Ordered this and it arrived about 10 days later. Pretty quick. I read the instruction booklet and began the set up the next day. Pretty simple really, but when I tried to set the tax rate for Hawaii I kept getting an “E” on the screen and it would reset. Searched online, but no answers there. Then I wondered if it was the code itself that was wrong cause I followed the instructions exactly several times to not avail. So I checked the tax tables for another state with the same tax rate and entered it. It worked! The rest of the programing was a breeze. There are also videos on utube that I had watched prior to starting. So far, so good. Works great and I am very happy. Although I have yet to try programming plu’s. 😁😁Update: sometimes coins get stuck, and the drawer won’t open. Now it sometimes does this for no reason. Had to pry it open a few times. It’s an inexpensive register, so I’m not too put out. Still works for what I need. So, still happy 4 months later after almost daily use. .
It was not clear to me so figured I would spell it out for anyone else who cares you can choose to print customer receipts OR journal tape – but not both. .
The item has a roller behind the register paper, for the journal paper to roll onto. It is not automated to roll automatically as the register is used. This creates the paper just clogging up until it finds the slot for the paper to begin to come out of the register. The journal roll needs to automatically rotate to roll up the paper. It is really irritating to have to stop and roll it manually onto the roller. Other than that, I have no issues yet with the item. That one issue is bad enough. .
We’ve been using this little register in our busy kiosk for over a month now and what a difference it makes from using a cash box.I received a little help programing it but once up and running it reduced a lot of the errors we were making keeping track of sales.I’m sure that any register would have helped but this was about the smallest and least expensive that is filling our needs. Even changing the tape is easy. .

I purchased this because 1.) I got tired of using a calculator, math is not my strong suit. 2) Not all of the events I do have easy or any access to electricity.Like other reviews mentioned, there was no sample register tape or spool. I just went and bought a roll of tape, since I am not worried about a journal I can live without the spool. I did have difficulty entering the tax rate, so I called Royal and the first guy I talked to had me taken care of in a matter of minutes. Part of my difficulty was I was taking into consideration the decimal point when I should not have. The tech I talked to even had me try it out to make sure it calculated correctly before ending the call.I did find other registers that would run on batteries, but they were all like $300 of more, for less than $100 I got this and the cash drawer. So far I am happy with it. .
It’s everything I was looking for in a portable register. I’ve used it for 2 weekend shows.It’s a glorified adding machine but that’s what I need. With that in mind it takes adding machine paper and NOT thermal paper. .
Whoever trying to buy this product needs to know that you can’t print any alphabets with this register which means you can’t write your store name or product names, just numbers numbers and numbers. Also the receipt looks so cheesy. .
We bought this to do craft shows. The first show we did was a 4 day show and we ran a average 80-90 sales per day. We didn’t change the batteries once. It worked fantastically. .

This is a high quality cash register. Things that I like are that it has a bottom surface material and is heavy enough that when the kids open and shut the cash drawer it stays put. The money is real size and they particularly seem to like the credit card. I am really pleased that I spent the money on this one – instead of going cheap. .
This is made of very thick plastic. Money that came with it is also nice and thick. Easy to open and close and like that it has a real working calculator! .
Very well made product. Authentic cash register and fits real bills. Bought it for my grandson and my daughter says she’s going to use it with real money at her garage sale. .
Bought for the grandkids who love to play store. Very nicely made cash register. They spent hours playing with it. Good for learning math transactions too. .

I have had 3 of these cash registers break on me. The first 2 had a malfunction of the tape advancing roller. so the receipt was printing on top of itself. Then I was in Michigan and the only repair center is 5 hours away. So I shipped them to the service center for $40 and got brand new ones in exchange because they were only a few months old. The new one I got and have been using for 1 month has now started printing gibberish on the receipt. I called support and they told me I had to ship it at my expense back to the repair center. I am going to buy anything else but Royal. .
The register seems to be fine. It is made for a much more complex environment than I needed, but that is OK. I gave a low rating because the instructions came in Spanish only. I am an American, I don’t read Spanish. We were sent a download of the English version and it took an hour to start printing. I finally opened it with the Chrome browser and it printed. Unless these things were fixed, I would move to a different machine. .
Hola!We just received ours. It’s not set up yet, so I can’t speak about its performance. I’ll review that later. I just wanted to be sure and write about the instruction manual since I’ve noticed other reviews complaining about it.We also received an instruction manual all in Spanish. But, if you just look on the page where you bought it, you’ll see a link to the instruction manual in PDF format. It only took a minute to download it. I’d rather have it in the computer than a booklet anyway. I’ve looked it over and it appears to be user friendly. Once we get it rolling I’ll review it again.Adios amigos .
Fortunately you caught when I have little time to write, otherwise this would be quite long. A disaster from the get go. First, all the instructions are in Spanish. I don’t speak or read Spanish, so I downloaded the English version. I’ve programmed my own registers for years, but couldn’t figure this one out. Couldn’t get the tax to come out correctly. What a difference from the 120 DX which they obviously no longer make. Dear Royal, please bring back the 120DX .

