1 – Calculated Industries 4065 Construction Master Pro Advanced Construction Math Feet-inch-Fraction Calculator for Contractors, Estimators, Builders, Framers, Remodelers, Renovators and Carpenters
Top Reviews Love this calculator. I do a lot of wood working as a hobby. Any woodworker knows that the key to good fractions and knowing a little geometry like rise over run. For so many years I would have to break down fractions into decimals to use them on my calculator then turn that decimal back into a fraction that I can actually use on my measuring tools. Its a time consuming pain in the tail. One day a came across a calculator app that allowed for calculating fractions directly. That worked for a little while, but using a phone as a calculator is tedious, the phone gets all dusty which Im sure voids the warranty, and I was still calculating angles on paper. So I did some soul searching online and came across these. Next to my 3hp cabinet saw. This is my favorite and one of my most used tools in the shop. Being able to do everything on the calculator makes my time in the shop much more enjoyable and it makes projects go a lot faster. I know these calculators have many uses, but I highly recommend it to any advanced wood worker. . I was all set to love this calculator until I discovered it doesn’t calculate rafter tail length. Then I found that the 4067 model does calculate total rafter length including the rafter tail. I returned this item and intend to purchase the 4067 model in the near future. Excepting for not calculating total rafter length, this calculator is very, very helpful. . As a professional estimator I rate this calculator as a must have item. Figuring stair risers, roof pitch, jack rafters, concrete volume all became so much easier and faster. I am able to provide accurate answers to customers in an instant. . I’ve held out on buying a construction calculator for the longest time. Finally thought I better buy one for some more complicated calculations for a sloped site project having to go between civil elevations in feet and my own architectural drawings in feet and inches. It’s been so much easier using this little guy as opposed to my iPhone calculator or even trying some of the apps. Read more
2 – Calculated Industries 4019 Material Estimator Calculator | Finds Project Building Material Costs for DIYs, Contractors, Tradesmen, Handymen and Construction Estimating Professionals (Renewed),Yellow
Top Reviews This was purchased to replace the same model calculator that I bought roughly 10 years ago. It has been a great calculator for my needs. I need to do a lot of calculations using inches and feet and also converting back and forth from metric and this has suited me well. After 10 years of use the first one started getting some inconsistent button presses and the flip cover broke off. I bought this one to keep at my desk at work and then opened up the old one and cleaned off all the contacts inside and taped the covers hinge back on and put it in my backpack for when I go to job sites. I don’t expect to need to buy another one for at least 10 years. . What is 25 feet 7 inches divided by three? Of course you could do this calculation by hand – 25 feet times 12 plus 7 divided by three, then convert back to feet/inches, but this thing does it with a few clicks, and is accurate, and has a scrolling memory so it is it wins out over the manual method. It also does many other calculations and has a handy pouch for the manual and a integrated cover to protect it from dirt and spills. The yellow case is a nice touch so you can find it quick in a pile of tools. . I love these calculators Im a construction Manager and it makes my job easier when Im doing estimates. Just one make concern with the design this is my 4th one in 6 years. Once it falls from a desk or hands there is a great chance the chase cover or battery insert might break. After that happen it all goes south from there . If the manufactires can start making a more sturdy shell or even hard cases like cell phones. . I’ve been in business for 35 years and have owned my fair share of calculators. This piece of trash won’t add up the same calculation if you put it in six times. Took a hammer to the piece of junk and feel a lot better about it. Go to heck Calculated Industries,- MADE IN CHINA-, and your piece of ***p Read more
3 – Calculated Industries 8510 Home ProjectCalc Do-It-Yourselfers Feet-Inch-Fraction Project Calculator | Dedicated Keys for Estimating Material Quantities and Costs for Home Handymen and DIYs
