. Thank you Learning Resources for all your great and quality products! .

Absolutely love this brand for all play toys. I have purchased the munch it! Set, the market set, the 106 piece food set and this dish set and all of these products are unbelievable! Well worth the price! My 2 1/2yr old loves to chew on all her toys and these products hold well. They are very durable and an excellent size. I absolutely love learning resources and I’m so glad I found them!PS: for others like myself who like pictures, I have placed them next to a regular size bottle of johnson baby lotion to compare height and width .
I’m tired of toy kitchen accessories that break in no time at all or present safety hazards for younger siblings. This serve-it set is ideal in so many ways—the chunky silverware is easy for little fingers to grasp, and there are enough place settings (four) to make it fun for more than one child. The bowls, plates and cups are colorful and big enough to use with real snacks or drinks, and all are BPA-free and dishwasher safe. All three kids enjoy playing with the set here, and hooray, no bickering–everyone’s setting looks the same.I’ve given up on most other toy kitchen brands—Learning Resources has proven to make top-quality pretend food and accessories that last through many children. .
This is such a durable little set! We have had it for a couple of years now. It has been through three rambunctious boys, but it still looks brand new for their little sister. We love it! Definitely a perfect gift idea. .
These are super cute. Learning Resources puts out great products. All the items are sturdy and hold up well to heavy play and dropping. None of the utensils are sharp although I try to discourage running with them just incase. These are the only play plates and utensils we own but we have seen others that cost way less. Those work just as well so I feel like these are nice if you can get a good price but you can find the same thing cheaper. Learning Resources food sets really shine and I should have got another one of those for the price. .

So glad I finally bought this set! My 2 year old loves it! This set is the same great quality as other LR sets. So worth the money!Set includes:1 steak1 chicken breast2 ears of corn2 asparagus bundles4 hamburger bun halves2 slices of cheese2 tomato slices2 lettuce leaves2 hamburger patties1 serving tray2 piece grilltongs .
Some parts of this picnic set feel really nice and durable, like the picnic basket. Other parts are dissapointing, like the ketchup and mustard bottles and the watermelon slices. The bottles have crooked strings that hang out the top and I can’t seem to straighten them out. The watermelon has air holes in it so they won’t last long with my drooly, mouthy children before I have to chuck them due to mold/mildew inside the toys. I’m usually really happy with Learning Resources toys so this one was a bummer. .
I’ve purchased three or four other Learning Resources New Sprouts sets in the past, and the ‘Grill it!’ set is as fab as all the others. All the food is realistic-looking & sturdy, as are the the utensils, including the grill itself. My almost four yr. old granddaughter loves serving me, & even her eight yr. old brother still gets a kick out of cooking, serving & ‘eating’ the food! Some people have complained that the food items are very small; well, yeah they’re for little children. But they’re not so small that they’re a choking hazard. There’s just no way you can go wrong with this company! .
This set is unbelievably cute and realistic looking! The perfect size food for 1-6 year olds. I purchased this for my 1-year-old daughter last summer. She and her 4 & 5-year old brothers LOVED it! They still do a year later. They grill food for everyone that comes over. After purchasing this I bought a larger toy grill for our deck and they use all this food with that as well. This was my first Learning Resources purchase, I was so impressed with the quality & durability & realism that I have also purchased other food sets – the pic-nic set, the bakery set (with egg that cracks) and the breakfast set with pancakes, bacon, etc. I recently bought the little garden set with flowers, carrot and radish that you can plant & pick with included shovel and water can. Each set is absolutely wonderful! That being said, this grill set is my favorite, you get such a great variety of foods, the tongs, the grill, the tray . I highly recommend. .

I love these sets of New Sprouts Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner baskets. I couldn’t wait to buy my daughter her very own kitchen since I loved mine so much when I was her age. I shopped around everywhere and read several Amazon reviews when it came to buying the right food to stock her fridge with. I finally settled on the Learning Resources New Sprouts sets. I’m so happy I did and the product exceeded my expectations. Why I Like It:-Very durable and constructed from a foam/rubber like material (has survived being stepped on and put in a toddler’s mouth)- Adorably realistic and perfect for little hands (Food is not to scale, but that was something I was looking for after reading reviews on other foods too big for smaller pots and pans)-Created by a company that encourages creative development. (My best friend works at a school supply store and was very complimentary of the Learning Resources products.)-Teaches good food choices with more options like yogurt and veggies over chips and soda.-My child loves it! (She prefers these to her Melissa & Doug food set because its softer and more realistic)-Comes with shopping baskets that are great for pretend play and clean up!Dislikes:-The products are expensive compared with other plastic food alternatives. (for me the costs was worth it) Learning Resources New Sprouts Breakfast Basket (16 Pieces).
I bought most all their food because its cute and they say the plastic is safe. All of it is soft to the texture. It is the most adorable but small food . SO do some research and see what you think about PVC it is the most toxic. This is crazy. They could have used something else. I returned every set! I went to felt food and most of Melissa and Dougs are safe. Their pancake set is MDF tho as is a few more. .
I purchased the breakfast food basket for my one and a half year old daughter for Christmas because she started pretending to eat and feed her toys. She loves it, particularly the cereal bowl and drinks that have the “cereal†and “orange juice†and “milkshake†in them. I gave her one of her old baby spoons and she will pretend to eat the cereal with it. I keep catching her trying to put them in the sink when she is “done.†I am satisfied with my purchase. .
Very adorable, the basket handles are stiff which is great for toddler to carry, I hate when the handles are loose and they fall down, one thing that I didn’t like was when I opened it my nephew said eww it smells like chemicals, so I grab a piece and smelt it and it in fact did have a horrible chemical smell, I washed every piece before giving it to my 15 month old. That’s sad that our children’s toys have to be coated in chemicals! .

Learning Resources play food is the best (in terms of playfood). This set does not disappoint. Most of the included pieces are found in other Learning Resource New Sprouts Play food sets, but it does have apple slices, swiss cheese, and a bowl of tomato soup with oyster crackers which seem to be unique to this set. My children love the juice box and the glass of milk. The pretzels and cookie are weightier than expected. The swiss cheese slice is thicker and larger than the other (perhaps american?) cheese slice. The glass of milk is about the same size as the empty glasses/cups Learning Resources makes and includes in other sets. The tomato soup with oyster crackers is creative, but compared to other “prepared foods” bowls that Learning Resources makes (cereal, macaroni and cheese, and oatmeal with blueberries), it lacks in texture and the details seem a bit sloppy (but perhaps they were trying to make the crackers seem emerged in the soup). The apple slices are to scale with the whole apple that comes in other sets. A slice is about 1/6th of an apple. I find it interesting that Learning Resources likes to include a slice of salami for the sandwich meat in sandwich sets. How often does someone use a slice of Salami for sandwiches? The turkey slice that comes with the Learning Resources LER9256 Sprouts Complete Play Food Set makes more sense. Also (and this is a minor complaint/suggestion), while my children love the glass of milk, it would be nice of Learning Resources made a half gallon or gallon of milk to encourage children to pretend to pour milk (an important skill when your child has sensory issues). Overall a good set. .
Just ordered the lunch basket for my 22 month old daughter and recieved it today. I am impressed with the quality of the food, it’s very real looking which is what I was looking for! Unfortunately i have to put the apple slices, pretzels, and cookie up until she is older because those pieces are so small she could choke on them. Otherwise very impressed! .
I love the new sprouts play food. It has an amazingly pleasant texture and my daughter (I’ve got twins) gravitates toward any of our learning resources food before the rest. That being said, I think you have to go with the overall preference of your child- if you have a mechanically minded toddler, you might be better off with food that is more interactive, like cutting fruit or something with a removable lid (that’s how my son is). But I adore this set. My 22 month old likes to feed the cookies and apples especially to her baby and makes my husband pretend to tip the whole tomato soup bowl into his mouth and gulp it down. .

