5 Things To Try If Your Apple Pencil Is Not Working.
There is nothing worse than spending money on a beautiful shiny new Apple Pencil and then coming home and finding the said Apple Pencil not working. But as with many other technologies, there is often a simple solution to the problem. You just need to figure it out.
So, if your Apple Pencil isn’t working, here are 5 troubleshooting tips, from the simplest to the most annoying.
Make sure the nib is running securely
The tip of the pencil should already be properly secured, but if you have small defects or looseness in the box, maybe all that is needed is to tighten it?
You don’t need to tighten it too as this can break it even more. But just carefully check to see if she’s loose. If so, tighten up a little. If you cannot (because it is broken), you will find a new nib in the pencil box. If you’ve already used a replacement, you can buy new ones on Amazon.
Recharge Pen
If the tip is okay, the next step is to check if you need to recharge the pencil.
We’ve already covered how to check the Apple Pencil battery If it shows the battery needs charging, simply remove the top of the pencil to reveal the charger.

Insert the Pencil charger into the small adapter found inside the package. On the other end of the adapter, insert the Lightning cable and plug it into a power source. If the Pencil is new, it will take very little time to charge.
In most cases, charging the pencil to 100% will solve all problems.
Restart Your iPad
No, didn’t it work? Well, if your Apple Pencil still doesn’t work, it might not be the Pencil, but the iPad you’re trying to work on. As the classic technical slogan says: “ Have you tried turning it off and then back on?”
Restart your iPad and see if the pencil works. Sometimes all the device needs is to shake it up a bit and lift the motherboard up.
Re-pair the Pencil and iPad
So it still doesn’t work? Okay, then the next step is to disconnect the pencil from the iPad’s Bluetooth and re-pair it as if you were starting from scratch.
To unpair, go to iPad settings and select Bluetooth.
You will see Apple Pencil listed. Now click on the blue “i” icon on the right next to “Connected”.
He will ask you if you want to forget this device. Tap this option and iPad will “forget” your pencil’s Bluetooth settings. The pencil is now “torn”.
Now, to reconnect iPad and pencil, remove the top of the pencil to reveal the charger. Insert the Pencil charger into the iPad charging port. After a few seconds, you will see the following.
Click Connect and iPad will remember the Bluetooth settings of the pencil again.
Contact Apple for repair or replacement
If the previous four options didn’t work, then most likely your Pencil is broken. Now your only recourse is to contact Apple and ask them to have it repaired or, if Apple is to blame, ask them to replace the faulty pencil with a new one.
Just go to your nearest Apple store or authorized third-party reseller and ask. Or call them.