Top Reviews Used approx. 3 times . Easy to use . Very handy . Used it outdoors in 90 degree heat. Worked fine . Put it in pocket Next time I went to use it the center of the screen had a black shadow in it ,too dark to see the numbers behind it. I had not dropped it . I had tried to register it at the suggested web site but it would not go to a register product site. It is reasonably priced so I ordered another one from amazon. My advice is, if you want a project calculator that is durable and you can get product support you might want to choose a different brand . This was suppose to have a one year warranty but I got 3 months of time and 3 uses . I have worked as a picture framer, artist, seamstress, knitter, and do home woodworking and gardening projects, all of which I measure out in the Imperial system. Though I do know most decimal conversions (like 0.625 in is 5/8 in), it is SO much easier to work in straight fractions instead of measuring in fractions, converting to decimals, executing calculations, converting back to fractions and going back to the mesurment. It is far more efficient to just plug in the fraction as I calculate.I have not yet had need to use the buttons for gallons of paint, bags of concrete, etc, but I am sure they will come in handy in some future home DIY project. For now, the calculator has become an indespensible tool in my studio. I wish I had learned about these sooner. . I had another calculator exactly like this one and the battery died. I couldn’t find a battery that fit, so I bought another calculator. The price is fairly cheap compared to the other calculators of this type. I do Architectural CAD design, so I need a calculator that does feet & inches. This is perfect! . As advertised. As a woodworker converting from fractions to decimals was a pain, this calculator make it much easier. You enter the fractions just like you say them. Good buy if it lasts. Read more

tion Master 5 Feet-Inch-Fraction, construction-math calculator
Top Reviews It is easy to use and instructions are helpful. . This is the best construction calculator ever. Great for calculating, rafters and square feet, cubic yards, linear feet, the list goes on. it’s a must have. . It’s a pretty great calculator. I originally bought it as a required material for a framing class and it really came in handy. Now it sits in my shop and is used for tricky measurements. Great quality and use. . I ordered this one to replace an old one that no longer worked, and I am very satisfied. Works very well! Read more
5 – Calculated Industries Construction Calculator, 6 Lx3 1/4 In W (Renewed)
Top Reviews I have had various Construction Masters over the years. Some have been lost/misplaced and a few older models buttons have worn. Great for adding/subtracting/multiplying/etc. feet and inches. Easy metric conversions. Calculates, run, rise, pitch. Trig functions. Booklet is filled with formulas to help you with any special calculations and can fit conveniently between your calculator and case. The protective case has a flip-hinged lid with a quick reference guide printed on it. The bright color of the case helps locate it quickly/easily. Case fits snuggly, but can come off easily if/when you need to take out the calculator.Received in a timely manner, professional transaction. . I need it for my job and I keep buying them but they only last about 2 years. They are plastic crap made in China that don’t last. I have a 20 year old metal one made it Las Vegas, NV. that is still working. . This has to be my fifth or sixth Calculated Industries calculator purchase. I have two at my work, two at home, I keep one in my car too. I’m glad that my 4080 Pro came with the rubber armor as this should help with using it in the field and getting dropped. If you want a calculator to do the work of figuring feet and inches, cubic feet, square feet, stair layout, rafter pitch, volumes, board feet, material quantities, ounces, pounds, converting cooking measurements, figuring mortgage rates, time cards, payroll related calculations, handheld machining math, thread data, drill size chart look-ups, speeds and feeds, right triangle solutions, bolt patterns, estimating, takeoffs the list goes on and on and on and on If you need a calculator to help with the items mentioned above than look no further than Calculated Industries.I work in a structural engineering office and this is my second 4080 Pro. I love the fact that it has “Trig” functions as well as the basic feet and inch functions. That is about 1% of what this little machine can do. I starting drafting with a ‘T’ square and now working on Revit so I’ve seen a lot change in my career. I wish I had the 4080 Pro when I was a younger draftsmen. It is an indispensable tool in my electronic briefcase of gadgets. As long as Calculated Industries is in business and I have a need for their calculators, I will purchase no other brand.Good instructions, ease of use, good battery life. . I had a bit of an issue with the seller I used during this purchase but I feel it has nothing to do with the quality of the calculator itself. I’m a structural draftsman and I’m constantly reaching for a calculator to help check my work, this calculator his the precision and options I need to get my job done without the need of reaching for a separate device. The input of dimensions is very like the way you would speak the dimensions verbally, if that makes sense, the functions took me a bit of research here and there but the included manual will show you pretty much everything you need to know. Overall this Calculator was a good purchase for my career path. Read more