29 – Learning Resources Fresh Picked Fruit & Veggie Tote, Pretend Play Food Set, 16 Piece, Ages 2+

I love this play food. It’s the most realistic stuff I’ve been able to find. The pieces are also very durable and easy for little hands to grasp and play with. My sister has a few sets of Learning Resources play food for her kids, so I was familiar with the brand when I purchased this set for my son for his first birthday. My sister’s sets are several years old and are still in perfect condition (except for the ones the dog chewed holes in). The paint does not come off with wear, and the kids haven’t bitten through or torn off parts of the plastic, either. They’re firm but squish-able, and the material is smooth to the touch but not slippery, so little kids can grab onto it without a problem. Though they’re not “life-sized,” the fruits and veggies are a good size for kids, too – they’re not small enough to pose a choking hazard, but also not too big. They’re also not to scale — the head of lettuce is about the same size as the onion, the ear of corn is about four inches long, etc — but the shape, coloring and details are all very life-life. The tote in this set is a cute little addition. A good size for my one-year-old, and all of the fruit fits in it well, without being so full that they fall back out.I’ll be buying more Learning Resources play food for my son in the future! For now, this 16-piece set is a perfect starter set. I don’t need 30-something pieces of play food all over my house yet 🙂 .
I admit it is very hard to find 2 year old friendly pretend fruits and veggies; so, when I saw this product with the recommend age range of 2 + I was very excited. Thank God I watch my son carefully because he managed to break part of the pretend carrot off and had it in his mouth! Now, my child does not mouth objects often at his age, it is usually rare but I knew while he was learning about pretend food that mouthing the object would be a risk, but that was why I picked a product safe for 2 year olds. All I can say is thank God my son listened when I told him to spit out the pieces and that I was watching him. Please be extra cautious with this product! I am giving a one star because this should not be listed as safe for a 2 year old. .
Bought this fruit and veggie set for my 2 year old who received a play kitchen for Christmas. I knew from the reviews not to expect that the veggies filled the little bag completely as pictured, so no disappointment there. The amount provided is more than adequate, and my husband and I were amazed with the amount of detail on each piece. The plastic is soft and thick. Everything about it just feels like a quality product, especially compared to the cheap plastic food that came with our play set. Overall, very please, and won’t hesitate to purchase my Learning Resources products. .
I LOVE this brand. This pretend food looks & feels much more realistic than other brands. Since we already owned the Learning Resources New Sprouts “Munch It” food set, I was disappointed by this assortment. Some of the best looking foods were repeats from the set we already had. I was hoping for some great looking veggies to introduce them to my 18 mo. There’s a head of lettuce, a potato, and an onion, which don’t look very child friendly or in any form a child would recognize on their plate. This set is good for labeling and sorting items by color. The grocery bag is sort of flimsy, and will probably be discarded sooner than later. I recommend the Munch It set instead! 5 stars for that.Includes: (whole, unpeeled, cut, etc.)LemonBananaCarrotPeachCucumberTomatoStrawberryPotatoLettuceApplePlumGrapesBlackberriesPearOnion .

The first set I ordered came missing the gorilla. Because I had gotten them at a cheap price (12$ on sale) I almost didn’t exchange. I’m so glad I did. Please read as there were significant differences as you can see in the photos.the original I received size size were great. But the quality and “paint” job were awful. The seams were horrible and misaligned and the paint was so cheap looking. Honestly dollar store quality. However my son loved them so I exchanged for a new set since the one I order came missing the gorilla. The new set was so different! Much better quality wise. Although the the animals were slightly smaller than the original set, they were solid sturdy heavier plastic (original was light and could be squished). Also the paint design was so much more realistic with the replacement. I’m not sure what’s going on with these items but they were almost like 2 completely different brands but they both said learning resources. Take a look at the pictures and see what I’m talking about.Key points:Original order animals wereLargerLighter softer plasticsqueezableSeams and paint job poorReplacement order:Animals slightly smallerFirmSolid hard plasticSeams matched up, almost couldn’t see themPaint/design more realisticThe original not as nice order came in a much larger box as you can see in the photo I uploaded. .
Don’t panic! I’m going to teach you a very secret technique of the toy collecting hobby. That can permanently fix your zebra’s legs. Without any glue, damage to toy, or any trips your home depot.Ok any vinyl or pvc plastics can be straightened or permanently moved into a new position easily. By heating the plastic with a hair dryer. This does not melt the plastic.melting plastic is VERY dangerous. I will go into that later in this reviewHere’s your zebras problem. .his right rear leg is too long. And his legs are too close togetherHere’s how to fix himOk get your hair dryer on high heat setting. Hold your hair dryer. Very close to the base of his leg on the inner thigh. Where it joins his body.Hold your hair dryer there for about 30 seconds. Don’t overdo it.This won’t melt toy. Just make toy soft and heat it upRemove the hair dryer.TURN OFF HAIR DRYERImmediately take your zebra and pull his legs apart from each other. pull them Farther apart then desired position. While still holding legs. immediately run your zebra under cold water.Time is of the essence!Run under the water untill the plastic cools and hardens. Do this for each of his legs. I had to repeat these steps for the results I wanted.Took less than ten minutes. Now I have a zebra that stands wellAnd I’ll be able to enjoy him for a lifetime.Hope this helps you. This technique works only for soft plastics. Not for rubber or hard plasticsAnd is best for arms, legs, and little accessories like swords and guns. also crucial to tell you.if you research this most people suggest boiling water for this technique. This is VERY dangerous. This will melt or otherwise destroy your toy. And, the melting of the plastic produces fumes that are dangerous. NEVER melt a toy. Also from a toy collecting view point.Vinyl toys are not cheap. In fact they are highly sought after. They are easy to clean. And have unmatched durability. These toys are not low quality. They do not have the detail you find in a schleich or papo animal replicas. But, does you preschooler care about detail. They probably just want to have fun .
I’m a little surprised at the wide variety of reviews for these. Perhaps the sets are not consistent? All I can review are the ones we received and we are very happy with them. These figures are larger than I had expected. The Giraffe is 13 high and the elephant is 12 long. The colors are bright and vibrant and reasonably realistic. My little one is hard on her toys and so far these are holding up very well. I’ll update this review if she starts to wear them out! These are not cheap but I found them to be a good value. As with many items on Amazon it pays to watch pricing on items like these. This set and the farm animal set both ran as recent lighting deals at almost 50% off. Score!Note: I see a lot of people trying to compare these to the Schleich animals. The prices are roughly similar with Schleich being slightly higher per figure. I ordered three Schleich animals that I think will be good to match with this set. I’ll report back on how they compare!Update: I purchases three Schleich animals. I was curious as to how they would compare to the Learning Resources sets and I figured a few more animals in our collection couldn’t hurt! Here is my overall comparison:Price – Learning Resources seem to average out as less per animal.Quality – Schleich animals are much more sturdy. Apparently they are solid while the Learning Resources animals are hollow. Honestly there are advantages to both here. My daughter is 3 years old and I prefer the softer Learning Resources animals. They are soft to the touch and fairly flexible. I feel they are safer for toddler play both on your child and on your furniture! The soft Learning Resources animals are not going to damage small hands or your coffee table. The Schleich animals are hard enough to do some damage if smacked against your furniture or you child!Size – Learning Resources animals are larger. Once again I find this better especially for younger children.Realism – Schleich wins this hands down. The detail of each animal is better with Schleich and the colors seems to be much more realistic. If these are for education purposes especially with school age children Schleich may be the way to go. On the other hand the brighter colors of the Learning Resources animals may be better for preschoolers. Now that I have had the change to compare both brands I still prefer the Learning Resources animals for preschoolers. This seems to be the target audience for these sets. For older kids you may want to look more seriously at Scheich. .
What a dreadful quality, rubbish and completely over priced set! The giraffes neck is bent in half and wont go back into place, the tiger is more red than orange, the lion could of been painted better by a 3 year old and the feel of the animals is so cheap crap plastic its untrue with clear joins where the parts have been stuck together, i have seen better quality animals in the pound shop! Considering the cost of this set i was expecting something better quality, thank God i only bought one set as I had planned to order a few! Also I stupidly believed the good reviews of other buyers which i can only presume now are all fake or something because no one could possibly be happy with this! Disgusted! .

