1 – Texas Instruments TI-84 Plus CE Color Graphing Calculator, Black
Color: black | Style: 1 pack\n\nTI-84 Plus CE speeds up and simplifies understanding of math and science. Ideal for high school and college. Top Reviews I’ve had this calculator for over 2 years now. It’s served me faithfully all that time, and software and programs work flawlessly. It does what it’s meant to do. No problem there. However, I’m ignoring the elephant in the room, the price. I bought the calculator for over $110 2 years ago, and the price hasn’t really changed since. A Barclays analyst estimated it cost TI between $15-$20 to manufacture a TI-84+, but it’s sold on Amazon for quadruple as much. Amazon itself sells a full-fledged tablet for fifty bucks, which often goes on sale for $40. The TI-84+CE comes with a 0.08 MP screen, a 15 MHz processor, 3 MB of storage, and 154 KB of memory. On the other hand, Amazon’s basic fire tablet has a 0.5 MP screen (6X more), a 1.3 GHz processor (85X more), 8 GB of storage (2500X more), and 1 GB of RAM (6000X more). The Fire Tablet also includes Bluetooth, WiFi, cameras and the like. All for less than half the price. By no means is the Amazon Fire Tablet the best tablet out there; it is just a cheap tablet made by a reputable brand whose specs leave the TI-84+CE miles behind. TI gets away with this highway robbery because its calculators are standardized, and classes are much easier to teach when all the students have the same (or similar) calculator. In that sense, TI has a monopoly on graphing calculators and gets to charge what it wants. So, in the end, my calculator works. However, I slashed two stars because I bought cheap tech that is way overpriced. Not worth the money at all, but I didn’t really have a choice. TI is the accepted brand. Imagine my surprise when I found out that my old TI-83 didn’t have enough power to do everything I needed it to do for my next three math classes, College Algebra (math 114), Calculus for Business and Stats! After a lengthy conversation with my Math Professor, she recommended I pick up a TI-84 and if i was willing to pay a bit more get the color version. Man am I glad I did. This Calculator is so much fun. It’s like walking around with a mini computer in my pocket. I can put in my functions Ysub1 and Ysub2, Hit graph and whamo out comes this pretty graph, like the TI-83 it does handle a lot of numbers, you can set equations to zero and off you go running, however unlike the older version, you are not constrained with having to remember when to use or close parenthesis. I’ve run the same things through both calculators and was amazed when the older version basically had a heart attack when the TI-84 chugged through the answer.rnrnThis one is rechargeable, which means you need to plug it into the wall and top off the battery, it comes partially charged. Color changes are super easy with just a touch of a few buttons. Outside of that it does have a larger memory so upgrades are a breeze. I an unable to speak at this time as to the battery life as I just bought it this week and haven’t had to charge it but the one time.rnrnWhats in the package:rn1. I’m a business major so my math will end at Stats and Calculus for business. I really do like this new unit! I’m disappointed with how this arrived. I’ve been really looking forward to using this calculator, but I’m gonna be returning it. It came with multiple scratches (they’re not that noticeable at first but you could definitely see it there) all over the calculator like described in other reviews.rnI also have to pay for the return shipping fee on my own. I had a TI-84 in college. It was great. I ordered this calculator for my daughter for school and it arrived a day later than promised. When it was turned on the screen was white and blank. Thinking it needed to charge, I charged it for 24 hours. It is still white and blank. When it is plugged into the computer, it says that the OS is missing. I will be returning it. . Read more

arranty Information; Four AAA batteries not included, alkaline recommended Top Reviews This calculator deserves zero stars, but that’s not an option. Within an hour of using this calculator, the screen had 4 horizontal lines running across the entire screen, and within two weeks had about 20 of them. Did I mention that the calculator has only moved from a table to my hands and back, and has never been transported more than 3 feet? That’s durability! Oh wait, that’s sarcasm. I’d say within another week of use this calculator will be completely unusable. Tech support from Texas Instruments is worthless as well, as a replacement will take weeks. That’s not really helpful when you’re in the middle of a calculus class.rnrnWorst purchase I’ve made on Amazon so far. This is complete garbage. . I have had this for over four years now. Replaced batteries twice. I used this during community college and still use it at work. Although there is an app that simulates this completely (Wabbitemu), there is no replacing the real thing. Plus you can take this into exams (unless graphing calculators are not allowed.rnrnI think its memory functions are what make it so useful. I may have a few equations that I use all the time during a semester. I just plug them in y= and keep it there all semester long. I can write my own programs (eg Celcius to Farenheit). I can save a few constants (viscosity of water, earth’s radius, etc.). Those come in handy on exams. But some professors come around and wipe your calculator before exams, so don’t count on it. Its memory is also useful for making very precise calculations. Instead of typing in the previous answer (or an answer five lines up), just copy it down. I have watched a few videos to learn all (or most of) the tricks, so helpful. This is a lifelong tool for engineers.rnrnNote: It’s not Mathematica or Matlab. If you want 3D graphing, that’s the place to go. Also it can’t simplify square roots. So Sqrt(18) is not displayed as 3*Sqrt(2). . This is the standard for graphing calculators for high school and early college-level mathematics; the calculator is a pleasure to use.rnThis device is approved for SAT/ACT/AP exams.rnI have been using this device for two months for Calculus 1, and it is accurate all the time.rnThe box includes the calculator, slide case, mini-USB cable, I/O cable, getting started guide, CD-ROM, and four AAA batteries.rnThe device is powered by 4 AAA batteries and a lithium battery backup to protect RAM. It has a 15 MHz processor, 480 KB of ROM for data and app storage, an I/O port, and a mini-USB port, which can be used to load apps found on the Texas Instruments official website.rnAdditionally, the calculator comes preloaded with 12 apps. Cabri Jrâ„¢ (interactive geometry), Conic Graphing, Inequality Graphing, and Probability Simulation are four of the most useful preloaded apps for most students.rnrnThe five keys at the top of the calculator (y=, window, zoom, trace, and graph) and their second function keys (stat plot, tblset, format, calc, and table) are conveniently placed for students to graph and view a table of x and y values for the function.rnThe calculator has shortcut keys for common functions such as x^-1, x^2, sqrt(x), 10^x, and e^x. It also has the mathematical constants pi and e on the right hand side of the calculator.rnrnSUMMARY:rnPROS: Good all-around graphing