Top Reviews love love love the conversion feature beats finding a chart. fast and easy!If this review was helpful please let me know by clicking the “Helpful†button below the review. . I bought one of these in 1995. The minus button would stick or not work. It was very frustrating, but I needed to do calculations with fractions for custom built-ins. This new model is much better than the old one. The buttons are great and the display window is bigger. The old one still works. The minus button still sticks. But this calculator saves me hours of time and helps me get r done. . I am currently in a building trades college program and this model of construction calculator was a listed on the required items list. If you are familiar with a Texas Insturments TI-30 Scientific Calculator (or something similar) this con calc is going to feel pretty similar, the real difference is in the programmed keys. A function guide fits folded inside a pocket on the back which is handy. The manufacturer also offered a number of armored skins and padded pouches for their calculators aswell. . Love this calculator and have had two of them. My only complaint and the reason I’ve had two is that the number 1 key on both have stopped working. It’s not just me, I’ve talked to coworkers that have had the same problem and it’s always the number 1 key that is the problem. Read more
7 – Calculated Industries 4095 Pipe Trades Pro Advanced Pipe Layout and Design Math Calculator Tool for Pipefitters, Steamfitters, Sprinklerfitters and Welders | Built-in Pipe Data for 7 Materials
Top Reviews I ordered this to replace my Construction Master Pro 4065, which is dying of old age after many years. As a piping designer I see a LOT of potential for this new Pipe Trades Pro. It does the feet-inches-fractions just like my old one (that’s my 95% usage) but the pipe properties function looks like a great new addition that will keep me from having to search for some table under my many stacks of paper or in a misplaced binder. . They have apps on the phone that do the same thing but on a job site your hands are dirty, you have gloves on and it makes taking out your expensive phone running the risk of dropping it just for a few calculations a hassle. With this You just pull it out do some offsets put it back in your pocket and your good to go. I took off the case because the material made it hard to slip in and out of my pocket and having to flip up the cover was bothering me. Makes it more prone to breaking but I’ve dropped it, have gotten dust on it, banged around in my tool bag
and it works like a champ still. . I bought this with the thought that it provided a database of take-offs for fittings, which it does not. I have been using a generic construction calc. knowing the various multipliers for 22.5, 45 fittings and get the same results. I’m just a plumber, so I don’t need the ‘fitters’ functions. If you need the advanced functions, it looks like something even a plumbing engineer could use. It’s too smart for my requirements, but is easier to use after 20 minutes of reading the manual and playing with it. Definitely falls under the ‘cool tool’ category . . Our grandson needed this to help him in his welding classes. He says it works great! Great quality for the price! Read more
8 – Calculated Industries #6575 DigiRoller Plus III 12.5 Inch Estimators Electronic Distance Measuring Wheel with Large Backlit Digital Display; Measure in Feet, Inches, Meters, Yards; FREE Carrying Pack
Top Reviews So I use this wheel for my job as an outside plant engineer for a telecom company. I typically walk 1-3 different routes that total 3,4,5 miles in a day that have tie in points that connect them together. This wheel overall is nice. It is easy to roll, doesn’t click, has a display up where you can see it so you aren’t bending over every few feet to see what number each feature is at. With that being said it could be SOOOO much better and heres how. 1. The ON/Clear button is right up next to the handle so its easy to hit when you are walking which resets your numbers . that sucks when you have walked 3,4,5 miles before you hit it. They should have a feature that makes you hit it twice to actually reset the number so that stops happening. 2. Since its digital there should be a number pad on it that allows you to punch in the starting number that you could take off from. 3. It allows you to save a measurement but it won’t let you pull up the number and then start forward from there. 4. If you let it sit to long it deletes the footage you are on so no lunch breaks during a route. This thing is tough as I have dropped it on to rocks, concrete, and asphalt without any damage. It does count backwards. Just for the price they could have added a few more features to truly make it the best on the market . I bought this to replace a different brand measuring wheel which had a sticky reset and a slipping extension handle. This product has neither of those problems. Folds in half so no slipping handle and restores with a secure click. The battery-powered display and buttons are at the handle and seems to work very well. More calculation features than I need, so I have to be careful not to inadvertently press some buttons. But easy to reset. . This unit far surpasses my previous unit with mechanical meter and gears that often didn’t mesh. I no longer need to lift he unit to reset the meter nor do I need to retrace my steps because the meter failed to record the measurement. A little heavier and more costly, but well worth it. . Works well. I do not like that the handle collapses in half now (the old model used to be infinitely adjustable in two different spots on the long bar section. Oh well, every company has an engineer that has nothing to do so they “improve” on a perfect products design and screw it up. Read more