31 – Learning Resources Smart Scoops Math Activity Set, Stacking, Sorting, Early Math Skills, 55 Pieces, Ages 3+

I enjoyed buying and collecting educational learning activities for my day care!! Every payday I try to buy a few things for the toddlers I watch and teach I have bought a few educational things from this brand learning resources and thought they are pretty decent until I bought this one First of all it is soooooo small!!! The box is about 4-5 inches wide, 3 inches tall and 3 inches deep (front to back) which is way smaller than expected, it looked bigger in the pictures .The scooper doesn’t not even fit in the box so it defeats the purpose of even having it!!!You cannot scoop the ice cream with the cones if you are a child, not any of the 3 toddlers that tried could do it and I could see the frustration in their faces!!The cones are so tiny too!!!The plastic bowls are very thin cheap plastic!!!I am highly disappointed in this activity set!!! It is not worth the money I spent, I am debating on returning and buying a different set!!!! I like the other sets I own in this brand I don’t know what went wrong with the design of this one!!!I wouldn’t recommend this if you are looking for a color sorting activity or counting activity there are many more sets available. This one will not grab the interest of the child, just giving you a heads up these 3 here were not interested in at all within 5 min this set was non existent .
The spinner is not sturdy it skates all over the floor. The parts are small, really, really small. Not enough scoops to play all of the pattern cards you would have to dump a completed icecream back into the container if you wanted to continue playing. I love play food stuff, so this really appealed to me and my kiddo but overall it was not large enough and the spinner was not functional so I am returning it. The concept is cool, so two honest stars for this one! .
This was the surprise hit of Christmas at our house! I got this game for free to post about it elsewhere online and love it enough I wanted to review it here too. When this game came on Christmas Eve, I decided to go ahead and put it in with the other gifts for my 5 year old who has special needs. He not only liked it, he loved it and played with it more than anything else he got for Christmas! I would definitely recommend this for people who are looking for a pre-k or kindergarten level math manipulative or learning game. The pieces are small, which is great for fine motor skills, but they aren’t any smaller than like counting bears or the little connecting blocks you would use for base 10 math skills with the same age group. It would definitely need to be used under adult supervision only for anyone who still puts things in their mouth. Anyway, there are lots of fun options with it like color sorting, counting, simple addition and subtraction, pattern work, etc and I can tell we are going to get lots of fun and lots of learning from this set! .
Our son is 3.5 and autistic. He develops very specific appreciations for objects. His therapist brought over an ice cream game and he just loved it.This is not the same game but I really like it and so does he. It is small (my hand in the photo holding scoops and a cone). But I think our son actually really enjoys the tiny size. The game itself is quite versatile. At this point the cards and spinner do not seem to appeal to him. But sorting colors into the bowls and on the cones does. Also verbally requesting for him to create a pattern is fairly entertaining at this point. All in all, I give this a 5 star rating. The only thing I wish is for the ice cream box to be slightly larger. As of yet, I can’t figure out how to fit everything in the box. I am guessing you should be able to .

I bought these because the Melissa and Doug Metal pots and Pans we have are so small they can’t hold play food! Just look at the size difference in the photo! Melissa and Doug on the Left and this on the right. These are the perfect size and I love learning Resource play food. The reason this doesn’t get 5 stars is because the included play food pieces are not the ones that learning resources actually sells in their food sets. What they include here is cheap trash. A corn on the cob that can be crushed with your fingers.I didn’t buy this for the extra pieces- I only wanted the pots and pans which fit out Melissa and Doug wood kitchen perfectly. I love that they are a light plastic that doesn’t make noise when he bangs on them. This was one of my issues with the metal stuff- it was too dang loud, and too small. I’ve added photos for size references. This is by far the best. .
I am a huge Learning Resources fan but this pot and pan set is so cheap that it is hard to believe it is from the same company. The set comes with a stock pot, a sauce pan, a skillet, 2 clear plastic lids, a spatula, a cooking spoons, a knife, a oven mitt, a chicken leg, corn on the cob, carrot and fry egg and write and wipe activity guide. If you are wondering what the sizes are: the pot is shy of 3 deep x 6 wide with a 1.5 handle on each side, the pan is shy of 3 deep x 6 with a 4.5 handle and the skillet is also 6 wide but only 1.5 deep with a 4.5 handle. The 2 lids fits on top of the pot, pan and skillet but they can’t be stacked on top of each other without tipping over. Which makes it annoying to store. All the play food fits inside the cookwares. Nice small size for young toddler hands and very light-weight which is great for the younger kids. The play food is made with a much thinner plastic that reminds be of Chinese take-out container lids. The oven mitt is nice and thicker than others that I have received with kitchen sets. I didn’t have 2 spoons as stated in the descriptions instead I have what looks like a flat knife-like mixing spatula and a long flat measuring spoon with a scoop on each end. The cooking spatula does not have a black grip-like handle with 4 slits like in the photo.I am wondering if my set was a mistake because the cooking spatula is 2 inch shorter than the other cooking tools and it looks nothing like the ad. PHOTOS under my profile. Also, the lids are so cheap that mine came with a small crack on the edge and I am afraid that over time it will crack all the way through. This is a nice started set but I can not see it lasting longer than a year. The lids, pot, pan, and skillet’s black handles are held together with tiny thin screws. If they are dropped too hard or banged too often, or perhaps even stepped on, that’s the end of this set.The only thing I like are the play food, cooking tools and the oven mitt. For the price I paid for this set it is not worth it and I rather return it and buy my daughter a different set and play food separately. .
These worked nicely when we gave our 3yo a play kitchen for Christmas. We call her The Destroyer for a reason, so we intentionally bought something kinda cheap, not wanting to spend a lot on something she would likely break. These have held up nicely, to be honest. Surprised us at the quality. BUT the one thing that annoyed me a little was that when we first opened the box, the lids didnt fit well. They (or maybe the pots?) Were just slightly warped. No matter. She couldnt care less. She has put them through heck and they are still working great! .
All Learning Resource food sets are amazing! They are played with daily and I highly recommend this brand for all play food sets!Cons: the food is not the normal Learning Resource food. It’s a thinner, cheap looking version.Pros: the pots and pans are great! The utensils and hot pad are also used daily. .