calculator for high school and early college-level math; apps can expand this hardware’s feature set; calculator is approved for SAT/ACT/AP exams; long battery life; great user interfacernCONS: This calculator is a bit expensive, considering the cost to produce this hardware; it doesn’t have a computer algebra system, so it lacks features such as taking limits, finding partial and total derivatives, finding some indefinite and definite integrals, matrix operations, and advanced statistical computation. If you need a computer algebra system, you should go with the TI-Nspire CX CAS  or the TI-89 Titanium Graphing Calculator ; both are permitted on the SAT and the AP. If cost is a concern, get the Casio fx-9750GII Graphing Calculator , which has similar functionality to the TI-84. . I purchased the TI-84 for my daughter to use in her 10th grade Geometry class. The course required the TI-84. I asked her how she likes it and she says, “it works well, it’s fast, not heavy and doesn’t slip on her desk.” This is the 3rd TI calculator I’ve purchased and overall I’ve been satisfied with their products. We use rechargeable batteries so I’m not concerned that it takes AAA batteries versus a rechargeable battery that comes with the TI-84 Plus CE. Read more
3 – Texas Instruments TI-Nspire CX II CAS Color Graphing Calculator with Student Software (PC/Mac)
Advanced portable graphics with Computer Algebra System (CAS) functions, full color screen, TI battery and licensed TI-Inspire CX CAS software for students. Top Reviews This calculator is amazing. I have been using a ti 84 for Introductory College Algebra, and the Ti Nspire Cx 2 CAS is light years ahead of the Ti 84. The calculator is easy to use and can factor almost any Polynomial I can throw at it. The Ti Nspire cx 2 CAS is a winner in my book, and I highly recommend this calculator. . I’m an adult engineering professional, not a student.rnrnReally like the CAS system that solves, simplifies, factors, expands, etc. algebraic expressions. No need to convert systems of equations to matrices. No worrying about silly mistakes in algebra. I really like that expressions can be variables, makes substitution super easy.rnrnI’m coming from a TI-82 (it still works!) so I felt fairly comfortable, but still had to watch a few YouTube videos to get the gist of documents and an overview of the features. Read the manuals, watch videos, google, etc and the fun and power slowly reveals itself.rnrnI installed the software, calculator comes with a license but you have to download from TI’s site. Used the software to upgrade the firmware to latest version no problem, transfer files to and from calculator, and the software emulates the calculator so you can use your computer for editing, screen sharing, etc. All very cool.rnrnBuild seems solid, though not as rugged feeling as my old TI-82 which is built like a tank and survived many drops and abuse. Bought a padded case for this one, which I don’t think is needed for the older models. . Can’t ever go wrong with a TI-Nspire. I’ve used the normal TI-Nspire CX at school during all my 4 years in high school, so I’ve become fairly comfortable with operating it. But, I felt it was time for an upgrade, so I chose this, and I’ve got to say, best investment ever. As an engineering college student, this calculator really helps save time. With its CAS, solving integrals and taking complicated derivatives couldn’t have been any easier. The buttons (arguably), in my opinion, feel very nice to click and make a satisfying clicking sound, which I like (compared to the normal CX). It has functions from solving systems, to analyzing statistical data, and you can even program your own functions using TI-Basic. All in all, this is definitely a must-buy for any college student taking high level engineering classes. One thing to note is that this (and many other CAS calculators), are not allowed on AP math exams. Also, as I’m sure you’ve heard. graphing calculators are not allowed in lower college math classes either (ex: Cal 1, Cal 2, or even Cal 3). It is, however, allowed on the SAT and uppe
r-level engineering/science courses in college, at least in my experience. . Using to learn calculus, algebra and discrete math. Read more
4 – Texas Instruments TI-Nspire CX II Color Graphing Calculator with Student Software (PC/Mac)
Color: white | Style: 1 pack\n\nAdvanced handheld graphing calculator with full color display, TI battery and licensed TI-Inspire CX Student software. Top Reviews I’m disappointed that despite the vast, and often useless capabilities the Nspire has, it can’t do something as simple as give an answer in irrational form nor can it give an answer in radical form. For example, If you type in cos(Ï€/4), the answer it gives you 0.707 instead of (sqrt 2)/2. This is just a simple example but imagine trying to figure out something more complicated. Defeats the purpose of a calculator. The Nspire CAS can give results as irrational and radical so I’m not sure why the non cas version cant. It’s just odd that their most advanced (and expensive) calculator can’t provide answers in their irrational or radical form especially since basic scientific calculators can.rnPros: The Nspire is like a mini computer (with a touchpad mouse and everything), it can store notes and perform many other tasks efficiently.rnI think this is an amazing device for anyone not doing trig equations. It really can do a lot, much more than most people need tbh. But beware that most colleges don’t allow students to use the Nspire, or any graphing calculator for that matter, on exams because of the fact that it does give you the answers and it’s note storing capability. You’d only be able to use it in high school or at home for personal use, that’s what I had planned on doing. So if you’re willing to dish out the money when it’s unusable past high school, has a VERY steep learning curve and isn’t efficient for trigonometry, go for it! . The good thing is that it is reliable and seems to work well. Buttons are responsive and are consistent from one to the another. The charge lasts an entire day, however it would be nice to have a battery backup in case the charge wears off during an important exam. The downsides are that the charging cable does not connect direct to a wall outlet, but only to a computer or USB hub. It’s also difficult to learn how to use. The up side is that it is allowed for use during the SAT or ACT test and it is clearly a quality product that should last many years. It is required for use in many high school Geometry classes. . The TI-Nspire CX II is not the most powerful calculator I own, nor does it have the most gentle learning curve. However, it is easy to learn to use, and the scratchpad makes performing quick or onetime calculations a breeze. What the handheld and student software offer together is a complete math learning platform that revolves around the document concept, and that also integrates well with classroom/teacher tools. The math instructor can tailor an entire math program around the calculator handheld and student software and, if desired, have students perform all homework, quizzes, exams, and lecture work on those tools. The combination modernizes math instruction and potentially eliminates handouts and traditional homework assignments. The flexibility of the TI-Nspire tools goes well