9 – Saunders Recycled Aluminum Redi-Rite Storage Clipboard with Calculator Clip, Letter Size, 8.5 x 12-Inches (11025)
Top Reviews Very frustrated that the calculator which I use died. I figured it was the battery so I replaced it (should last more than a few months!) and it doesn’t work at all so the Calculator is toast and this is why you buy this clipboard. I would love to have reached out to the manufacturer but they seem unreachable. If you plan on using the Calc than I would avoid this one. If you don’t, than there are cheaper ones. If a replacement was sent I would revisit this review but I can’t stand behind this supposedly American product. . This is a top of the line clipboard. I work in a shipyard and needed something to carry my paperwork and all of my electronics. It holds my tablet, phone, Bluetooth keyboard, spare batteries, magnifying glass and paperwork with room to spare. I also have insulted the inside and created a faraday cage to protect my electronics. In some of the reviews people claim this clipboard is flimsy, not so. It rough rides on a cart squeezed between my tool box and lunch box. The only thing it’s gotten are some scratches; it’s literally but it’s very tough. You have also been some negativity about the clipboard opening from the top. Well, that’s how a clipboard is suppose to open; from the top. If it opened from the bottom your papers that are clipped on the outside would fold over and down. I’m sure I’ll have this clipboard and enjoy it for many years to come. . Received this clip board just before the holidays to use everyday at work. I’m a manager in a production environment so I end up with many miscellaneous items and papers to hold on to, but I like to keep my hands free whenever possible. I previously used a tool belt pouch that I would have to fold papers into, but things would fall out when I sat down. Then I started using this clipboard and it’s great! I can keep all of the papers and stuff I need in it instead of falling out of my pockets. Now whenever, I need my hands free I can toss this off to the side and not worry about it taking a beating. Definitely holding up well so far!The only cons I have found so far is:(1) it’s size, I wish the storage size was 1/2 – 3/4 as large as it is. For my use I don’t need quite that much space often. I really only carry around maybe 7-15 papers on average, a pair of gloves, some earbuds, and a couple of pens.(2) the divider has a gap in the center, I imagine it is to make it easier to grab things out of, but it is slightly too large for the pens I typically use. My pens fall through this gap and into the large section then roll around and make quite a bit of noise. I’ve resolved this issue by just taping a post-it note over this area so there’s no longer a gap.(3) The edges can be sharp. I’ve noticed this getting worse on some corners and better on others due to how the metal has been bent. It’s not an huge issue for me, but I could see how it might bother someone else.My co-workers sometimes ask what I carry in there, but I just tell them it’s my work-purse since I don’t have pockets that can actually fit things like they do (girl-engineer problems). . After reading some of the prior reviews, I was expecting that the lid would have come off during shipping! I was instead pleased to find a well made tough box. I think some people are surprised when they take it out of the box about how light the case is. It may seem flimsy at first; however, on examination I think it will take a lot of abuse.Unfair criticism. . . .One reviewer says that the case must be deburred prior to using or you might get cut. Obviously this is possible – – if you put your hand on a table, put as much weight as you can muster on a corner of the case and drag it across the back of y
our hand – you might be able to gouge yourself enough to bleed. I wouldn’t write a critical review of a power saw because I cut my fingers off with it.The clip for holding papers on the top is generously wide and there are three strong springs for a tight clamp. This is American engineering and craftsmanship at its best. Order without concern. One small suggestion for the manufacturer. Make the thumb tab for opening the lid a little longer. In new condition, the catch is hard to release. Read more
10 – Calculated Industries 4020 Measure Master Pro Feet-Inch-Fraction and Metric Construction Math Calculator