33 – Learning Resources New Sprouts Stack of Baskets, Pretend Play, Play Grocery Basket, 4 Pieces, Ages 18 mos+

I absolutely love Learning Resource products – especially their play food and kitchen items. These shopping baskets are perfect for my new home grocery store for my grandchildren to go shopping for me when they come to visit. They are small and will fit a few pieces of fruit or vegetables or some of my homemade canned goods. The colors are vibrant and being that they are all different, the kids won’t have to share! .
Loved These! They are really a good quality, better than expected. I was concerned about the labels as others mentioned, however, when I received them (perhaps the company saw the reviews?), I removed the labels with ease and it came off all in one piece. Would buy this again in a heartbeat! .
I had to wash these baskets multiple times with Goo Gone to get the adhesive from the labels off of them. The labels aren’t shown in the photo, but they covered the entire bottom of the baskets – EACH basket. After literally an hour of scrubbing and using unpleasant chemicals, and then more washing to get rid of the smell, I finally gave them to my kids. They love the baskets, but I would probably not buy them again. .
The baskets are well made and of good quality. I do have a problem with the aggressive labeling of this product though. Each basket has a very large promotional sticker for the company that sells these that takes up the entire inside floor of each basket. I would not have a problem with this if these labels were affixed with an easily removed adhesive but they are not. I have been trying to remove these labels and the adhesive for the past 12 hours without success. The label itself is finally off but I have yet to find a way to successfully remove the glue and I have tried many solvents, soaps, and oils. The glue will make these baskets very hard to keep clean and sanitary. .

34 – Learning Resources Pretend Play Cash ‘N’ Carry Wallet, Play Money, Nylon & Velcro Wallet, Basic Math and Money Skills, 73 Pieces, Ages 3+
Top Reviews
Good quality and useful. It will keep my daughter away from my wallet and the coin bank which is good. It is a big wallet for a two year old but all the more easier for her to play with it. .
We got this wallet to go along with the learning resources cash register. It’s a good idea, but just seems like the final product could use some work. In particular:-The wallet doesn’t close well or easily when the credit cards, change and money are in it.-The shape when it is folded is awkward.- It’s not easy to get change in and out of- the material feels very cheap. My 3 year old has barely touched this. Maybe as he gets older and his dexterity improves it will be easier to use and more interesting. For now, this just hasn’t been the best purchase. .
Bought specifically to have extra (replacement) cash to go with our Learning Resources Pretend & Play Calculator Cash Register. The cash is green tinted like real money, (same as cash register) unlike the white cash that Learning Resources sells as replacement money. The wallet comes with the same number and denomination of cash and coins as the cash register.I don’t care that much about the wallet but it seems sturdy. It’s really nice to have spare money to put aside to replace cash register money as it becomes damaged or lost. .
After getting a new wallet, I gave my 4 year old son my old one. I also let him play with my old credit card that had expired. I wasn’t real excited about this since it’s a valid number, I just received a new card with a new expiration date. After searching Amazon for pretend credit cards, I found this it was perfect. My son had complained that my old wallet was too ‘girly’ for him, so this is much better. Plus he gets his own credit card and bank card, and I was able to cut up my expired one.The play money is good to teach him about counting money, but the coins are cheap and awkward. They’re too big and you get way too many. I ended up throwing them out and giving him real change to carry around.Overall, I’m glad I got this for him. It was cheap, he’s happy now that he has a wallet to carry around like Daddy, and I’m happy that he’s no longer playing with my old credit card. .

35 – Learning Resources New Sprouts Pasta Time, Pretend Play, Play Food, 20 Piece Set, Ages 2+
Top Reviews
Just got this today and am impressed with the detail of these food sets. Looking at the packaging, you’d THINK the pasta pieces would feel like hard plastic. Not so! They are of a softer plastic/rubber material that is pleasantly squishy, yet bounces back like al dente pasta. The only thing that could improve this set would be for the Parmesan shaker to sound like it has something rattling inside. It might be a safety hazard and that’s why that detail wasn’t included in this set. And the Learning Resources dishes are on the thin flat side. But you buy these sets for the cute food. .
I am glad to get these as my 3 year old has a kitchen set, but wants more play food. This one is perfect to add to her foods to play with. She is going to love them. Great for pretend play and great quality. .
This set is adorable! My daughter loves straining the pasta and dumping it on the plates. Shes 1 1/2 and having a blast with this set! .
My granddaughter has a lot of fun with it .

36 – Learning Resources Pretend & Play Rise & Shine Breakfast Play Food, 21 Piece Set, Ages 3+, Multicolor