beyond the single-purpose scientific graphing calculator, and becomes a complete and integrated instruction and learning platform. Beyond the world of learning, the TI-Nspire series, especially the CAS model, are more than suitable as math tools for professionals, including use in branches of science and engineering. Programming languages available as part of the Nspire, and ample RAM, mean the calculator can become a powerful computing platform. With the addition of Vernier DataQuest and numerous sensors available for that system, the handheld can become a fully functional data capture and analysis tool, making lab work in science and engineering more engaging. If this sounds like a paid advert for TI, I apologize. I am actually an HP calculator fan. But this calculator/system looked so interesting I had to give it a try. I have been rewarded with satisfaction I did not expect I found the completely integrated math tool I was hoping HP would one day develop; they were partially successful. But TI, with their recognition in the education system in the US, beat HP to a complete and polished solution, and the Nspire is as it was intended to be, Nspiring. . I’ve had this calculator for weeks now waiting to start some online classes. I researched and read that this calculator is top of the line. The display is very nice. It’s vivid in color and is large enough to read. But I’m not sure it’s worth this much money. It’s not even touch screen and the calculator honestly feels very light and cheap. Feels as if you were to drop it accidentally it might shatter very easily.rnrnThen there is the issue of how difficult it actually is to do anything on the calculator. If aren’t trained to use this type of calculator there will be a very steep learning curve. It is very complicated for a beginner and not even close to being straight forward in use or the directions. I find myself using an online app called desmos most of the time since it is so much easier to use than this thing.rnrnUnless you have classes that require this specific calculator or you are very familiar with it I would pass. Even if I were more familiar I still don’t think the quality is worth this price point because it feels so cheap in hand. Read more
5 – Texas Instruments TI-84 Plus CE Blueberry Graphing Calculator
We present the TI-84 Plus in a stylish new design with a crisp color display. Imagine the concepts are clear and allow you to connect equations, data, and full-color graphs faster and more tightly. Top Reviews As a highschool student, this calculator is really helpful. It’s thin and lightweight, which is perfect for me as my school does not have lockers. The colored graphics are really helpful too. It made it easier to read graphs with multiple lines. The buttons were placed like the older versions, so I got used to this calculator quite easily. The battery is amazing too, I charged it fully the night I got it and did not recharge for three whole months. It didn’t even die before I finally charged it. (Don’t worry, it does come with a charger! And a manual booklet too!)rnOh, because the screen lights up, just be ready to have teachers coming up to you thinking that the calculator is a smartphone! That happened to multiple times once a teacher screamed across the classroom, “(insert my name) put that phone away or else you’ll have to get it back from the office!” To which I replied, “it’s a calculator” while waving the bright screen in the air from my dark back corner. . I’ve been a fan of TI calculators since the early 70s, when I bought my first scientific calculator. My daily driver is a TI-Nspire CX ii CAS. I’ve had an HP Prime and a Casio fx-cg500, all CAS calculators, but the best is the TI. As for the TI-84 Plus CE – I really like the looks and the colors; I just had to have one. Sadly, the functionality does not live up to its looks, and certainly no
t its price! The scientific functions are about the same as would be found in a Casio FX-115 ES Plus for less than $20. To be fair, the 84 has some great statistics functions. But let’s get to the graphing.rnrnThe TI-84 Plus CE has a very nice, large color display, but in graph mode, the graphing area is significantly reduced, as are the graph analysis tools – most of which are missing altogether. Come on TI, this is near your top of the line non CAS grapher and it is no better capability than a $39 Casio grapher.rnrnSpeaking of things missing, where is the backspace key? The line editor is in character overwrite mode by default. Editing a previously used equation/expression is a pain.rnrnThis is turning into a rant, so I’ll quit. It is clear that TI designed this calculator specifically for high school students and to fleece said students/parents out of some serious bucks! At best, this is a $50 calculator and performs like one.rnrnI’ll end on a positive note – connecting the 84 to a PC using TI’s free TI Connect is easy. The 84 is programmable using TI Basic and assembly language. I’ve not tried the latter. The TI Connect software contains a programming editor, although programming on the calculator itself is not difficult for short programs. If you really like programming your calculator, this is a good choice. There are tons of programs, so peer to peer support is good. The bottom line is that if you are going to pay this kind of money for a grapher, then buy the TI-Nspire CX II CAS. It’s 3 times the calculator and the best out there. . I’ve got the 82s, 83s, 85s and 89s all sitting in a basket waiting for the grandkids to need them. But the internal batteries died! Who would have thought that storing them for 20 years would do that? My daughter’s 89 is still working great but that’s because she uses hers daily. In any event, the grand wanted a blue graphing calculator that has games on it. Hmph they didn’t have that when I was a student! He’s enjoying this calculator immensely. As with all the other TI calculators, this is a quality product. . This is an amazing calculator, the screen looks great, and the added memory / speed is really nice. However, TI has blocked the TI-84 Plus CE from being able to install third party apps. So if you need to use the calculator with any app that you wrote yourself, or get through a third party manufacture, do not buy this calculator. It’s very disappointing that TI has taken this route, they already dominate the market for graphing calculators, and now they are restricting app purchasing to their store. Read more