Top Reviews This calculator seemed to be fine. I bought one over a year ago and wanted a second one for my woodshop. I was trying to divide a 15 11/16″ drawer front in half in a SketchUp program and the center didn’t seem to match when measuring from each end. The calculator gave me 7 7/8. This calculator is supposed to be accurate to a 64th of an inch. The answer was supposed to be 7 27/32. If I add this number to itself, it gives me 15 11/16. Since I started questioning the accuracy of it I have found another simple division error. Now I don’t trust it and will no longer use it. I needto find something more accurate.*** After viewing a few of the the answered reviews, I found that you can set fractional resolution to 1/64″. The default is 1/16″ After settingit the calculator gave me the correct answer. Disregard the 1st part of this review. . I should have gotten this long ago The reason I bought the calculator is to make quick work of mixing decimal feet elevations (civil) with feet-inch elevations (architectural). I haven’t had the calculator for long – I’m already using it daily for all stages of design and construction. I started working on a house with complex wall framing assemblies. I prefer keeping dimensions to a quarter of an inch. This house gets down to the 1/16th and the calculator helps. Fractions are easy, though I keep hitting / in place of the division symbol The calculator has also been great for getting unit areas and volumes from mixed units without having to convert first. A time saver (and kind of fun to use). . Construction Master used to be a quality product. . . But not this version. I had a Construction Master Pro for 20 years until it died. I bought this replacement and every key punch has to be re-punched over and over again. It has done this since day one. I should have returned it because that aspect is so annoying. . I got this calculator specifically for doing math on measurements with fractions of inches. It works fine for that, and I assume it works fine for everything else it does. I have not used it for anything else than simple addition and subtractions of length measurements with fractions of inches. Read more
11 – Calculated Industries 4225 ConcreteCalc Pro Advanced Feet-Inch-Fraction, Metric Construction-Math Calculator Tool for Concrete, Masonry, Paving Contractors and Estimators
Top Reviews I use this product to calculate the amount of concrete block it was going to take for a large Housing Authority project. 58,000 block. Of course that’s seven or eight different type of block and I was able to calculate them precisely in no time. That is my favorite feature is the capability of figuring the amount of concrete block and the amount of brick I may need her project. . This is my second Calculated Industries calculator but my first Concrete calc. Because I used my first Construction Master for so long and it did not have trade-specific features like figuring rebar, I tend to use my old workarounds out of force of habit. But, someone younger in the concrete business would use those often. The major upgrade for me is the Armadillo case which was included on my model. IT allows the calculator to take a lot of abuse. If you are ordering concrete or concrete materials everyday for flat slabs, you probably do most of the math in your head. But, if you pour a variety of shapes or depths, battered walls, or need to do a lot of dimensional work in feet and inches this is worth every penny. This tool really earns its keep squaring rectangles and figuring stairs. It is one of my favorite tools. . I bought this as an open box item. It was like new just cheaper I would not hesitate to do the same thing again. I found the youtube videos on setup and use very informative. Wish I had got this thing years ago. . Can’t stand being without it. To be honest, I don’t use many of the preprogrammed formulas but if you’re not so good at math this is a must have. The one thing I can’t do without is the ability to enter feet and inches. That is priceless, results in more accurate calculations. The square up and volume functions save yiu loads of time too and the stair function is very handy when yiu know your total rise and want to figure out how many steps you need to form up with a given tread width or you can designate a total run and have it figure your tread widths. There are a lot more functions I’m sure are useful that I just haven’t gotten to yet. Read more
12 – Calculated Industries 4325 HeavyCalc Pro Feet-Inch, Tenths, Yards and Metric Construction Math Calculator Tool for Engineers, Estimators, Excavators, Highway Contractors and Heavy Equipment Operators
Top Reviews When everything is going on around you and the long hours are wearing you down, and you have to make those calculations to ensure you are on the right track. This calculator will ensure you have the right conversions and calculations done. I keep this in my pocket while wearing the bags and working with the crew. After 5 years its still in one piece and the easy reference book that stores in the back of it is still usable. The front cover did pop off the hinges, so it doesn’t stay on after I flip it open. While the cover is over the key pad it stays on securely. Its well built, user friendly, and a life saver. . I’m an inspector for and engineering firm. I use this calculator for everything from job quantities to payment applications. It does things the calculator on my phone doesn’t and saves several steps from long hand calculations. i.e. time. Slopes, Drops, Grades, Elevations, Hypotenuse lengths for square ups and percentages to name a few of my favorite functions. If your job is hard enough, crunch some numbers and see if making it easier isn’t worth the price. Also look for apps from Calculated Industries for your phone. . I use it everyday. Once you get the hang of it, you can do anything. . This is the second HeavyCalc I have purchased. I got the last one about 16 maybe 17 years ago. It was built we