This is an excellent start to stocking a kids kitchen because it comes with more than just food. These play foods are high quality, and my 2 year old daughter loves playing with them. I chose this set for two reasons: 1) We actually eat most of these foods, and 2) There isn’t an overwhelming assortment. I purposely avoided the 100+ item packages because I wanted clean up to be easier and I also wanted a more quality product. My only complaint with this set is that the egg is hard to get back into the shell (tough for me, impossible for my toddler). The pop-up toaster is really cute, and my daughter also loves the plates, cup, skillet, and spatula. If you have found this review helpful, please give me a positive vote! .
Disappointed! Toaster is flimsy!! My grandchildern enjoyed this set immediately. However, after about 3 times of pushing down the toast handle, the mechanism inside the toaster broke. I returned this set and ordered a replacement. This time I tried the the toaster – it worked the first 2 times but this one also broke on the third try! The spring inside snappped . Obviously, it is defective and constructed poorly. I did not return this set as they did enjoy playing with the other items – they now manually hold the handle down for a second or so and release it . I am disappointed with Learning Resources! .
I have purchased learning resources foods before and have always found them to be of a great quality and worth the price, this set was no different. I worried that the toaster and velcro cutable foods were going to be destroyed by my twin daughters and their overly enthusiastic approach to cooking, but they have held up great! Much better than some of our other play foods and cooking set. I would definitely recommend this set for kids who like creative play and cooking. The only thing that is a little silly and I ultimately had to remove from the set was the egg’s shell. The egg is great; I would buy more of the cracked eggs if they were sold separately, but the shell doesn’t fit together right and it is difficult to get the actual egg in to it. My kids would get frustrated trying to get the egg back together on their own and even more so when I wouldn’t do much better than they had; so it now lives in a hard to reach cabinet with all the other misfit lost toys. .
This was my first Learning Resources play food purchase. I did a lot of research before deciding what brand of play food was considered the best and this brand was what everyone was raving about. The quality of this set is questionable. All reviewers said the food was high quality plastic with a rubbery feeling. Nothing in this set feels like that at all. The bread slice is laughably small and feels like a bath toy. It is hollow with a pinhole in the bottom, but has the rubber feeling. The egg yolk is rubber but difficult to fold to shut it inside of the hard plastic shell. The waffle is also ridiculously small but feels like better quality. I’m not sure yet how it’s velcro will hold up. The strawberry is huge in comparison to the bread and waffle, and is hollow foam with velcro. I’m not sure if I was supposed to receive a knife with this set to cut the velcro items, but if I was, I definitely didn’t receive one. The muffin is a cheap feeling hard plastic, I know there are blueberries inside of it, but previous reviews stated the muffin top kept coming off. Since I can now see this set is poor quality, I’m trying to refrain from removing the top because it at least stays on (for now). Since this is a Christmas gift, I didn’t want to open all the tiny plastic bags, so I do not have a review for the pancakes or bacon. From what I can tell, the cup of juice, plates, pan, toaster, and serving utensil were the best quality items in this set. We are keeping this set mainly for the toaster. But for anyone considering ordering this for the brand name, or for the toaster, look elsewhere. I would definitely recommend passing this one up. I’m hoping the rest of the Learning Resources food is better quality, and this one is just a fluke. This play food is way too expensive to deliver shoddy work. .

Hands down the best! I knew after I bought the Learning Resources play food that adding this set would add a nice touch to my daughter’s kitchen. My daughter likes to throw things and trust me, these pieces are sturdy to the point where sturdy is an understatement. Bare in mind that they do have an odor to it so wiping them clean before having your toddler play with them. Definitely would recommend!! .
My son is at the age for tea parties and other pretend play, but EVERYTHING I can find is pink. I don’t care if he plays with pink toys but at the same time I don’t really want to support brands that are clearly marketing everyday toys as “this is a girly toy for girls that all girls will loveâ€. This set is perfect for several reasons. It’s more unisex (again, pink toys aren’t just for girls but it does get obnoxious)My family drinks coffee more than tea so this is actually more interesting to my sonIt’s so durable! You can expect this with any Learning Resources toy, but it’s always going to be a win .
I searched for days to find just the right food and dish sets for my grand-kids to have in there kitchen at my house. I wanted something cute, sized nicely and sturdy. Well these Learning Resource New Sprouts sets are PERFECT. They are by far the cutest sets I have seen and believe me having two kids and four grand-kids I have seen a lot of play foods. I know they are a little more but these will last and last. Even my grand-daughter who is seven said “these are the cutest sets I have seen.” I have purchased four of the sets and each one is cuter than the other. Next on my list is the dessert set. .
Love the feel of these! Learning resources is the only play food I will spend my money on. But I have never had anything other than the food from them. I LOVE this. They have a nice weight to them, and the texture is really enjoyable. It’s hard to describe. My kids love it too! They range from 2-15 and all play with it!I also purchased this used (damaged/open box) and it not only contained everything, but everything was still sealed in place. Great experience all around. .

Glad I bought this set. All the pieces are high quality and perfectly sized for little hands. Learning Resources makes the best play food! Worth every penny. So far I have spent about $100 on Learning Resources play food and other LR products. I plan to buy more because you really do get what you pay for.Set includes:1 basket1 chicken breast1 salmon fillet1 bundle of asparagus1 baked sweet potato1 tomato slice1 cucumber slice3 carrot slices3 pieces of lettuce1 bowl .
I love these products! I have purchased toy food for my oldest kids ages 19 and 21 down to my youngest son age 3. I am astonished at the quality and realism of today’s toy foods. This set is plastic, but I must say, it is a solid thick plastic that does not bend, crease, or fold. I have purchased many other learning resource sets on account of this top quality. I like too, that the foods are healthy choices and easily recognizable. My son knows the tomato, carrots, and chicken. He is learning what the asparagus and salmon is, but that is great. I find this an excellent way to introduce other foods to my child he might not ever have in our home. The bowl is high quality as well. I have put it my dishwasher (top rack) after he used it with real food. The basket is a solid construction. I am using it for other purposes around the house! You cannot go wrong. .
The detail on these toys is amazing. My son has no trouble identifying the food items he already knows thanks to that detail. The plastic it’s made out of is strong stuff- my son likes to bite them occasionally but there aren’t any discernible bite marks. Nice to know I invested in sturdy toys for my rambunctious little guy. .
The detail in these Learning Resources playfood sets can’t be beat! If you have bought other LR playfood sets before and are contemplating this one, what are you waiting for? .

I love the design, so real like and eye catching.I hoped to make the recipient happy. However it will be returned because it is made with PVC and contains carcinogens. Parents don’t want to expose their children to PVC.It would be of great help if there was a statement “contains PVC’, so we don’t find that out after the purchase. .
I almost bought the Melissa and and Doug salad but the price went up right before I made the purchase so I got this one instead. I am so glad I did! This thing is tough and it’s the most played with item in my sons kitchen. The food is made of tough rubber and even a childs pretend biting does not leave marks. It is not flimsy like the felt leaves and even with all of our many pets it does not collect fur.He LOVES the tongs. He seems to be able to use them well after I showed him that he has to grip them lower. I love the bowls. They are perfect for sorting and counting. It comes with 4 tomatoes, 4 carrots, 4 cucumbers, 8 yellow bell peppers, 6 dark lettuce leaves and 6 light lettuce leaves, tongs, a large salad bowl and 4 small blue bowls. It is plenty for an awesome salad to share! .
Great!! Awesome quality. There 12 leaves of lettuce. 8 bell peppers. 4 tomatoes. 4 cucumbers. 4 carrots. 3 blue bowls. 1 large orange bowl and 1 tong .
Learning resources has some of the BEST play good sets around, hands down. They are realistic, durable & made of quality materials! I initially ordered the salad kit, expecting the atypical Melissa & Doug type kit and I was BLOWN AWAY! In my opinion this brand exceeds the more expensive ones for much better price points and oh the variety!!. The soup kit is awesome, as is the BBQ grill. Some kits have age recommendations that start at 18 months (probably more a testament to their safety standards), do not let that sway you. They are perfect for older kids as well. I purchased for a almost 6 year old and she loves it!!!! This brand will definitely be my go to for gifts in the future! .