If the product you receive does not work you are dead to them. I ordered this for my son who needed a graphing calculator. He used it on and off, and we noticed it had power issues, but thought it was related to batteries. Bought new batteries (rechargable and not), even bought a battery tester to make sure the batteries we were putting in were good. We contacted the seller after it turned off and wouldn’t turn back on during an SAT practice test, requesting a replacement. On 2/1 he wrote back and said “you need to stick a screwdriver in, a small one and move the two terminals on the inside a little. The 2 holes below the batteries. Look inside with a light and can see, the touch gold terminals, move them over a little to one side and try that first.” We tried this, which did not work, as it turned off again as my son was working with his math tutor (who has the same calculator btw, the difference being his works). I wrote Franklin Electronics again asking for a replacement and have heard nothing. . TI has a monopoly on calculators needed for standardized tests. Top Reviews There were pentagram symbols carved all over it. My house has had a demon infestation ever since. . If I had to choose between the TI-83 and TI-84, I would buy the TI-84 and save the money purchasing this calculator cost me. This is an older model calculator, good, but has some limitations. Functions require extra steps, such as remember to use ( ) in places that you wouldn’t have to think about them with the TI-84. The space on this calculator is too small to accommodate updates. That being said, it is less expensive, and works just fine for remedial math up through College Math 80 (Intermediate Algebra).rnrnSadly this calculator doesn’t have the space to add the needed upgrades, in order for it to function as it needs to for more advanced classes. As my Math 114 Professor said Most classes are being taught using the TI-84, so just buy that one! She was right and I did, now my 11 year old math wiz of a niece is getting this old calculator to start learning on.rnrnSo if you will be taking more than a college math 80 class and don’t want to drive yourself nuts by remembering to add things and do odd ball things to functions, save yourself the added expense and buy the TI-84. . Don’t buy from them. First off, the batteries promised to be supplied with didn’t work, so there’s your first sign. I bought new batteries the next day to make sure the calculator worked, which it did for a short time. Within a few weeks, the screen faded, odd lines began running across the screen, and eventually it became such a mess, I could only read figures that appeared in the middle portion of the screen. Changing the batteries did nothing. As a graphing calculator, it is completely unusable — as a calculator, it is still unusable. Buy a used one from a trusted friend, not here. . I bought a refurbished TI-83 from a third-party seller, and it works great for my college classes. I did not want to buy a new one since Texas Instruments charges too much for an old technology calculator. They have a large monopoly for students who go to grade schools and colleges. Since many schools require their students to buy them, they are making a killing in profits while the calculator costs only $20 or so to make. Most cell phones can do the same thing at faster speeds, but most schools don’t let students use them on exams to prevent cheating. I wonder why the Federal Trade Commission doesn’t stop TI’s monopoly on their calculators? I do like my unit, but I wish they weren’t so expensive since this technology has been used since 80s. 8 – TI-84 Plus CE Color Graphing Calculator, White
White color\n\nTI-84 Plus CE speeds up and simplifies understanding of math and science. Ideal for high school and college. Top Reviews My husband has gone back to school as a adult and needed this item. My best compliment is that after a decade or so of being out of school, he was able to pick up calculator up and use it fairly easily. . Love the calculator. I have been in some pretty advanced math and have used several versions of the TI-84 throughout the years. Amazing piece
of tech. The company I ordered from as well was extremely efficient and got my package shipped expediently! Overall very happy and I highly recommend this calculator for anyone doing any form of graphing, algebra, chem, or stat math. . We gave this to our high school granddaughter who was thrilled when her SAT math scores rose by 40 points after she received it. . Absolutely love this graphing calculator. The new ones are way more advanced than they used to be, and it has a much better screen than the original TI-84. The product has improved massively over what it used to be, and the price has dropped compared to how expensive calculators used to be. I highly recommend this TI-84 Plus CE graphing calculator. 9 – Silicone Case for Ti 84 Plus CE Calculator (Green) – Cover for Texas Instruments Ti-84 Graphing Calculator – Silicon Skin for Ti84 Plus – Protective & Anti-Scretch Cases – Ti 84 Accessories by Sully
Green color\n\nBest Protection for TI-84 Plus CE Calculator This TI-84 Plus calculator case is designed to fully protect your Texas calculator, and the fingerprint ranges are designed for maximum comfort. Top Reviews So, this is a good idea, but you need to consider this before purchasing it. If you have the silicone cover on the calculator, you cannot use the case that comes with the calculator. The silicone cover does protect the calculator, but I feel the case protects it better. With this, though, you get protection and don’t have to open the case every time. You can charge it with this cover on and it doesn’t make it too bulky. I would actually not recommend this product, but if you really want it and think it is cool, it is okay. It does what it says it does and it will give your calculator some protection. It will also keep the buttons a little cleaner. . The silicone case fits perfectly onto my ti84CE! The label on the case is well made and haven’t scraped off (yet). The silicone is also not slippery, and I haven’t accidentally dropped my calculator. My only complaint is that the backside of the calculator isn’t fully protected.rnrnThis case also has a loop at the top right where you can insert a ring. Also, the original case cover doesn’t fit back on. . The calculator fits in this silicone case snug as a bug in a rug.rnrnI bought the Texas Instrument TI 84 CE Plus calculator for my middle school son. I was concerned about the cosmetic as well as physical damage to the white body of the calculator based on experience with a previous calculator that went to calculator heaven due to this middle schooler’s clumsy hands. So I went looking for a case to protect my investment.rnrnI was not disappointed. The case fits well, comes with 2 screen protectors, a carabiner clip. The lettering on the case is sharp and clear. The only advise I would give is to be very careful when applying the screen protector. I got bubbles which I am hoping will go away with time. Not a big deal as it cannot be seen when the calculator is on. I can always use the spare screen protector and do a better job next time. . This case will definitely same me from my clumsiness. When I’m in a rush to get from class to class (not happening now due to Covid) I have to pick up my things and run and along the way dropping and picking up stuff. I loved that this case not only is sturdy and will protect my device from getting damaged but it also comes with 2 screen protector and a small clip hook! That’s super awesome!! These calculators are very expensive and it would be super crappy if you don’t have this case and it falls and well we know what happens to devices when they fall, yes tech heaven. Lol. The $ spent for what you get is totally worth it! Being a college student I can say this product is a must have for college! Read more