These register tapes are perfect for our older style cash registers! The price cannot be beat! Even though they are an add on item it is worth buying them when purchasing other items. If you use older style cash registers this is the item for you! .
A three rating because the register rolls were delivered on a timely manner. The quality of the paper seemed less desirable.The paper is a bit thinner than expected. It feels like recycled paper. Staples brand cost more but their product seemed to have a better quality. .

I just got this today and so far it’s working great. It’s really simple to use after you get the hang of it. If you’re having trouble, there are a lot of videos on YouTube explaining how to use it and how to fix issues if you come about them. I already costumized the receipt and showed an example of all what it can do in the picture I provided. It’s a cute functioning machine. .
This register is way more than I ever expected it would be!! It is extremely light weight and the compact. It is easy to move around and as long as there are batteries in it; when its unplugged or the power goes out, the settings won’t be deleted. The printing on the receipt is very nice and the instructions for programming are super easy to follow.You can even add your business name to the receipt!! This is perfect for small business’!! I don’t know what I did without this register!!! .
Small and lightweight. Would be easy to use for those who do pop-up shops and markets. Takes up little counter space. Only four slots for bills. Programs easily, but I highly recommend watching the instructional videos for this model on youtube! Uses thermal paper. Only complaint is that you cannot turn off receipt printing entirely for every transaction. Lots of unnecessary printing and paper use. Still the perfect register for very small businesses. .
Fantastic register, just what we needed after someone stole our old 1980-era casio. Very quiet, easy to use. LOVE being able to program five lines for store info at the top (we put our name, phone, website, AND two lines of thankyous! People compliment the vibrant color all the time. My only minor issue is it won’t let me enter in “minus” amounts, though there is a minus button, which means there’s no easy way to enter in a gift certificate payment .

Just wanted to say how impressed I am with not only this product but with the excellent customer service and technical support.When I first started looking into POS stations I wasn’t sure what to expect?.when I first called to enquire about this certain POS I spoke to a nice sales rep named Babs.she was eager to answer any questions I asked.I was sceptical on purchasing a POS and use my I-pad as well?.nevertheless I was curious being there joined with Apple.to how this new system worked?.So i purchased it? I do not even know where to begin with this company and system. I am an owner of a single convenience store and have used POS 1st Pay and also Clover Systems. I feel as though as a business owner the focus is not on the system/software but on the sales pitch for the Merchant these companies want to coerce you into using. THIS company is certainly NOT about all that. I read every single review and was still prepared for a sales pitch. What I received was some of the best customer service I have ever had. I explained what I needed, “Jon” assisted me to navigate thru the app and how to use it. I was worried that again I would be stuck uploading all of my inventory, instead within 24 hours this company had all of my inventory uploaded, I had an ipad working as a cash register, and within 48 hours of initial phone call this equipment came and I had my all in one set back in business. My staff LOVE the ease of the program and it was by far the smoothest. I honestly think this can be attributed to their beyond fast customer service. I have NEVER had to wait on hold, leave a message, or not receive a text back. I had my own credit card processor with what I feel are good rates, I received one from their card processor and if this company can match or beat my current card processor I am switching. I have even mentioned to the company that I would gladly speak to anyone who is skeptical. This is the real deal and a super price! .
I researched every system and read every review on every system. I wanted to take my time evaluating but always came back to the Datio POS system not only because of all the raving reviews but what the system could offer me and my business, i.e. tracking inventory, reports, cost of goods, etc. I am so glad I chose this system – the set-up was a breeze, the tech that helped me was so nice and knowledgeable. I own a retail store and have a huge inventory of product, It was so easy to add all my product, create item numbers/sku’s or add item barcodes in if I wish to scan product. I love the fact that I’m now adding a restaurant to my retail store and the Datio system will accommodate that side of the business as well. I have been using my Datio POS system for a year now and still love it .have had zero issues. Also it’s nice looking. I am definitely the envy of all the business owners in my community. Do yourself a favor, it’s hard enough to own a business so why worry about your POS system you will not regret it! .