My daughter and I LOVE this product (and other products from this company). These are quality toys!I wanted to get my daughter some real quality pretend food items because she loves to pretend to cook or have pretend restaurants, but every time I’ve gone to the store, the toy food stuff looks cheap. I remember having some really nice toy food as a child and I loved it, so I lamented. Until I discovered this brand!!My daughter got this for Christmas, and a package deal of the breakfast, lunch, and dinner sets. She went crazy and immediately decided to open up a restaurant in the living room. My daughter has a hard time with being willing to go to school consistently, day-in and day-out, so her reward for not missing any school days (other than due to illness) is going to be a set of food toys from this company. The price is reasonable and the durability is excellent, so it’s win-win. So far, it’s been the PERFECT incentive! :DAs a minor note – the fruit items AND the bowl retain small amounts of water, so don’t put them in the bath. We tried it. Lol. And it wasn’t the end of the world, but it took some time getting the water out, and we won’t be doing that again. .
So cute and unique! This was my first Learning Resources discovery. I ended up ordering several items for my 2 year old for Christmas. Each one is very nice and a great way for us to encourage healthy eating habits! The only thing I wish was that there were watermelon pieces in the watermelon fruit bowl! LOL!! But the listing clearly says what is included, so that is not an issue with the description of the product. I only gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because LR is kind of expensive for toy food. But the quality is definitely there and this isn’t the type of toy food that looks like it will be mashed/messed up easily. My daughter now has a stocked cupboard! .
Coolest play food EVER!I have a small family child care so this will be abused. I have 4 year olds who step on everything, held up strong. I have 18 month olds that chew on everything, colors stayed fast. I waited on my comment till after to see how it handled life in our world. This is a great product, best play food I have ever purchased, and I have purchased a lot! I have gone back and bought many of the other sets since getting this one.BTW – this was my favorite, so creative in design! .
I bought a set of food toys from another brand for a relative and watched her squashed and plattened a plastic strawberry. You will not see it happen this this set. Very good quality toy. My son never liked eating fruit but since this I bought this set he suddenly recognized kiwi and has been eating this fruit ever since. Although sometimes he gets confused and started chewing on this toy but at least he took interest to fruit. .

41 – Learning Resources New Sprouts Stir Fry Set
Top Reviews
I bought this set for my 2-year-old son to go along with his new play kitchen and I was way more impressed with the product in person than I thought I would be! The ONLY complaint I have is with the color of the wok. The vegetables, spoon and tongs are so realistic and perfectly colored that the purple wok just takes away from the realism of the set. (Not to mention, it also doesn’t match with his kitchen.) But that aside, the tongs are perfect for helping him work on fine motor skills (pre-writing skills) and the vegetables are appropriately size to make this challenging. For example, the broccoli is lumpy and easy to pick up no matter how it is lying in the wok, but the flat carrot pieces are a little harder, forcing him to move his wrist in the right direction to get it between the “grabber” of the tongs. This is his favorite part with the set- he has even taken the tongs to bed with him and points out real ones at restaurants, in the grocery store hot food section and at home because of this set! All of the food pieces are durable, firm plastic but are also soft at the same time. The fortune cookie is an adorable addition to this set. The plastic take-out box is very sturdy, which came to my surprise, but my son has trouble getting it open by himself, and getting it close has been impossible for him! That is no big deal to us, as he asks for my help when he wants to put his veggies inside. Overall, what a great set to encourage fine motor skills and healthy eating habits. And it’s just as much fun for me to play with as my son! .
Just got this set today. The size of the food pieces are a little on the small size compared to other Learning Resources food sets I’ve purchased in the past, but they are highly detailed and I love the feel and weight of the food plastic. And to be fair, the smaller vegetable sizes probably have everything to do with a stir fry consisting of chopped vegetables. It’s just a bit of an initial shock, especially if you own any of the other food sets from this brand. The wok has the same thin flat feel to it that most Learning Resources dishware has no matter the set you buy. But it’s good they keep the focus primarily on designing detailed, colorful, imaginative food. The bell pepper slices, fortune cookie, and peas are such a cute touch. And although the plastic food carton seems sturdier than I thought it would be, the foldable food flaps could be a little difficult for a child to manipulate, and the “stress marks†where they fold are a bit concerning. They look like they could eventually tear if manhandled over time.

I also like that the colors are bright without being too obnoxious and are gender-neutral.This set in particular is great. The little wok is so cute and the tongs are great for teaching dexterity. We have four of these sets now and I have no regrets. .

42 – Learning Resources Pretend & Play School Set Accessory Kit

My sweet daughter always dreams to become a teacher someday. With this accessory kit, she alway use this in playing with her other siblings. Every weekends, she always pretends that she’s a teacher and her younger brothers are her students. It’s funny and cute, I’m happy they are having fun. .
My daughter, aged 7, LOVES to play school so I got her this for Christmas. She’s always grabbing odds and ends to “teach her students”. I figured this would be a perfect addition for her. Although she seemed to like it, it just wasn’t enough for her. If you’re thinking about getting this item, I suggest spending the little extra money and getting the portable classroom one (that has the blackboard and pointer and calendars to it). We ordered that once I realized these sheets weren’t enough, and she LOVES that item. All in all, this isn’t a bad item. I’m not too sure why she didn’t care for these sheets alone, but it just wasn’t enough for her. Yes, my child is spoiled! lol .
The learning set, along with this accessory kit, were a birthday gift for my 6 year oldgranddaughter. Her sisters, ages 4 and 10, are also having fun “playing school†with this well made set. .
This was ok and I guess will have to do for a Christmas gift but thought the cards would be larger and more like a card and not just paper. Cute idea but just wish it was better quality .