Instead of tying up more precious screen real estate with a calculator program, and juggling that window among too many others that need to be open, I just wanted a simple calculator that could do the task. I was somewhat surprised to find that converting between base systems wasn’t more common on inexpensive calculators, like it is in symbolic or graphing calculators. But I already have an old TI-8x series calculator, and it’s just too big and goes through batteries too quickly for my simple needs anymore. This calculator fit the bill, and I’m very happy with it.rnrnIt’s simple enough to use that I remember all but the fancier functions quite easily. The manual could have used a little more descriptive text, but I was still able to figure everything out without too much trouble. I probably won’t ever use some of the more advanced stuff, but there were a few things that I was pleasantly surprised by, like the ability to convert from decimal degrees to degrees, minutes, & seconds, or Cartesian to polar coordinates, or work with complex numbers.rnrnThe one complaint is that the front panel is a shiny plastic that is a
n absolute fingerprint smudge magnet. It looks cool when you first get it, but as soon as you press any buttons, it will always look a bit dirty. Somebody in product design made a poor choice there, but in the end, it doesn’t get in the way of what is otherwise a great little calculator. . This is a good scientific calculator. You can find others with more functions for a few more dollars, but this calculator is a good match for what I was looking for without all the extras. The key layout is good, the buttons are where I expect them to be (such as the +/- change sign key). The single-line display has good contrast, numbers and modes clearly readable. Keys have a light springy touch. Overall, a well-designed and handy calculator.rnrnSome reviews mentioned theirs arrived with corroded batteries. The two LR1130 batteries pre-installed in mine look new and the battery compartment is clean. Be aware that the product listing says this calculator uses two LR44 batteries, but it actually uses two LR1130 batteries (consistent with what is also stated in the manual). . Ordered different calculators to try out for my algebra and geometry review.rnThis is the one I like and this is the one I use. Wish it weren’t shinyrnbut I’m getting used to it and it hasn’t been a problem. I used to havernthe older version of this 30 years ago and it got me through chemistry, rnphysics, algebra, and geometry, and trigonometry, very nicely.rnThis one is the same layout, but improved larger keys. Very clearrnread out. It doesn’t have solar but the batteries last for years, rneasy to find, and easy to replace. . 11 – Casio fx-9750GIII Black Graphing Calculator
The Fx-9750GIII is ready-to-go with the following features: USB connectivity, 3MB flash memory, and hotspot functionality combined to provide a powerful tool designed to support student success. Recommended courses: Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus, Calculus, AP Statistics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Finance and Business. Top Reviews i recieved this calculator 2 days ago but have already used it for around 6 hours all i can say is amazing would definetly reccomend but one thing that might be anoying to some is that there is no | button so you have to manually go through different menus to be able to use absolute value. . The third generation FX-9750G is a significant improvement over the second generation–namely the addition of mathprint. It is essentially an FX-9860Gii in a smaller form factor without a backlight. And unlike the 9860, it has the ability to copy previous answers into the command line just like the TI-84. Speaking of TI-84, this calculator meets or exceeds the TI in almost every way, and it costs half the price. The build quality is good, and the keys respond well to light or off-center presses (unlike the fancier FX-CG50). This calculator will perform well in high school, university, and beyond. Casio really knocked it out of the park on this one. As a practicing electrical engineer, I highly recommend this calculator. . . Read more
12 – Texas Instruments TI-84 Plus CE Lightning Graphing Calculator
We present the TI-84 Plus in a stylish new design with a crisp color display. Imagine the concepts are clear and allow you to connect equations, data, and full-color graphs faster and more tightly. Top Reviews If you reading this review, you probably also feel the pain of having to pay such a ridiculous price for a calculator. In my case, this calculator cost almost as much as the Math 1314 class I had to buy it for. However, that being said, I really do like this calculator. The screen resolution is nice, and there are TONS of videos online with tutorials. Since this is currently the latest model, it will holds its value pretty well. In my opinion, its worth the extra money to have this version over the non CE version. . The TI 84’s are all pretty standard, but a couple of things make this one better than the others.rnrnI recommend the rechargeable, it is much lighter than the one you put in all the AA’s. Feels better using.rnI recommend the color display, Son’s Black and white vs my Daughter’s Color. Graphis far better, of course no different in output, but feels better to see.rnColor – We picked blue. Stands out well, Daughter loves that it’s different than all the other black cases in the classroom.rnrnCon – only Con is that it’s not the standard power cord you find on most android phones. It’s similar, but it’s the one that’s a bit fatter they used to use on older phones. So if you use one, you can’t just use your phone cord. Wish they would give option of apple/Samsung power ports. . I am a Mechanical Engineering major and this calculator has helped me (when I was aloud to use a calculator lol). It’s pretty simple to use, it can graph multiple graphs at once and its screen is colorful and bright. The battery is rechargeable with a little cord that you plug into the wall. The battery lasted me about 3 months before I needed to recharge it (please note I did not use the calculator daily as we were not aloud to use calculators often). Either way, it does what it says it does. . We purchased this calculator for my daughter (10th grade). After a month and a half the screen just stopped working. There is no visible damage on the calculator, she didn’t drop it or anything like that. She was just carrying it in the case to school. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect the calculator that cost $150+ to be working. We sent it back to Texas Instruments to fix or replace. They claim that the warranty only covers 30 days and want me to pay $75 + shipping to replace it. I WILL NOT invest another dollar into this crappy product which might stop working tomorrow. That’s its problem. Since it can do everything, you have to do more button pushing to instruct it to do what you want it to do. On too many occasions finding the correct sequence of buttons to push isn’t evident. Technically, this “flaw” is referred to as “cryptic” input. You can read all about it on Wikipedia. So, if your future has you taking only an introductory level physics course, I suggest going with something like the TI-84. I got the TI-89 because I’m a professional and felt I was honor bound to master it. I also have a TI-86 and feel it was a mistake of TI to discontinue it. There is one circumstance of a difficult transcendental equation that I had solved analytically by hand. I wanted to see how the TI-89 did with it, since it supposedly has all the algebra in the world built in. It only succeeded in transforming