25+ Best Safari Extensions You Should Try in 2019.
Safari is still one of the best web browsers for macOS, especially if you own Apple’s famous walled garden. Privacy, browsing for reading, auto-filling passwords, and automatically pausing YouTube videos when I take out one of my Airpods are some of the reasons I switched from Google Chrome to Safari.
However, I still miss the awesome Google Chrome extensions. So, the first thing I did after switching from Google Chrome to Safari was looking for extensions. And I have to admit, while the directory isn’t as big as Chrome, there are some pretty good Safari extensions out there. Extensions fall into categories like performance, security, shopping, etc. You will find at least one Safari extension that suits your needs. So let’s start the list?
Best Safari Extensions
1. Sessions
Sessions is a great Safari extension for managing browsing sessions. If your Safari window has more than 10 or 20 tabs open, this extension will help you clarify the situation. Sessions will automatically save your tab / window information, but you can also save them manually. The next time you want to know what you read a few days before, the session history will be helpful. I personally use this to save all my research tabs for future reference.

2. Adblock Plus
Ads can also be annoying when using Safari. Fortunately, there is Adblock Plus, which can block almost all types of ads you see. However, Adblock Plus may allow the display of some types of unobtrusive ads. This can be turned off in Safari Preferences Adblock Plus.
After installing this Safari extension, you no longer have to worry about these YouTube ads. However, it should be noted that many websites ask you to disable this content access extension. However, in most cases, Adblock Plus is one of the must-have Safari extensions in 2018. However, support your favorite content creator by whitelisting their website or YouTube channel on Adblocker.

3. Keeping in the pocket
If you’re reading anything on the Internet, Save to Pocket is a handy addition to Safari’s list of extensions. It allows you to save articles and videos from the Internet to your Pocket account and read them later. The best part is that Pocket provides you with content in an easy-to-read form. Excludes ads and unnecessary content. After synchronization, your Pocket saves will be available on all devices. Next time you find a long article to read, be sure to save it to Pocket.

4. HoverSee
HoverSee is another great Safari extension for most people. It allows you to zoom in on images and links when you hover over them. For example, on YouTube, hovering over a video link displays the video playing in a small section. Trust me, this is a great feature when you want to know what’s going on with a video without watching it completely. Personally, I use this extension on YouTube more often than to enlarge images.

5. Wonderful screenshot
Awesome Screenshot is another must-have Safari extension to boost your productivity. It allows you to take screenshots of the current web page. You can grab the entire page or specify a region. However, after taking a screenshot, Awesome Screenshot lets you annotate a lot of things. When finished, you either save the screenshot, comment on it, or share it with others. This is a pretty robust Safari extension that will come in handy in a lot of cases.

6. Incognito
Incognito is a great Safari extension for protecting your privacy. However, it does something amazing – it prevents large companies like Google and Facebook from tracking you online. Once you start using this extension, you will not see targeted ads on the Internet. Either way, incognito can prevent Google and Facebook from getting your full online image. It should be noted that Incognito allows you to decide which services should be blocked and which should not.

7. Coming soon
Coming soon, this is an awesome productivity extension for Safari. From time to time, we need short links to share the URL on the internet. This feature will soon become available in one click. Instead of going through a few steps to get a short URL, you can simply click the Short button. After a few seconds, the extension will show you the goo.gl short link of the current web page. You know, it’s that simple. Just press Cmd + C and the short link will be copied too.

10. Translation
There must be a Safari extension in some way. The translator is very helpful if you are reading online. As you know, unlike Chrome, Safari doesn’t have a built-in translation feature. So, this extension brings Bing Translate to the browser. You know, the features are still great. You can hover your cursor over a sentence to see the actual set of words and their meaning. Compared to others, Translate doesn’t have a huge impact on resources either. Recommended for all Safari users.

11. Night light
macOS Mojave comes with a long-awaited built-in dark mode option, however, if you haven’t updated it yet but still want to use dark mode on the websites you visit. It looks like you get dark mode for websites. Even if the website has a white pattern, it will go dark if Nightlight is enabled. While simple websites should work, we don’t recommend Nightlight for complex websites. If you spend a lot of time staring at your computer screen at night, you should check it out.

Facebook has an effective user interface, but ads and sponsored posts sometimes make it completely unusable. That’s why you should start using the Cleaner for Facebook Safari extension. We also liked the fact that Cleaner for Facebook is pretty clean. It doesn’t even put the icon in the Safari bar.

Instapaper is another extension that lets you save things for later reading. However, in this case, you can save several different things, such as articles and videos.
