Overlays are simply map layers that will appear on top of your route map. To enable any of these overlays in AllTrails Pro, simply touch the two overlapping rectangles icon on the right side of the route map.
Choose any of the overlays (Pro or not Pro) that you want to appear on your map. Then, when you hit the back arrow at the top of the screen, you will see these map layers appear on your route map.
You can remove any overlays by clicking the same icon and then clicking the selected overlay and deselecting it.
5. Print Paper Versions of Your Maps
You can select the Print / PDF link under the track title to print a paper copy of the track on any track.
Before printing, you can set the scale, orientation, grid lines, print layout, and the type of map you want to print.
You can also access the AllTrails Pro print function by viewing the route map itself. Just select the tiny printer icon in the top right corner of the card.
You can send the printout to your printer for paper copy, or save it as PDF. If you save the PDF, you can transfer the file to your phone to create a trail backup if the AllTrails app crashes. Or you can send a PDF to a friend so you both can carry a copy of the map with you as you walk the trail.