the appearance of the equation, but didn’t solve it. By the way, my analytic solution has passed countless numerical tests. . I am currently an Engineering student and bought his to replace my TI-84. After getting used to the button and interface, I wouldn’t go back to the TI-84 if you paid. I absolutely love this thing. The fact I can quickly and easily scroll up and pull down past calculations and use the result in future calculations is terrific and time-saving. Writing applications on my computer and transferring them is simple and easy–I’ve found that I do this a lot, now. Saves time when computing redundant calculations on exams.rnrnThe only negative I can think to mention is that TI could have done a better job alerting the user about the battery getting low. I use the calculator a lot–at least a few hours each day–and when it dies it simply shuts off. In each instance I have been given zero warning, the screen just suddenly went blank. If you rely on this calculator keep a spare set of batteries in your bag at all times. . An effect and powerful tool for career! If you engage in the field about engineering, mathematic, statistics or business, Texas Instrument Ti-89 is a pretty powerful tool can help you. It combined almost all the functions if you need process calculation. You can use it to do simply calculation and work through calculus. It provides powerful assistance if you learn.rnrnFunctions: It provides multiple functions such as calculus, finance and statistics, etc. You can access different functions in easy way. You can obtain various forms of answer as you need. For example, in mathematic field, you can select to get answer form as numerical, matrix and liner algebra when you enter simple numerical equation. For finance field, you can use its program to get rate of interest, NPV easily. You can use it in simple way whatever you study in finance, engineering or statistics. It has covered all the functions you desire as a calculator.rnrnQuality: It seems a little expensive than other calculators and some people choose another due to price consideration. But if you own it, you will know the benefit you get more than money. It does not have any malfunction since I owned it about four years ago. It was fell to floor several times and nothing happen. The clear screen with comprehensive steps also offer you opportunity to see how you go through your questions previously.rnrnConvenience: I intended to studied engineering before and I took calculus class. Ti-89 provided me the way to test my answers with matrix, graph and integral. I changed my mind to study finance finally and it required financial calculator. I took statistics class at the same time and Ti-89 was useful in that class. I discovered Ti-89 also has finance function so I do not need buy new calculator and bring those together every day. Every time you want to do calculation, Ti-89 can satisfy all you need and you do not need seek another.rnrnTi-89 is a product that gather wisdom of Ti-89 to satisfy the daily use. You can obtain impeccable function, good quality and convenience with one-time payment. It will define help you with study and career and you cannot miss that. . relative to the ti89t. The only big plus for the in
spire is its colour screen. When I picked up my inspire, I found it simply too complex to use and so you cannot learn or remember an operating procedure.rnRemember, maths theory doesn’t age but calculators do, the ti89t is based the mc68k processor, which is one of the best cpu’s ever produced, given it’s date of intro., 1979 it is a little slow but if you are a tolerant person then speed is not such a big deal. The inspire build is no where near, as robust as, the ti89t is. 14 – Texas Instruments TI-84 PLUS CE Graphing Calculator, Black (Frustration-Free Packaging) (84PLCE/PWB/2L1/A)
Featuring the TI-84 Plus Silver Edition features and a backlit full-color HD display, the TI-84 Plus embodies the CE concept and is flexible in math and science. Built-in math printing allows students to insert and display math symbols, formulas, and folded fractions as they appear in textbooks. Includes TI rechargeable battery. Ideal for high school and college. Top Reviews I’m sure this is a good calculator, I haven’t gotten too far into the functions (though there is a steep learning curve). There are a few other issues that make the product difficult to use.rnrn1) Who thought that using light blue and green together on a black surface would be helpful? It’s impossible for me to tell the difference between the two colors that represent 2nd and alpha modes. I had to use a flashlight to be able to see the colors clearly, something that you may not have access to in a classroom. Another color that contrasts better would have been good. I was able to go off of the location, blue in the upper left of a key, green in the upper right, to tell which key/mode I was looking for. Except, the off button/mode is swapped. Just really poorly thought out.rnrn2) No backspace button is a crime. Sure, you can use the arrow keys to go back, then use the delete key to clear the character under the cursor. But a calculator that was a fraction of the price of this, actually has a backspace button.rnrnOverall, I’m not really that impressed with this calculator. I got it for the extra memory, as it will handle larger tables than my cheaper one. But if you don’t need to process large tables (40+ entries), stick with a less expensive model. This one is actually disappointing, especially considering the price. If you can’t get the UI correct, what are you even doing? . The TI-84 plus ce is an amazing calculator but there are many downsides. In schools across America many kids are required to get ti calculators, any alternatives would be hard to use due to lack of instructions in class. Although this simplifies many things it also makes way for a monopoly on school calculator use.rnrnDesign: This calculator is very thin and sleek, making it one of the best-looking calculators in the market and the most portable.rnrnMaterials: These calculators materials are god awful, For close to $150 your getting a cheap, scratchable hunk of plastic. With its terrible fingerprint attracting screen and its scratched front panel (mine came scratched) I feel this calculator should be made of much better materials considering its price. In the first month, 2 of the plastic bumpers on the back fell off because the cheap glue used does not stick. Overall I would say the build quality of the ti 84 is completely unacceptable. . I really needed this calculator because I had test coming up and the calculator I had broke. When I got it the product, it had scratches on it, and fingerprints on the screen, like someone had used it. Then I tried to turn it on nothing happened. It was a just a blank white LCD screen. I tried charging it, even for 5 hours. Nothing, numbers weren’t showning up just nothing. I really needed one, so I got it more expensive from Staples, the first thing I realized about the staples packaging for that calculator was that it was really glued in and tight, like new. But this one was really easy to open. I would definitely not recommend this to anyone. . Stopped working half way through the school year. I also bought a new battery for it but it this did not work. Extremely frustrating! Read more