43 – Learning Resources New Sprouts Bushel of Veggies, 9 Colorful Veggies, Ages 18 mos+
Top Reviews
I will echo the very very very strong chemical smell. I purchased this in July’17 and am just getting aroudn to writing a review in late Sept’17. Very unfortunately missed the return deadline, but we are going to pitch it at this point. We opened up the plastic wrapping upon receipt and were overwhelmed by the strong chemical odor. VERY strong, and just did not smell good or right. Really uncomfortable having my 18-mo old child play with this. We washed 1 piece w/ dishsoap to see if there was an improvement; there was a minor improvement. However, after nearly 2 months of sitting on a shelf, in going to process the return, I pulled out the other veggies in the bushel – the rest of the them *still* smelled quite chemical-ly / toxic even after all this time. So we are pitching it. Strongly recommend that Learning Resources go back to their China-based manufacturer and triple-check that changes have not been made that LR is not aware of; I know firsthand that this happens all the time – part and parcel of working with many companies over there. Very disappointed bc the color, size, and types of veggies were all otherwise perfect. :/ .
I wanted some veggies to go with another basket set that I previously purchased. I decided on this one because I was very satisfied with the breakfast basket quality and trusted this brand. The veggies are all smaller and not true to actual size, but this doesn’t bother me. The carrots and asparagus are tiny, but heavy and good quality and NOT a choking hazard for our 1 year old.Unfortunately, this basket of veggies had an odd chemical smell to them. I was disappointed as this was not the case with my first Learning Resources food purchase. So, I immediately washed them in hot soapy water, which got rid of the smell for the asparagus and carrots, but the remaining veggies still smelled bad. (NOTE:DO NOT submerge all in water. I made this mistake and discovered a few actually have holes in them and so they ended up with some water inside that I had to squeeze out. Mold hazard!) I placed the remaining veggies outside in the sun and after a couple hours the smell was gone. Problem solved and not a huge deal, but when purchasing items like this, that you know your child will be mouthing, it’s a bit concerning when they have a toxic chemical smell. .
I said in a prior review that we did not need any more fruits and veggies. I also said that I liked them to be wood and not cheap plastic. Well – we got more veggies, we needed to find broccoli! These are not cheap plastic though. These are a decent soft plastic. They are sturdy and handle a lot of play. The veggies are not super small, although note that the basket is small – not life size. They have gotten a lot of use. We will not be buying anymore fruit/veggies! Highly recommend. I would give as a gift.Update: 2+ years, lots of play, survived the dishwasher, still look brand new. .
I did tons’o research here on amazon to buy some starter play food for my 21 mo. old daughter who just got a play kitchen. I know there are die hard wooden food enthusiasts, and I almost went that route except 1) we have hard wood floors and 2) we have a small dog. My daughter likes to throw things and I didn’t want to hear wood pieces clanging all over the floor and also didn’t want to worry about her throwing hard wood pieces at the dog! So for plastic, I settled on the learning resources brand and started with this bushel of veggies. Kinda wish I would have gone with the bigger veggie sorting kit – these pieces are adorable. While I agree that they are smaller in size than the real deal – I personally am happy with that. The pieces are perfect for her little hands are totally proportionate with her play kitchen. Any bigger wouldn’t make sense to me, but that’s just my opinion. Quality is high – the basket is really nice hard plastic and the veggies are more rubbery, but you can see very durable, and very nice detail on each veggie. I mean the asparagus – come on – its adorable. My one and ONLY complaint is that yes, when I opened that box – whew! Super strong chemical/plastic/paint smell. I’ve read that Learning Resources is careful to use safe materials (bpa free etc ) So my hope is that after a little air out the smell will dissipate. Hence the 4 stars. If the smell goes away I will update to 5 stars and will very likely be order more from this company! .

This set contains spaghetti noodles, sauce with meatballs, grilled chicken breast, beans, peas, potato, 5 carrot sticks, 4 apple slices, glass of milk, French bread slice, and basket.Cons: can’t take milk out of glassPros: all of the food is realistic, the apple slices add up to half of an appleLearning Resources food is somewhat bendable. The sauce and carrot sticks can give quite a bit, giving it a more realistic feel. Great set!By the way, I contacted Learning Resources about the safety of their plastic and this is their response. We take safety very seriously and all of our products meet or exceed safety standards. I am writing to assure you that all our product meets Learning Resources high standards for toy safety. They do NOT contain phthalates or lead and are made of PVC and low density polyethylene. They do not contain BPA and is made with PVC plastics. We take safety very for all of our children’s products and toys are evaluated against the standards set forth by the Consumer Products Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA). This includes testing for certain phthalates (a plasticizer used to make plastic soft), lead in paint, lead in substrate and compliance with the testing guidelines set forth by ASTM F-963. .
I noticed that some reviewers complained of rings and markings on the plastic food so I had some concern but the set I received did not have any imperfections. My favorite piece has to be the spaghetti sauce. I actually like the rubbery/flexible texture since it makes the food much more realistic. The carrots are quite small and seem to be made from a thinner, cheaper plastic than what is normally in Learning Resources sets. The quality of the other pieces are good. It almost feels like two dinners since it includes bread and pasta (meal #1) and chicken breast with baked potato, peas, carrots and baked beans(meal #2). Overall this should make a great addition to a kids kitchen. .
We own many of the Learning Resources play food sets and have loved them all because they’ve been such excellent quality so I didn’t think twice about ordering this one. You get spaghetti with separate sauce/meatball, potato, garlic bread slice, carrots, chicken breast, peas, 4 apple wedges, pile of beans, and a milk cup. I did like the healthy food choices included in the set to promote healthy eating habits and also the excellent detailing on the pieces, such as the individual spaghetti strands and the ridges in the bread slice. I also like the basket to hold all the items and for easy storage. However, I was extremely disappointed in its quality compared to the other Learning Resources sets, especially for the price I paid. Many of the pieces are made of the same cheap plastic that other play foods are made of. The chicken breast caves in and looks like someone took a Sharpie and drew on the grill marks. The carrots are one of the only vinyl pieces, but they are so small, they are a choking hazard. But the biggest disappointment of all was the spaghetti sauce/meatballs. It was made of the thinnest vinyl and already had a tear in it when we got it, so you can imagine how a toddler would rip it even more by just playing; it also looks like a pile of vomit, so the realism of it was a disappointment too as compared to the other food items. It’s true that even this disappointment of a set is still better than most play food sets, but it wasn’t the quality I had come to expect from Learning Resources and definitely wasn’t worth the price I paid. Skip this one! .
Bought this for my 21 month old granddaughter and she loves it. It’s a nice mixture of play foods- including spaghetti with or without meatballs & marinara. The peas are a bright pretty green- a favorite with her. The beans are a little weird- we just called them grapes because she really doesn’t know from beans at this stage. The potato does look like a dark brown rock, but that’s okay. The bread slice is great, the chicken filet just fine, the glass of milk kind of gratuitous. My only two objections are: 1)It always worried me when she picked up the carrots. They are very cute but just too tiny and could be swallowed. I’m just lucky that my granddaughter has long since passed that stage of putting stuff in the mouth. 2) It’s a classic manufacturing cheat that they make it look like there’s a whole lot of food in that basket, but really there’s a cardboard platform inside the basket that the food sits on. Once you throw that out, you realize the foods only take up about 1/3 of the basket. – Oh- should mention the basket. It’s terrific. So bright and pretty and extremely durable. My granddaughter decided she wanted to sit in it- pretty tight squeeze, as you can imagine- but she did it and loved it, also stood in it, just loves that basket and will undoubtedly carry all kinds of things around in it in the years to come. Overall, definitely recommend this as a great pretend-play toy. .

