When I like a song, I play it until I hate it
With the advent of YouTube Music, I packed my bags and quit Spotify. I currently listen to most of my music and podcasts on YouTube. Now there are songs that are just stuck in your head and you want to get out of them. Well, the Spotify mobile app lets you loop songs while the YouTube app doesn’t.
On the other hand, the desktop version of YouTube allows you to loop videos. If you didn’t know, just right-click on the play / pause button and select the Loop option and you’re done. But I’m pretty sure YouTube won’t be adding this feature to its official Android and iOS app soon.

Why doesn’t YouTube have a Loop feature for Android and iOS?
Although we’re so used to getting cool stuff like Google Maps, Search, YouTube, and more from Google, it’s Free. We often forget that Google is also a commercial business and they make money from advertising. If more people play the same video over and over again, the chances of effective ad serving decrease. In short, the built-in loop function is not good for Google’s business. After nine years of inquiries, they finally added it to the desktop version, but it won’t be coming soon for mobile.
But that doesn’t mean you can’t loop YouTube videos on Android and iOS. There are several workarounds for looping videos right in the YouTube app for both Android and iOS. While not as perfect as the web version, it gets the job done.

Method 1: Duplicate a YouTube video using your web browser
I recently discovered this method and it turned out to be the easiest way to loop a song on your smartphone. The trick here is to play the YouTube video in a web browser on Android. Unfortunately this trick doesn’t work on iOS.
1. Open a web browser and enter the URL “m.youtube.comâ€. This is to prevent the browser from opening the YouTube app automatically.
2. After opening the mobile version, go to the browser menu and check the “Site for PC” box.
3. Find and play the video of your choice. Now zoom in and press and hold on the video, this will bring up the context menu. From the options select the “Cycle” option. Once you have done this, you will see a loop option, just like the desktop version.
Method 2: Duplicate a video inside the YouTube app
This method is a temporary fix in the YouTube app. The trick here is to add one video to the newly created playlist and then loop that list. It works great on both Android and iOS. The YouTube app itself is similar to Android and iOS. So the following steps can be used to create and loop a playlist on iPhone.
1. Open the YouTube app and play the video.
2. Click on the ‘Add to’ option under the video Create a new playlist Give the playlist a name of your choice. Now on the main screen, click on the “Library” option appearing at the bottom of the screen and navigate through the newly created playlist. Once you’re in, hit the play button to start playing the video.
4. During video playback, click the Down arrow next to the playlist name.
5. Click on the loop icon inside the playlist to repeat that single song.
The third method. Repeat YouTube videos with third-party applications
Aside from these workarounds, there are many third party Android apps that can be used to play YouTube videos repeatedly. If I had to suggest one application, it would be Musepic.
1. Download and install Musepic from the Google Play store. The app is free to download with several in-app purchases that allow you to access additional features such as resizing the picture-in-picture window.
2. Open the app and find the song you want to repeat. Fortunately, they have automatic suggestions, so you don’t have to enter the whole thing.
3. Select a video from the search results and play it. As you play, you will notice that there are several other controls in the window, such as Loop and Sticky. You can loop a part of a YouTube video or an entire video using a drag bar or time selector. Click the loop tab in the lower right corner of the video and that’s it, the video will play repeatedly until you manually stop it.

If you are using iOS, I would recommend Loop2Learn Lite (free). It works more or less similarly to the Musepic app.
1. Download and install Loop2Learn Lite App. It has both a free and a paid option that costs around $ 3. But the free version is more than enough for our needs.
2. Open the app and you will see the mobile version of YouTube. You can search, login in the same normal way. Alternatively, you can also paste the YouTube URL into the top search bar.
3. When the song starts, the loop controls can be seen at the bottom of the screen. You can choose a specific time frame to loop, or even the entire video. It also provides the option to enter the number of repetitions, if you mean a number.

Depending on your requirement, you can play YouTube videos inside the official YouTube app using the playlist function, or use a third party app or even a web browser.