Just settling in with this register, and noting some negatives. The drawer does not latch solidly, in fact it is so weak that itwill pop open on its own. I am having trouble with the journal tape jamming after only one day on the job. We will see if I decideto keep this unit or not. Programing was not too bad, although I cannot figure out why these registers cannot give us a USB cordconnect so that we can program from a computer.Update- 2 weeks later – I figure out why the journal tape jambs. The take up spool does not turn. I had to add about 3 layers of masking tape to the 1/8″ wide drum on the outside of the take up spool. now it touches the tiny drive wheel. I also cleaned all the Vaseline off the drawer latch and bent the latch guide to make the drawer latch.So my register needed modification right out of the box in order to stay closed and have the rollers work. That is some pretty weak engineering and/or quality control! .
What a value! This works well for us. So I am an idiot, I entered hundreds of PLU’s into this thing with planning and preparing properly first. Don’t make this mistake please. Best to plan out you scheme for the PLU’s ahead of time and right them down before entering them into the cash register. Like I said, I am an idiot. .
This is a love hate relationship with this cash register. The manual is terrible a lot of incorrect information and poorly laid out. Programming the cash register is a real pain. Especially if you are doing it manually on the cash register itself and using the keys on the cash register. I downloaded the programming software to my PC and configured the settings for the cash register and then saved the settings to the SD card and then inserted the card into the side of the cash register. This was the easiest way to program the cash register. You would think in this day and age that it would be alot easier to set up something as simple as a cash register. The mechanical and electrical part of the cash register work fine.Cash Drawer works smoothly.But the programing and the book it comes with is something out of the 1970’s written in a third world country. If I had it to do over again I would use a laptop and a cash drawer. That would be so much easier. I give it 3 stars for the price and the mechanical usage. A fail on programming. .
I’ve used this register for about a month now. Quite a good machine I’d say but it has a couple critical faults. I’ll give 5+ stars to it if Casio can upgrade the firmware to correct these problems.Pros: Big screen with tilting adjustment, big “cash” button; easy to take out items from transaction; big coin trays; audible but not noisy key clicks; keys has alphabets printed on the side, so it’s easy to type letters for programming; overall neat look and compact sizeCons (minor): Screen on customer side has no tilting adjustment and has no height adjustment either (it can be fully taken up and turn); double protection for accessing to x&z or programming mode will be nicer (some register asks to enter the passcode even when you use mgr key to enter into those special modes); compartment division of tray looks easy to breakCons (major): Programming is not straightforward and user manual has wrong programming info (I had to check Internet to find better info, especially about head message programming); customer side screen gets people confused about the amount – the big number shown in the middle is not the final total amount but it’s the sub total before tax, while the final total with tax added appears on top in small numbers. Obviously and naturally, most customers assume the big numbers in the middle are the amount they owe and I’m already so tired with explaining and correcting it!!! .

The mobile app that is supposed to be used in setting up the cash register is not available outside the USA. Yet the product is sold and shipped to other Countries by AMAZON.COM .
Cash drawer is really cheap plastic compared to royal and online repotting is only good if your phone is only 10 feet range from register. .
We were denied return of this product. It isn’t user friendly. .

My 3yr old loves Minnie & we needed a new register. this was cheaper than most others so of course I bought it. She likes it bc it’s Minnie and it’s a register & comes with bills, coins, & a card. but that’s it. The pull out part where you put the money is very small. the scanner doesn’t do anything or even make a noise. Also the calculator isn’t real. The description says it’s real and works but it doesn’t. the numbers make a sound when pressed but doesn’t show it in the screen. .
My daughter loves everything Minnie Mouse and she’d play with this all day if she could. She loves the sounds the buttons make and taking the money out and putting it back in. Just 2 things to be aware of: the money is pretty flimsy (we covered the bills with scotch tape so she wouldn’t rip them). Also, there’s no off button, so make sure you have a good hiding place or you’ll be hearing dings and Minnie laughs all day. .
really cheap. the buttons all make the same annoying noise (no different pitches). loud. the purple scanner wand does nothing at all. it is just a piece of plastic junk. the drawer so tiny that the cash cant fit inside wo bending. The only reason I’m keeping it is bc my 3yo loves Minnie and thinks it’s fun. It’ll be trash in a month I’m sure. .
We got this for our 2.5 year old. She loves it and plays with it every day. The only thing that would make it better is if the play money it came with was laminated- it is just paper so it doesn’t hold up well but the register itself is great. .