This was the perfect accessory for my sons Mad Science themed party! He is about 60lbs and a little over 4 foot and it fit great. It was also delivered quickly. I highly recommend it. .
This lab coat and goggle science gear kit is a hit with my 6-year-old niece! We gave it took her for Christmas along with her first microscope (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00I0CDSFY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s05?ie=UTF8&psc=1), prepared slides (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0009K4ED0/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s05?ie=UTF8&psc=1), and a science kit (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BURAP2/ref=od_aui_detailpages04?ie=UTF8&psc=1). The goggles are adjustable and will grow with her ever-expanding brain and the lab coat fits her perfectly (she’s the tallest in her class). She loves these and we get lots of pictures throughout each week of her playing with her science tools, kit, and gear. She has also made her lap coat a main-stay in her weekly school attire. It is no surprise, really, since science is awesome and girls love science! After we got these for her, she told us she wants to grow up to be a science doctor so she can do lots of fun experiments because she loves science! How could you not just love a 6-year-old that already dreams of getting a PhD in nuclear fusion!? Looks like next Christmas we will have to get her, her very first hadron collider.I just hope thirty years from now she remembers who got her, her first science lab gear. 😉 .
My almost 3 year old daughter is going through a phase where she wants to be a doctor, be it the result from her regular check ups and/or Disney’s Doc McStuffins show. I picked this up for her and while the goggles are definitely too big and the coat required just a little sleeve rolling . SHE LOVED IT. The material is well made and stitched. It has gone into the washer and dryer without issue. It ended up being plan B on Halloween as well. Thanks was a purchase I did not regret. She’s on the smaller side (15-20th percentile) and it was just fine. .
Such a wonderful product for budding scientist! My family loves everything science related, my 6 year old daughter is top of her class in science! So, naturally, we ordered her this lab coat & goggle set for our experiments! She feels like a real scientist when she wears these & gets very excited to learn & experiment! We are entering the schools science fair this year! A great product for pretend play but also great to use during actual science experiments! The goggles go on like sun glasses & the ear pieces are adjustable, pulling out to accommodate larger head sizes. The only thing I would change on this is adding pockets to the lab coat. .

46 – JOYIN 29 Pieces Medical Toy Kids Doctor Pretend Play Kit with Carrying Case for Kids, School Classroom Rewards and Doctor Roleplay

I was pleasantly surprised at how good this medical kit was compared to other kids medical kits on amazon1. The toys have higher quality material such as the metal parts on the stethoscope. Other products use all plastic2. The toys actually work! You can hear the heartbeat on the stereoscope and see through a lens in the otoscope3. It comes in a nifty toy box4. The price beats all other similar products on amazonOur son loves this kit and plays for hours with it .
This was a winner for Xmas for 3yr old daughter. She asked for a little Doctor Kit and this fit the bill. I’m glad I took it out of the box before gifting it, because the stickers are separate. I put it all together and added stickers so it was ready to go. I also got her a book about germs (germs make me sick) and it helped her understand the concept of the microscope which she enjoys using.Pros-The stethoscope really works-The microscope has a magnifying glass as does the otoscope-fun to fill the basin with water and pump it out-we love the little medicine bottles-nice qualityCons-Really challenging to get everything to fit back in the box-especially if you have it all set up. We just use a tote bag for everything.-there are a few extra little pieces that did not add much value for us and just wind up being more stuff in the house: little plastic scalpel, Little plastic scissors, small analytical balance spoon. May be cooler for an older kid who understands concept of surgery. For us, less is more-when bottom of kit is filled with water can be a challenge to not spill, also is a little hard for little one to use the pump.-both rubber earpieces came off the stethoscope, luckily not in ears. I put some superglue on it and it’s as good as new, good to check those before using.-Thermometer is not the forehead kind- not a big deal, but the stick one was a foreign concept for our daughter, now she knows how to use it, I have her put it in the armpit because I don’t want her stabbing us in the mouth with it. .
Cute set my son loves it and it lends for hours of imaginative play. The scissors/thongs and flimsy and both of them broke within 10 minutes of opening the box. It’s not precisely the most practical toy every time my little Dr. decides to come and go for “patient visits†everything needs to be disassembled and assembled all over again. My Dr is busy so I have to do that for him about 20 times in an hour. Lol. Bottom line: He loves his set! .
This is cute and my son loves it, however, there are some disappointing aspects.1. Some assembly is required. It’s simple, I just wish I knew before giving it to an impatient 3 year old.2. Pieces break easily. My son snapped the handle off of the scissors with little effort just trying to use them as they should be used.3. The ear buds fall of the stethoscope constantly. I glued them on Bc the metal beneath will definitely damage the ears if the buds go missing permanently.4. Once the shelf is assembled in the case you can’t close the case unless you take the tray out. .

47 – Learning Resources Primary Science Lab Activity Set, Science Exploration, 22 Pieces, Ages 4+

We’re on Summer #2 of using this set. I have to be honest, last summer we only did a handful of experiments. They all worked well, we just didn’t have time. (However, since I put them in a plastic tub instead of the box I have found that he likes to take them in the bathtub.) My son is older now (5 years old) and was begging tonight to do “science time.” We did the celery experiment – I wish it’d help him like veggies but this kit doesn’t do that; the volcano; and one of the extension activities – silly putty. The putty was amazing to watch, but it turned out slightly crumbly. I may have followed the directions wrong, but my little guy didn’t really notice. He just had something to squish around.Don’t forget to pick up the extra 10 activities on Learning Resources’ website! To access the cards, visit the company’s website and view the Primary Science Lab Set. Click on the Exclusive Content tab (you’ll have to scroll down the page) and you’ll be able to download the free activity cards. .
I bought this for my niece for her 3rd birthday. I was aware that some of the experiments might be a little over her head, but she loves making volcanoes and cleaning pennies. She calls it her potion set and will happily play with it using just water and some salt and baking soda making “potions” by herself for a few hours!I read from the reviews that the set didn’t contain the materials for the experiments, so I went to the company’s website to look up the project cards and put together a box of those supplies to give along with the set. I bought white vinegar, salt, baking soda, food coloring, vegetable oil, cotton balls, and a big baggie of dirty pennies, this cost about $8I highly recommend this set, it’s great if you want to guide the experiments and use together and it’s great for hours of imaginary play. .
This lab set created for kids is perfect!! All of the pieces are created of thick plastic and are very well made! This set includes: 3 test-tubes with tops and stands, goggles, beaker with stopper, pitcher, eye dropper, magnifying glass, funnel, tweezers/pinchers, and 10 colorful activity cards. All the pieces are over-sized, and are perfect for smaller hands (I have shown a can in the pictures, to show the approximate size of the pieces. I highly recommend this product. Please mark if you find my review helpful. Thank you so much! .
I got this for my son for Christmas when he was 4 years old. He is now about to turn 6 and it is still used very frequently for doing “science” both at the bathroom sink and outside. There is always something brewing in those wonderful test tubes with lids! As any good toy is for the younger kids, this science set is super tough. Not a single piece of it has failed or worn down yet.Update: The Erlenmyer flask finally threw in the towel this past weekend, a year after my review, three years after gifting the set. The bottom came loose and now it can’t hold liquid, which was a fun surprise event. I am still completely pleased with this set – I can’t blame it for a single piece finally biting the dust – this flask has seen very HEAVY usage. When we “do science,” we do it daily for weeks on end. If I could purchase the Erlenmeyer flask by itself, I would. It will really be missed. .