We present the TI-84 Plus in a stylish new design with a crisp color display. Imagine the concepts are clear and allow you to connect equations, data, and full-color graphs faster and more tightly. Top Reviews I teach statistics, and use the TI calculators all the time. Mostly I use a TI-84. Unfortunately, it doesn’t always show up on the overhead projector very well. For that reason, and to have a spare for students who forget theirs, I decided to buy the new back lit version. The difference on the overhead is amazing! This shows up great. Not only that, the graphs look much nicer than on the old one, and it has a few additional features that the old one doesn’t. Considering that this was marked down due to package damage, I got a good price on it as well. I really didn’t see that much damage to the package, but I sure did love the price!rnrnOnly one caveat – the calculator doesn’t seem as robust as the older models. It is nice and light though, so I suppose that’s a trade-off. I didn’t think the blue was quite as pretty in real life as it is in the picture, but I didn’t buy it for looks, so that’s fine with me. . Purchased this back in December to use in a college course that started in January. Kept getting and Error message for every request to graph a function. Figured I was doing it wrong until this week when in total frustration I took it to the professor who said she used one of these. She confidently plugged in my function and got the same Error message each time she tried with any function. She sympathized with me, but said it just isn’t working properly, need to get a new one. Not really in the budget after buying this one! Disappointed to say the least! . Disappointed. It was not the right model. I paid more for that color and what I received did not match the description. Denim model, which a student had, is on left. I received one on right. . Both teens say the battery last and it is extremely easy to use. Teens highly recommend .We bought two for high school to go with them through college and beyond. Like the different colors on graphs. After doing a lot of research, I settled on this one having the most bang for my buck and I was right. My entire class, including the professor, used TI 84’s or above. There are numerous functions that are much simpler on the Casio vs the TI. After comparing it to fellow students’ TI’s, I feel that the fx-9860ii is far superior (as did a lot of the TI 84 users). I didn’t have any trouble learning how to use this one on my own. TIP: YOUTUBE has great videos for casio calculators. . I wanted a calculator with a backlit display. It seems that to get a backlit display one has to buy a graphing calculator. The Casio fx-9860GII was the least expensive. It apparently is intended for academic use, and has some features which are irritating for general scientific use. In its normal Math mode, for example, entering 4xpi gives the answer 4pi rather than the number, and 4.1xpi gives (41/10)pi. Switching to Linear mode provides calculations as expected, 4xpi = 12.56 with 10 significant figures. In Linear mode, however, the screen navigation features are absent. The precision of calculations is excellent. The Hewlett-Packard pi test, 355/113-pi, gives a result with 8 significant figures; most scientific calculators give 5. There is no built-in table of constants in the calculator as supplied, although there is a table of unit conversions. However, a table of constants and a periodic table of elements are available for downloading, using a USB cable which is supplied with the calculator. Handling of constants is somewhat clumsy. A selected constant cannot be inserted in a calculation directly, but must be loaded into one of the A to Z memories. I find it convenient to keep constants which I use frequently in the memories, rather than reloading from the table for each use. The calculator is supplied with AAA alkaline cells, but I find that AAA rechargeable NiMH cells work properly. A more expensive version of the calculator has an internal rechargeable battery . Love this calculator!!! It is just as good as a Texas Instruments, arguably better, and for only half the price. The functions are a little tricky to learn at first, but nothing the instruction manual, a YouTube video, or 15 minutes of playing around with the calculator can not fix. This calculator is an easy purchase. A really great product that does the exact some functions the competitors products do and for only half the price. I am an engineering major and have only used this calculator for Trigonometry and Pre-Cal, but my friends in the upper division courses say that it would work just fine for the harder courses like Calculus and Engineering Physics. . So much better than my old TI-84 plus, and a lot cheaper as well. The casio can do everything that the TI can do and then some. On the TI you need to download special programs to do conics and to solve equations, but on the casio the functions are built in and easy to access. I actually find the interface a lot clearer than on the TI and don’t get lost tryng to find certain functions. My only complaint is the lack of downloadable programs for it, but that’s really not the calculator’s fault. With the TI, you can fid countless programs, like riemann sum solvers, because TIs are more widely used, whereas it seems that almost nobody uses casios. However, other than that, the casio is by far my preferred calculator for my calc class. Read more
17 – Texas Instruments TI-84 Plus CE Color Graphing Calculator, Bright White
Familiar TI-84 features in a stylish new design with crisp color display. TI-84 Plus accelerates understanding of CE math and science topics. The built-in math publishing feature allows students to insert and display math symbols, formulas, and compound fractions as they appear in textbooks. Includes TI rechargeable battery. Ideal for high school and college. Top Reviews The product works fine, my only complaint was with the seller. My calculator was labeled as “new” and even looked legitimate in original packaging (although not the newest one that comes with TI 84 for Dummies), but when it arrived it had a red stain on the calculator cover (like from hot Cheetos) and multiple scratches on the front surface of the calculator by the numbers. I swear it came out of the package looking like this and its very disappointing that I paid full price for a new item when I received an obviously refurbished item. When I turned it on it even said “RAM Cleared.” Deceitful practices can be expected from “Hollister Y”. . Recently purchased my third TI-84 got my kids entering high school. After 7 years of use I can report durability, ease of use, and applicability from algebra 1 through calculous. This most recent purchase was for the plus with color and my algebra 2 student reports he likes the color graphing quite a bit. The first TI-84 is in its second year of college and going strong. It’s probably a good idea to purchase one of the protective cases available on Amazon to protect this investment from the trials of the back pack. . Texas Instruments has a disgusting monopoly-esque hold on the education industry – an industry which all of us participate in for many years. This is a perfect example of systemic market failure. Many teachers throughout middle school, high school, and even college and university, mandate the use of these archaic machines. If this