Positive- Price is good at 40 cents a roll; paper prints clearly; can write easily with penNegative- The rolls are 46′ not 50′ as advertised. I compared the roll to my Paymentech brand roll using two 25′ tape measures. The second picture shows 21′ (plus 25′ first tape) for a total of 46′. So we are loosing 4 sales on each roll using our Verifone Credit Card Machine. (Full disclosure: The Paymentech brand was 1′ short. Third picture shows where both rolls should have ended)Conclusion- The paper roll industry is not being accurate with what they sell. .
These are 50′ rolls not 85′ rolls .They fit vx520 terminals as well as others .The 85′ rolls will not fit in a vx520 credit card terminal. I have been buying them for about 2 years .They are Great rolls, they last as long as 50′ of terminal paper will last. They have never given me any problems. Great item, Great price, Great shipping. They are Not 85 foot rolls, they are what they say they are 50 foot rolls that will work in machines that 85 foot rolls will not work in . .
Work great! Never have any problem! What I like most is it’s very easy to peel off the start of the roll to get it ready for print.Some other companies that would glue it in so much that you practically have to rip off a bunch of paper to open up the rollsIt run until the end of till and I don’t have problem like other reviewers mention for the cardboard inner being not holding paper tight .
These print and tear cleanly but they seem much shorter than the 50′ they claim; we are finding these last a day and a half at most in our Veriphone cc printers. We had been using a different brand claiming to be 80′ and they lasted at least 4-5 days. The low cost of these is offset by a short lifespan and the irritating need to replace with a new roll so frequently.We won’t be using these seemingly very short rolls again and will go back to a higher quality 80′ brand. .

Upon receiving this item I found it very difficult to set it up properly because information was missing from the booklet and proper information on setting this unit up was missing online. I reached out to sharp after spending around $400 on this cash register they wanted to charge me $20 for technical support on the phone. This is not how you treat customers that just bought into your product. Could understand if I had it for a couple of years! .
The register itself is doing fine. You could be very basic in your needs with it and quickly pick it up its operation. However, I have been reading through the instructions manual and it is rather dense. It gives a myriad of possibilities in entering amounts, PLUs, etc. For a regular store I could see this being needed. We are a small operation and don’t require a ton of barcodes or departments. The main reason we bought it was for the journal tape to help keep track of checks and balances every day, instead of doing it by hand. This has been helpful. I also like that you don’t have to print receipts. However, if a guest needs one, you can print reprint and it will print the last transaction! My main hangup so far is giving the numbered departments an actual name. I still haven’t found that yet in the manual. I may just have to tape something to the top of the department head keys. I’m sure we’ll figure out something. Also has a power “sleep” function which helps preserve the display life. Overall, we’re not disappointed in it. .
I’ve used sharp registers in the past. This newer model is fine as long as you don’t need product support, and for the most part, you won’t. The programming is fairly straightforward. But, the very idea of having to pay $20.00 to just call for product support for a new product is outrageous. I could understand it if they gave you a short grace period, and then started charging for additional support. I might understand it if their website actually had information to help you. It doesn’t. So, good product, bad company policy. .
The buttons are super sensitive to precision touch. When you are not hitting the buttons perfectly in the middle the register beeps error messages at you. This is devestating to your emotional well being if you are using this all day everyday like I do. It is more than just a little annoying. Also, if you have more than 3 minutes between transactions the register goes into “off” mode. This means you have to hit any button to get it going THEN begin your transaction. Not a big deal but dealing with it all day and not being able to bypass this mode is also very annoying. .

Well I love it very well made, great price I would buy it again BUT !!!!IT CLEARLY SAYS 16 x 16 OR AM I HALLUCINATING ???I HAD A SPACE I WANTED TO PUT THIS THAT IS 16 AND 1/16 OF AN INCH WIDE THIS THING IS 16 AND 1/8 WIDE.SO NOW I WILL HAVE TO MODIFY THE SPACE TO ACCOMMODATE IT.Also note if the depth is important to you the actual depth is NOT 16 INCHES, it’s more like 16 and 5/8 inchesIt is a great product at a great value but darn it get dimensions in the listing fixed .
This was one of the best purchases we made for our new gun store! It’s easy to take with us to shows as well as use in our store. My printer fits right on top and makes it easier to use. The box is sturdy as all get out! It flew off my back seat of my van when I had to slam the breaks on, crashed to the floor and made a lot of racket, but otherwise it survived nicely. few scratches but otherwise you’d never know it went for a ride off the seat. Luckily it crashed to the floor and didn’t hit us.LOL. My only suggestion would be to make the bill spots a tad wider. It’s a little tight getting bills in and out. The removeable change tray makes it nice to store larger bills under so they’re out of sight. The slot makes it handy to slide papers in so we don’t have to open it each time. Thanks for making a great product. Will definitly buy again if the need arrives. .
Simple cash drawer, you push it and it opens. It does NOT come with a bell which I wish it had. It seems to be a very heavy, sturdy steel. Removable bill and coin sorter. If you are just setting it on a counter it has rubber feet on the bottom. I also bought the under-mount brackets that were recommended with it. The drawer installed on the brackets with 4 set screws and was very easy. If you are mounting under a wood surface you can install the under mount in about 15 mins. I was working with steel so it took longer but it is a solid set up. .