ll , the front of the case was metal and it came in its own folding cover that kept closed magnetically . I still have this calculator somewhere in my house. The only thing that went wrong with it is the zero key stopped working. My biggest problem with the new one is they made it so much harder to use. The old model much more user friendly. I have already given up on this new model and gone back to a simple calculator. Its just a damned shame that you guys had to change this fine calculator into a cheap, and difficult to operate calculator. Read more

Top Reviews Excellent conversion tool. I always seem to find a need to convert something to something else. My only complaint would be the thing needs to show the commas. I’m a little visually impaired and have difficulty picking out number groups more than three. The ability to calculate fractions is awesome! . Nice conversion calculator. Easy to use, fits easily into pocket. I would recommend it to engineers and technicians and field workers and students. . This makes the 2nd model 8025 calculators I have purchased. I’m not sure how long my first one lasted (at least 5 – 7 years). I used it so much I eventually broke the hinged cover on it. It finally gave out on me last week. This calculator does it all, from the paperless tape function (it remembers your past 20 entries or calculations) to the ease with averages, to the very easy way it allows you to convert various measurements.I placed my order Tuesday 2/21/2012, they promised delivery around the 24th – the 25th, I received it today 2/23/2012, perfect timing. This is the only calculator I will ever buy. 17 – Saunders 21017 Recycled Aluminum Cruiser Mate Storage Clipboard Lightweight, Heavy Duty, Dual Storage Paper Holder. Storage Clipboard, Silver
Top Reviews I have a Sauder brand clipboard that I’ve had my big truck since I started driving a truck 28 years ago. I included a picture of it to show you what kind of shape it’s in. That thing is 28 years old. And then beat dropped out of the truck Etc. I guarantee you the one I just ordered won’t last 28 days in this truck. It is the cheapest flimsiest! Poorest well-made thing I’ve ever purchased off of Amazon. Sauder has really stoop to a All Time Low to make this product. I literally could fold this thing in half with my fingers that’s how thin the aluminum is. I will get my gauge out because I’m a welder and that’s what this was for my welding shop and measure the gauge of the aluminum, but my guess is it’s probably around 18 to 20 gauge aluminum and it’s not quality the aluminum at that.I measured it and it’s actually 24 gauge. . Some scumbag stole it, from my front doorstep, before I got home from work (I’m traditional and I actually work for a living). Thing is, he/she/they busted open Amazon’s shipping box, then opened the manufacturer’s box and discovered that their stolen treasure was, just a metal clipboard (utilized by people who, actually WORK for a living). They must have felt very OFFENDED by this product and it’s lack of value. So, they completely TOSSED the entire package out the window (boxes, product, etc.). I came home from work and discovered that my package was, indeed, missing. Drove around my neighborhood and found the discarded mess, a block from my house. The Saunders Recycled Aluminum Cruiser-Mate II Storage Clipboard with Dual Tray Storage was completely intact, unharmed and ready to be put to use.degenerate scumbag: 0Quality American-Made Product: 1 . Has worked really will until recently when the clip spring broke and it no longer holds my paperwork. I only had it 5 mon and it was never abused. I’d appreciate the manufacturer replacing it since its a defective product. . another amazon product with like 450 folks reviewing and 4.5 stars. i really wonder sometimes about product reviews, this one a perfect example. so the metal is thin, really thin. almost wobbly thin. not sturdy nor would this take any assault to its frame. its as weak as anyone could mfg such a thing! seriously, its paper thin aluminium that can fold . there is no ROLL FORM so all edges can be SHARP!!!! yeah, cut yourself using it before it folds into a paper ball . who on g*d’s green earth would give this anything but cheap rating star 1? sure for $20 it is what it is, but i couldnt use this on site or expect it to last a season. all those that give this thing such high reviews are either using a different product or dont have a use of a service field clipboard like we do. Oh, i just found out that my pen actually indents into the aluminum leavi
ng a trace of my writing, this yet another reason i believe to avoid this product. to quote a friend, “you cant afford the cheap stuff”TLDR > super thin aluminum gives no confidence to sturdiness, no roll form edging means sharp edges everywhere, writing on a single sheet of paper will indent the surface. if they made this an Heavy Duty model adding $5+ in cost it would work excellent, its just it feels like potato chips Read more