wasn’t the case, you’d do THE ONLY REASONABLE THING and save this money to invest toward a smart phone with millions more processing power. The phone you’re using is a ridiculously more powerful machine than any of these obsolete class mandated calculators . This is the one many instructors and professors want their students using as they use this one themselves. It is a bit of a learning curve to understand how to access all the functions but that is what the world of graphing calculators is like. But the Texas Instruments Education channel has a web series on YouTube that helps you grow comfortable with the device; a must of those new to this level of calculators.rnrnI got mine in white because it would be so much different than many classmates as theirs are typically colored black as that is what most office supply stores and on campus supply stores have on hand for sale. 18 – Texas Instruments TI-83 Plus Programmable Graphing Calculator (Packaging and Colors May Vary)
Blue calculator without converter or manual. The previous owner\’s name is written on the back cover. All proceeds from St. Vincent de Paul Store to help those in need in our community. Same or next business day dispatch. Top Reviews We have had this calculator for almost 4 years and it is still in perfect working condition. I used it for college and was then able to pass it to my daughter in middle school. Never had to replace the battery, screen still as bright as it was when we bought it. It has been dropped probably 100 times and ZERO issues with it. I would say if you are looking at a less expensive item it is not worth it. GO with a reliable and durable option. . Last March I purchase a calculator and after a month the screen went blank. 10 months later, my niece tried to use the calculator for the SATs, and again the screen went blank. I have a refurbished calculator from another company that has lasted several years. Do not buy one from this company! . I needed a calculator for my stats class. It is not the latest model but still can compute all the problems just like its newer counterpart model. I did not receive the cable shown in the picture. . Although this product was a used product, it is in wonderful condition. The functions of the calculator are exactly what I was looking for as well as the price. Read more

Most of the time I don’t have a problem but 5% or so of the time I do have this problem – and the trouble is you don’t know when it’s a problem unless you get an answer that completely doesn’t make sense and then you have to recalculate watching each individual keystroke being accepted or not.rnI like the features in this calculator as they are very similar to my old Sharp Scientific Calculator that I used may years while working in the engineering department of a paper mill, but I couldn’t stand to use this one because I have to keep repeating my inputs since the originals aren’t picked up for some reason otherwise this would be rated 5 of 5 stars. I don’t know if this is normal for this particular calculator to have to repeat your inputs or I just got a bad unit? I’ve grown to trust all of my other calculators because they accept my first/original inputs but this one doesn’t so I cannot trust it with any important calculations.rnThis calculator had this problem from the time I received it and at first I thought that it would eventually clear up over time but it hasn’t.rnAnyway this is my experience that I’m still having with this calculator and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone else for this reason. . I think this is an incredible value. Sure, I’d love it if the keys worked like my HPs that are dying (after years and years), but the features are superbly well thought out for a relatively simple scientific calculator. It does all the basic stuff very well.
The display is so clear and easy to see. While this is individual preference, for me, the types of keys I use the most are the ones that require no other presses to perform that function. For 8 bucks, this is really quite a great calculator. Going to order a couple more to leave at the various places that I work.rnrnAs for the folks who don’t like how shiny it is, I imagine that is some issue for those routinely working under bright, overhead lights. It’s no problem for me. . Needed a calculator for Chemistry class, and this one has worked great. It is simple to use, I like the green color, and it has a cover to protect, which is nice. There is an on and an off switch so make sure you turn it off I guess. Also, the top layer of the calculator is this shiny plastic material that leaves lots of smudges. That’s the only thing I don’t like. Think of like your smart phone screen. That’s what it looks like. So that’s my only complaint is the smudges around the keys, which is kind of gross. Hence the 4 stars instead of 5. . Pros:rn1) Pleasant designrn2) Functions like sin, log, etc work the old fashion way, enter the number, then the function key and you get the result (no need to hit =)rn3) Display is relatively big with good contrastrn4) Hard plastic keysrnrnCons:rn1) The display window is too small compared to the display itself so there is frequently an annoying shadow projectedrn2) There is no engineering notation, the key is mislabeled F-E but it switches between floating point and scientific notationrn3) Complex math mode works only for the four basic operations (+-x/)rn4) Too glossy finishrnrnBottom line, this is a good buy if you are looking for a simple but practical scientific calculator. 22 – Sharp EL-377WB Business Calculator, White 2.75
Sharp EL-377WB Business Calculator, white 2.75.0 Top Reviews This small, white, light Sharp calculator (EL-377W) is especially programmed for tax calculations; black lettering on ambly spaced white keys, solar powered in addition to (+) a small replaceable battery (4 small corner screws to remove the back), large viewing screen and small and light enough one’s shirt pocket. Advice: keep the instructions sheet for future reference. . Basically this is a handy low-power shirt-pocket calculator which can be used for most calculations.rnOperates from solar (powering an internal battery (LR1130X1). Daylight or a desk lamp are enough to power.rnWorks best for uncomplicated calculations of 6 or fewer decimals in doing factors or multiply/divide calculations (which is 99% of the time.rnStores local sales tax for quick add-to-total which can be handy in stores/restaurants. . This is a great calculator for simple equations, as well as some more complex ones that involve calculating taxes. I like the large display and the ability to customize the tax rate. It’s small enough to fit in your pocket, but the display and keys are large enough that it’s easy to see. The instruction packet was easy to understand, and even gave steps for replacing the battery. Overall, this was a very useful product. . I work in sales and have to say the convenient size makes this calculator easy to keep in a jacket pocket while still being super easy to use and program. The first person I helped today was your stereotypical entitled baby boomer who spent 45 minutes asking me product knowledge questions before saying “I’ll think about it†and walk away. Threw the calculator and now need another one. Read more ~~ best calculators ,
